Chapter 115: CP:115 Choose The Option

The volcanic chamber seemed to hold its breath.

Alex’s scream echoed off the obsidian walls, sharp and incredulous, startling even the distant rumble of lava flows far below. The six snakelings instantly woke in their carriers—Jade rearing up with a tiny hiss of alarm, Siddy lunging toward the sound of his mother’s voice, Sterling trying to climb higher for a better view, Onyx blinking sleepily, Ripple pressing tight against Alex’s ribs, and River tightening his calm coil around Alex’s wrist. Meanwhile, Drakar just watched the scene with extreme fascination.

Naga was at Alex’s side in an instant, coils sliding protectively around his waist while one clawed hand cupped the back of his neck.

"Alex?" Naga’s voice was low, urgent, serpentine pupils blown wide. "What is it? What did the system spirit say?"

Leo stepped forward on Alex’s other side, golden eyes flashing danger. "Talk to us. Now."

Meanwhile, Alex was busy glaring at system which has shrunk to the size of a furball.

[I was trying to help!]

It protested, its voice smaller than usual.

[You were so miserable when you first arrived! You kept talking about going back, about how much you hated it here, about how nothing mattered because it wasn’t real life!]

"That Wasn’t Your Decision To Make!"

System’s ears shot up, its own frustration breaking through.

[ Wasn’t it?! I’m your SYSTEM! My literal purpose is to guide you toward the best possible outcome! And your best outcome was NOT sitting in a cave crying yourself to sleep every night while refusing to engage with anything!]

"So you MANIPULATED me instead!"

[I gave you PURPOSE!]

System shot back.

[I gave you a GOAL! Something concrete to work toward that got you MOVING, got you MEETING PEOPLE, got you FORMING BONDS!]

The entity’s tail lashed violently.

[Look at what you have now! Three mates who would burn the world for you! Six beautiful children! Friends! A FAMILY! Would you have ANY of this if I’d told you on day one ’oh by the way, you have a long way to complete your mission—possibly by giving birth to multiples and saving the world once and for all so, you, might as well give up now’?!]

Alex opened his mouth to argue—

And stopped.

Because System wasn’t entirely wrong.

That first week after arriving in the Beast World, after waking up pregnant with Naga’s children, after realizing he was trapped in an impossible situation.

He had felt like giving up. He had found it meaningless.

The only thing that had kept him going was the belief that it was temporary. That if he just survived long enough, just completed the quest, just collected the seven stones, he could go home.

If he’d known the truth...

"I would have given up," he said quietly. "Completely. I would have just... stopped."

[Exactly,]

System said, its voice softening.

[And I couldn’t watch that happen. I couldn’t watch you fade away when there was so much potential for happiness here.]

[So yes, I lied. I told you the stones would let you go home. They still can. You can ressurect in your world like nothing happened. You’ll still be that Alex–the normal–biology college student. You’ll still continue with your normal life.]

[ But you’ll have to abandon everything you have now. Your mates who can’t mate with any other and will eventually die from mate deprivation. Your children who will become motherless at young age. Can you endure that? Are you that heartless? ]

[ So, for that very reason, I let you believe that for six months. And I’m NOT sorry for it.]

"You should be," Alex said, but the fury had drained out of his voice, leaving only exhaustion. "You should be sorry for taking away my choice. For deciding what was best for me without asking."

[I am sorry for that,]

System admitted.

[I am sorry I didn’t trust you to choose this life on your own. But I’m not sorry for the outcome. Look around, Host. LOOK at what you’ve built.]

The system’s ears flatten, tail tucked between its legs, looking genuinely sheepish for once.

" I’m not forgiving you so easily... but I’m letting it slide for now. You have to make up for it in the future. So tell me about my actual mission? No more lies, no more deception. " Alex said. His voice was softer now. Realizing the truth system’s words held. If system hadn’t done all that, if it didn’t push him to go further.... maybe he wouldn’t be here. Maybe he wouldn’t have achieve anything at all.

The system’s ears lit up.

[Okay, okay, the seven stones were the introductory quest! The gateway objective! The thing that proved you were capable of surviving and thriving in this world! Once you completed it, the system unlocked... the real main storyline.]

Alex’s mouth opened. Closed. Opened again.

"The real main storyline," he repeated flatly.

[Yes.]

"Which is...?"

The system hesitated—then the panel refreshed with new, horrifying clarity.

[Main Mission:

Bear Multiple Cubs And Save The Beast World; Progress: 3%

Sub-objectives (unlocked upon completion of Seven Stones):

• Establish permanent sanctuary territory (0%)

• Achieve Top-tier fertility status (currently: High fertility → Top-tier pending final evaluation)

• Form a minimum of five permanent, high-star mate bonds (currently: 3/5)

• Produce at least twenty viable offspring across multiple pregnancies (currently: 6/20)

• Unite at least four major beast tribes under a single protection pact (currently: 3/4 – Bear, Mer, Eagle)

Secret bonus objective: Convince an apex-tier being (Dragon Lord class or higher) to swear personal fealty (currently: 0%)]

Alex stared at the list.

Then stared at Drakar.

Then back at the list.

Then at his mates.

Then at his six sleeping (or semi-sleeping) children.

Then he laughed.

It started small—almost a hiccup—then grew until he had to brace one hand against Naga’s coils to stay upright. Tears ran down his face, but they weren’t entirely from panic.

Naga’s coils tightened in alarm. "Alex—?"

"I’m fine," Alex gasped between laughs. "I’m—oh my god—I’m fine. I just—" He wiped his eyes. "I thought I was almost done. I thought six months of running and almost dying and giving birth to six chaos noodles meant it would be over."

He looked at the system, which was now trying to hide behind its own tail—still feeling guilty.

"But no. No no no. The real mission is to become the ultimate baby factory, collect five top-tier husbands, save the entire beast world, and apparently turn Drakar into my personal attack dragon."

Drakar’s eyebrows rose so high they nearly disappeared into his flame mane.

"I beg your pardon?"

Alex waved a hand at him, still laughing helplessly. "Don’t worry about it. You’re just the secret bonus boss I apparently have to romance."

The Dragon Lord blinked slowly.

Twice.

Then he threw back his head and roared with laughter so loud it shook loose pebbles from the ceiling.

When he finally calmed, ruby eyes sparkling with genuine delight, he leaned forward.

"Little bearer," he rumbled, "you may be the most interesting creature to ever walk this world."

Alex wiped his face again, the laughter finally fading into exhausted hiccups.

"So what now?" he asked the system.

The kitty system peeked out, ears still flat.

[Now... you decide.]

[Option A: Return to Earth permanently. The seven-stone quest is complete. You will be resurrected in your world. Your mates, your children, everything you’ve built here... stays here. You resume your old life. Your sister. Your apartment. Normalcy.]

[Option B: Stay. Permanently. Build the sanctuary. Finish the main mission. Keep everyone. Raise twenty (or more) children. Unite the tribes. Turn this chaotic, dangerous, beautiful world into something safer for your family.]

[Option C: Hybrid. Open temporary portals. Spend time in both worlds. Raise the children with dual citizenship. Let them choose when they’re older.]

[No matter what you choose, the system will support you. No more time-limit pressure. No more forced urgency. You’ve earned the right to decide your ending.]

Alex looked around at his family.

Naga—fierce, possessive, loving, the first soul who he’d mated with in this world.

Leo—steady, protective, the warrior who’d crossed marshes and mountains just to hold his hand.

Zale—who’d left an entire ocean behind because Alex mattered more than tides.

Skye—still fragile, still healing, but trying to fly again, literally and figuratively.

Granite—solid, steady, the uncle figure who’d never once asked for anything in return.

And Drakar—ancient, terrifying, amused, already looking at Alex like he was the most fascinating puzzle the dragon had encountered in a millennium.

And six tiny snakelings—Jade, Ripple, Siddy, Sterling, Onyx, River—who’d never known Earth, who only knew this world, this family, this love.

Alex closed his eyes.

Took one long, steadying breath.

Opened them again.

"I choose C," he said softly.

" If I’m going to give birth again, I want it be easier and better facilities than before. And Earth has it all.

And I can meet my sister anytime I want and can come back anytime too. "
