Chapter 201: CrystalBay Pack

~Odette~

The name sounded familiar. But at the moment, I couldn’t put my finger on it.

But...

At the mention of the CrystalBay Pack Ambrose and my father both stood up so fast, ready to scream, their chairs flipped over.

It instantly made sense.

The CrystalBay FullMoon Massacre.

The place Ambrose lost his mother.

The people responsible for taking my mother.

The home of the monsters my father destroyed.

It’s where fate started turning its wheels.

I spoke quickly before anyone could react "That’s actually not a bad idea. It’s an emotional spot for my mother as well, the pain would incentivize his appearance. He wouldn’t be able to resist it. The symbolism, the finality." I thought about it, and the more I did the more I realized how perfect it would be.

"I hate to agree with an old bloodsucker, but I do." One of the younger alphas interjected.

I could tell... Ambrose was conflicted. He hasn’t been back that place since that frightful night his parent’s died. But it was the best place. It was far enough for the major city, it had a weygate nearby. It was easy to access; it would only take about 7 hours to fly there. They could start mobilizing their army. But still...

"We’ll do it." My father surprised me with his quick decision.

It was settled.

We’d go there. We’d launch our assault and build our camp there.

When the conference call ended most everyone called in. Only one shifter pack and 3 vampire clans weren’t in attendance. And as such, they would be stripped of their title’s lands and protections. My Aunt Rosa and my Uncle Jeremy handled the vampire traitors and Damon handled the shifter pack’s betrayals.

Ambrose and my father left with my Uncle Gabe and Grandpa Vlad to began the mobilization of our troops and guards.

This was really happening.

Arya had come out hiding, finally, and she called a small meeting of her own with me and Artemasia.

When me and Artemasia arrived, we were both taken back by what sat before us when we entered the room. Artemasia was pissed when she saw the surprise visit from her old coven. She’d done well avoiding them since their partnership had begun.

"What the fuck is this?" Artemasia nearly broke my eardrum yelling.

"It’s a meeting. I finished the stone." Arya sounded like she had no idea what she did. But I knew her better now.

Every eye in the room found her face and locked on, their entire attention only on Arya now.

Artemasia and I both just ignoring the fact we were ambushed by the coven leadership.

"You did what?" The old Crone asked.

"I did it. I was able to complete stone to extract and trap Ezelreth’s soul. The stone is powerful enough to contain him. I think..."

"What are you going to do after he’s contained?" The Mother asked.

I answered with a hint of mischief in my eyes. "I’ve got something worked out with Artemasia already."

I had trained with the warriors over the last few days, helping with bonding and building a mutually beneficial relationship with each other. The brawls and injuries had significantly decreased, and only a few very rigid shifter and vampires left that refused to let go over their grievances but would fight this battle none the less.

"You won’t share with us?" They asked. I shook my head no.

This was something between Artemasia and me, and I knew about the bad blood between her and the coven, and I wanted to make sure Artemasia knew where I stood in on this, where she stood in my life and in my court.

Though she wouldn’t say it, I could feel it. The pride in my loyalty, and my spoken defiance for her sake.

Arya pulled the stone out of a black wooden box. It was locked and glowed from the inside like it was radioactive. The box had glowing sigils on it, meant to hide it and protect it from unwanted eyes and hands.

Arya waved her hand over the box and the sound of the locking mechanism shifted and clanked. With a pop the box opened. And inside was the meteor. It looked the same as before, yet somewhat different. Still as beautiful as it was strange.

"I designed it specifically to call out to his soul, pretending to be a proper vessel. Once he’s close enough you can shove it into Violet’s chest, it should just be absorbed, though I can’t test this part of the theory, I used the same materials for mana cores." Arya looked over to her coven leaders "Like the ones we occasionally sell to low ranking wizards? Yeah, those."

"That’s actually genius." The Maiden complimented.

"Yeah, I know." Arya smiled proudly, tooting her own horn.

Things were falling into place. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

We would leave in two days for my home territory. My family reclaimed that land after the massacre, and no one had disputed it or tried to reclaim it. They considered it a penance for their sins against my family.

Artemasia would spend the rest of tomorrow working with me on my Divine Fyre. It was the key to our entire plan working.

Me, Emalea, Raven, Esme and Delilah made plans to pack. Nothing crazy, it’s not like this is a vacation. But we’d still need things to wear, books, to read, things to keep us all sane while we waited for the inevitable. I don’t know how long we’d be at the old pack house before Ezelreth makes his move.

Things were tense in the palace; the feeling of war was settling in and the people in the pack could feel it. All over the world they could feel it.

Beta Damon and Leviathan worked with the council on a plan to hide the people in capital city. Phera offered realm. Though it was in the spirit realm, it was her domain and she could grant and deny entrance to anyone. Her realm was a fortress that only the gods themselves could enter without her permission. The people of the packs who aided could find safety there. Phera and Leviathan offered to move them through the rings and gates.

Everything was being meticulously planned.

The following day it would just be me and Artemasia. Learning to control my Divine Fyre without needing powerful emotions or feeling the drain on my life force. I needed this. We needed this.

The world needed this.

And I was ready though. I was ready to conquer my powers. Conquer my role in this fate.

I was meeting Artemasia at the training area outside. I walked through like a raging storm brewing in the ocean; it was only a matter of time before I was a full blown hurricane.

My hair was braided in a single braid, tight, whipping back and forth behind me. My classic all black training clothes. I looked more than ready; I looked like I’d already won.

My father and Ambrose came to watch, alongside the rest of my family and friends. For my family it had been a long time since they’d seen Divine Fyre in action.

With all eyes on me I was nervous, call it performance anxiety.

I tried to shake it off by wiggling my arms and blubbering my lips, attempting to loosen up.

"Quit being nervous." Artemasia yelled to me.

"I’m not nervous you are. Aren’t you worried I’ll burn your soul?" I barked back.

Artemasia laughed. "Psshhh... No."

"I’ve been working on making golems for a while now, trying to construct temporary artificial souls, specifically for you I might add. They’re flimsy and it doesn’t take much to burn them since the souls are just concentrated amounts of my energy. But it should at least help with harnessing and focusing." Artemasia just shrugged.

I rolled my eyes, Artemasia always acted like any major feet she could accomplish could be easily overlooked or like her efforts were underwhelming.

They never were.

From the mud and ash, she’d collected and placed in the field earlier that day, a humanoid figure began forming from the molding lumping of mud.

Artemasia summoned energy into a ball in the palms of her hands. The hair rose around her as static charged the air around them. Artemasia pushed her hands out and slammed the energy orb into the muddy form and instantly it began to animate. Its body moving on its own accord now.

Once it started going it headed straight for me, its speed took me by surprise, but I quickly pivoted, I threw my hands into the air and then dragged them down, and a force slammed into the golem shoving it on to its knees.

This gave me my chance. I just did what felt right, closing my eyes I took a breath, in and out. Power began pulsing through me, starting from my navel and spreading through my body one throb at a time.

My body ignited. The golem was up and running toward me again, each millisecond it was closing the distance. I was running out of time, the golem got too close I had to release my focus and dodge the golems chaotic unpredictable movements.

This was going to be harder than I thought.
