I Was The Only Omega In The Beast World-Chapter 62: CP: Convincing The Bear Tribe
Then Granite stood—his full height making even the massive stone platform seem small.
The tribe collectively held its breath as their chief descended from the platform—each step deliberate, measured, the sound of his footfalls like distant thunder rolling down the mountain.
He stopped three paces from Alex.
This close, the size difference was staggering.
Granite towered over him, broad enough to eclipse the firelight, powerful enough that Alex could feel the raw strength radiating from him like heat.
But Alex didn’t step back.
He met Granite’s eyes steadily—not challenging, not submissive. Just... present.
"You speak well," Granite said quietly, voice low enough that only their small group could hear clearly.
"You understand politics, strategy, the weight of leadership." His hazel eyes studied Alex’s face with unsettling intensity. "You’re not like other bearers I’ve met."
[OH NO. OH NO NO NO. HERE WE GO.]
"I’ve had unusual experiences," Alex said carefully.
"Unusual," Granite repeated, a hint of something that might have been amusement flickering across his weathered face.
"That’s one word for it." He glanced at Naga and Leo.
"These are your mates?" 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"They are," Alex said firmly.
"And you’re carrying their cubs?"
"I am."
Granite nodded slowly—then did something that made the entire tribe gasp.
He knelt.
Not a full prostration—bears didn’t bow like that—but he lowered himself to one knee, bringing his eyes level with Alex’s.
"You say you can help ensure our tribe’s future," Granite said, voice carrying across the now-silent clearing.
"Prove it. Show me what your spirit guide can do. Demonstrate your abilities as you did for the wolves."
[QUEST ALERT: "Prove Your Worth to the Bears"
Objective: Demonstrate system capabilities
Audience: 300+ bears including Chief Granite
Reward: Potential trade negotiation for Bronze Stone
Pressure Level: EXTREMELY HIGH]
Alex’s mind raced. The wolves had needed healing and fertility—easy demonstrations with clear results. But what did the bears need?
Strength? They already had that.
Food? They’d just come out of hibernation hungry, but—
Wait.
"System," Alex whispered. "Food-related items in the shop. What do we have?"
[OH! OH YES! Checking now...]
[Preservation Salt (30 SP): Keeps food fresh for months, prevents spoilage
Fertility Grain Seeds (40 SP): Grows nutrient-dense crops even in poor soil
Honeycomb Regeneration Kit (50 SP): Allows cultivation of crystal honey bees
Cooking Skill Book: "From Terrible to Actually Decent" (50 SP)
Health Supplement Tablets (35 SP): Boosts strength and endurance, tastes like berries]
[WAIT WAIT WAIT—THE HONEYCOMB KIT! Bears LOVE honey and they just complained about not having crystal honey since before hibernation! If you could give them a sustainable SOURCE...]
"That’s perfect," Alex breathed.
He straightened, addressing Granite and the assembled tribe.
"You value strength and endurance," he said clearly.
"You value being able to provide for your tribe through harsh winters. And you value—above almost everything else—sweetness in a harsh world."
A few bears chuckled at that last part. It was true—bears were famous for their sweet tooth.
"I can’t make you stronger than you already are," Alex continued. "You’re bears—you’re already one of the strongest tribe in the Beast World. But what I CAN do is ensure you never go through another harsh hibernation worrying about whether your food stores will last."
He pulled up the system interface—the shimmer visible to everyone even if they couldn’t read the text.
"First demonstration," he said. "Something practical."
A small cloth pouch materialized in his hand—filled with crystalline salt that caught the firelight like diamonds.
"Preservation Salt," Alex announced. "A single pinch keeps meat fresh for months. No smoking required, no drying process. Just salt and storage. Your food stores would last twice as long—three times, if used carefully."
He tossed the pouch to Boulder, who caught it reflexively.
"Test it," Alex invited. "On anything. You’ll see."
Boulder opened the pouch, touched a finger to the salt, tasted it cautiously—then his eyes widened.
"It’s real," he said, stunned. " Like those from mer-tribe. No even better than that. I can feel the preservation magic in it."
Murmurs of excitement rippled through the tribe
" Mer-tribe?! There are mermaid here? " Alex wondered didn’t said it out loud.
"Second demonstration," Alex said.
Another item materialized—a small wooden box containing seeds.
"Fertility Grain," he explained. "Plant these near your territory—they’ll grow even in rocky mountain soil. The grain is twice as nutritious as normal crops, stores well, and the plants are hardy enough to survive early frost. Your food security increases significantly."
He handed the box to Granite directly.
The chief accepted it with both hands, studying the seeds with an expression of genuine interest.
"And third—" Alex pulled up the final item, and this one made him grin slightly. "This one’s special."
A beautiful carved wooden box appeared—intricate designs of bees and flowers etched into the lid.
"Honeycom— sugar syrup Regeneration Kit," Alex announced, and the entire tribe leaned forward as one.
"Inside this box is everything you need to cultivate your own crystal sugar syrup bees. The queen, the starter hive, instructions for care. Within one year, you’ll have your own sustainable source of crystal sugar syrup. Forever."
The clearing exploded.
Bears roared with excitement, cubs tumbled over each other trying to get closer, even the stoic advisors looked impressed.
Granite stared at the box like Alex had just handed him the moon.
"Sustainable," he repeated slowly. "Our own source. Not dependent on traders or luck or—"
"Or anything except caring for the hive," Alex confirmed. "Which I’m told bears are actually quite good at, when properly motivated."
[UNDERSTATEMENT! Bears are EXCELLENT beekeepers when they’re not just eating all the honey immediately!]
Granite opened the box carefully—inside, a small glowing queen bee hovered in stasis, surrounded by starter comb and a scroll of instructions.
His hands shook slightly.
"This is—" He looked up at Alex, and for the first time, genuine emotion broke through his weathered expression. "This is worth more than any gems. More than territory. This is..."
"A future,"
Alex said gently. "Where your tribe thrives instead of just survives. Where winters are easier. Where you have something valuable to trade with other territories. Where you never have to worry about food stores running low during hibernation."
He paused, letting that sink in.
"That’s what I’m offering," he said. "Not a temporary fix. Not a one-time miracle. A sustainable, permanent improvement to your tribe’s quality of life."
The crowd cheered.
