I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess-Chapter 309: Starbringer?
Chapter 309: Starbringer?
"And that’s how it all went down!" Millis stated, her hands placed on her hips as she faced Mirage, who stroked his chin with interest.
Mirage, having decided that it was best not to engage with the Assassin, in case their relationship were to worsen somehow, has chosen to turn to Millis to find out what happened.
So, for the past few minutes, Mirage had been listening keenly to Millis’s story about what had caused Marionette to be oddly upset.
And once finishing, the two threw a glance towards the unsuspecting Assassin who was none the wiser about what was going on.
Currently, she was still sitting at the metal table with a gloomy expression. However, she wasn’t alone, unlike when Mirage had gone to check on her.
This time, she was surrounded by some of the people she saved, who were trying to cheer her up. Albeit... Failing miserably due to the Assassin ignoring them.
Turning back to each other, Mirage then asked in a curious tone:
"Is that really what happened? Or... Are you making this up?"
Millis stared at her homeroom professor for a moment before smirking. She giggled and responded with:
"Heh! With how those two act with one another, it probably wouldn’t be farfetched to say that is what really happened!"
Mirage blinked at her, which caused the Heroine to feel offended.
"Look! I’m extremely good at reading people! What’s that look for, teach?!"
Mirage sighed at the fact that Millis had been telling him an entire fabricated degenerate story the entire time.
"Then, how did you know what Lillian was wearing? And did you need to go in-depth about them making out?"
"Oh! I saw her walk by when I was in one of those lounges. And the description of them kissing is incredibly important to the plot!"
Mirage sighed again.
Finding that there wasn’t any reason to continue with the detective work, he bid his student farewell before leaving.
As he was walking away, he glanced to the side, finding a ruckus being caused as a civilian screamed frustratedly about being kept inside the underground shelter against their will.
He sighed, watching as the guards took him away to calm him down.
He was hoping the people in charge of repairing the device in charge of the portals would hurry and send over their news.
He then found Reph walking over to him.
"Oh, Second Prince. what could I do for you?"
Reph, having made his way over to his professor, asked:
"Have you seen my father around?"
Mirage silently stared at the young man before shaking his head, "He’s currently doing something important, so I can’t tell you where he is. However..."
He raised his hand and pointed towards a hallway, "If you go in that direction and the 2nd room to the left, you’ll find the Queen and the Princess."
Reph nodded gratefully and immediately towards that direction.
Mirage, seeing that there wasn’t any more to do at the shelter, sent his consciousness back to his original body, which was still in the form of Louis.
Opening his eyes, he found Donatello watching the TV and the camera feed it was currently displaying, which... was showing what was going on the surface.
Donatello, finding that Louis had finally awoken from his sudden slumber, turned his attention back to him.
"You old fart. You must take care of yourself better; you shouldn’t suddenly fall asleep when talking to someone. Or had you recently developed a case of narcolepsy?"
Louis blinked at Luton’s headmaster before sighing.
Ignoring the man’s question, he asked:
"What were you going to say befo—"
"Did you know the missile shower had finally ended?"
Donatello, who was resting the bottom of his chin under his interlaced fingers, gestured towards the screen, causing Louis to look at it as well.
And he was right. The missile shower had indeed ended. But Louis had already known this through the countless illusions of himself he had spread over the realm.
"Yes... It finally ended, it seems. Thank Gods..."
Donatello slowly nodded before standing up from his seat. This alarmed Louis, who immediately got out of his seat as well.
He stared warily at the rivalling Academy’s headmaster. They were, after all, a Tier 5 mage just like Louis. On the same level? Mirage wasn’t sure, for he hadn’t seen either of them battle each other before.
Donatello raised his hands before his face, staring at his wrists that were connected by a metal cuff. He then sharply pulled his hand apart—
CHK!
—Ripping the links of the metal cuffs before moving his hands to the back of his head and fixing his long hair.
Donatello then opened his mouth and spoke:
"Right before we were interrupted, I was about to say something... Unfortunately, it seems I had run out of time for leisure chatter."
Louis narrowed his eyes, feeling a dark premonition brewing inside his heart as Donatello’s movements began to grow rather... Sinister as his fingers twitched erratically.
Raising his eyes from the man’s fingers, he looked into his eyes, finding staring at him creepily with an almost... dead look.
He then heard the man mutter in a hoarse voice as a glint of melancholy flashed through his eyes:
"It’s such a shame that this is what my body will be used for... The once powerful Starbringer..."
Donatello rapidly shot his hand towards the ceiling of the room before adding:
"I hope you can protect your academy, Louis... Or... Should I call you... Mirage?"
Louis widened his eyes, shocked at the man’s ability to see through the illusion covering his body.
How could he figure out his identity? He was sure his disguise was seamless.
Questions.
Countless questions.
Every single kind of question flashed through his mind.
But the only one that lingered and made itself distracting was... Was headmaster of the Luton academy the mastermind behind this entire attack the whole time?!
Breaking himself out of his stupor, he moved his attention towards the man’s hand, which radiated with a light so hot that it began to melt the inside of the room despite it being made of metal.
Time seemed to slow down as he watched Donatello bring down his hand in the shape of a blade, intending to slice through the table.
However, right as he was about to do it, the wall to their right suddenly broke apart into countless cubes. Following that was a golden-yellow blur.
"STARBRINGERRR!"
