Chapter 7: Awake

Uhm~

Levon woke up with a splitting headache and disoriented vision.

"Dammit! We are we?!!" A panicked voice cried from another corner.

Levon noticed it was a girl he hadn't seen before, probably because she was on another bus or something.

"See?! I knew it! I knew they were traffickers who wanted to sell us for money! Fuck that witch who calls herself my stepmother. She did this, didn't she?"

Another fell on his butt in shock and panic, too scared to think of what their captives would do with them next.

Many woke up, also feeling fearful.

"So noisy..."

Levon labeled these people as those he never wished to get close to.

Stupid was the right word for their actions.

Scanning his environment, Levon noticed they were in what seemed like a massive indoor assembly hall... particularly for a school?

Alright. There were no chairs or tables, just empty wooden grounds.

'I have to say, we are quite a lot.'

He could be wrong, he guessed 150 to 180.

Levon noticed what everyone wore and lowered his face thoughtfully.

'Although it's strange, these attires should be our school uniforms. So it's an academy, Afterall?'

Can he say he was looking forward to knowing how exactly they would be serving the masses?

Everyone wore the same bluish-black uniform.

Levon raised his brow expressionlessly. 'It seems I woke up later than most.'

The most he spoke of were the 6 he noticed earlier.

One of the 6 had already started working out shirtless in a corner, while others leaned against the walls on the floor as though sleeping, and carried on as they usually would.

A majority were panicked, rushing to the only double-sided door ahead, still banging at it with all their might.

"You sons of bitches better let us out!"

"Don't you know that what you're doing is illegal? You can't keep us here against our will!"

Those who were calm only gave a side-eye view to the constant noise around them.

Well, it was funny.

"And who the hell are you laughing at?"

"Yeah! Who do you think you are to laugh at us when we are trying to solve everyone's problem here?"

"Hmph! Just because you're pretty, you think you can do whatever it is you want?" Another girl aggressively questioned, with a hint of jealousy flashing through her eyes.

"You there, Card Girl, you vixen with the cards in her hand. I just saw you laugh! What? Do you think you're better than us? Huh?!!!"

The one he called card girl was a cute-faced girl with pigtails on both sides of her head.

Levon immediately recognized her.

She was on the bus with him earlier.

She was one of the calm ones in the room, who maneuvered her favorite card deck across her palms; everyone thought it was an illusion.

There was an air of danger and playfulness about this girl.

She had bubble gum in her mouth.

"Laughing?"

chuckled and blew her gum bigger and bigger, as if the boy before her was invisible.

Raising her cute pink-coated nail, she pointed at him.

"In case you might be slow, I was laughing at you."

"You-you-you- YOU BI-"

Swish!

The wind whistled.

It happened too fast.

Many stood frozen, especially the boy who now felt a sharp pain across his lips.

He was confused, not understanding what just happened.

However, seeing everyone's horrid faces, he had a bad premonition in his heart.

Plack, Plack~

A faint splattering noise echoed in his ears.

He raised his shaky hands with uncontrollable tremors toward his lips, his words now feeling too painful to spit out.

"You—Ahhhh!"

It hurt like hell!

He found that whenever he tried speaking, a thousand fish hooks would tear his flesh in all directions.

GRAAHHHH!

It was too agonizing.

He said nothing, but his eyes conveyed his words all too well.

[What have you done to me, BITCH?]

Blood...

An immeasurable amount of blood covered the lower half of his face, endlessly dripping from the long cuts at the corners of his lips.

It was as though someone had a sharp dagger and tried to broaden his mouth as wide as they could.

TOO SCARY.

The hearts of the spectator's sank.

It took less than 2 seconds for their bodies to re-appear several feet away from the psycho Card girl they crowded earlier.

Was it magic? Did they suddenly develop the ability to teleport?

Fear, they say... does wonders to the human body.

They lowered their heads, not taking to meet her eyes.

"Horrible! How can we be in the same room with such a person?"

"How can those bastard traffickers allow this Card girl to enter the hall with deadly weapons?"

"Hey... who knew the edge of a card could be so sharp and dangerous?"

Now, no one saw her cards as anything but ordinary.

Many whispered among themselves, swearing to never provoke Card girl in this lifetime.

Who knows if she will kill them at night one day?

This... this...

Many wanted to scream for help from their traffickers, but dared not risk being targeted by Card Girl.

Mommy...

They wanted to go home so badly.

"I regret it."

"Yeah. I regret why I was so troublesome at home. Go to school, study hard, move out of their home, and live the way I want to. Why was it so hard for me to do it earlier?"

"Dammit! If I can go back in time, I would smack my former self to death for getting themselves into this mess! What a BASTARD!"

...

Regret, fear, remorse, intrigue...

The atmosphere had changed since blood spilled.

The little girl, dubbed Card girl, calmly raised her head with a cute smile on her lips.

However, not many thought she was cute anymore.

The Devil's incarnate, was more like it.

"Big brother, you'll be the better man and forgive me for my playfulness, right? After all, I was only educating you for your worthless mother. It's she who couldn't even do a good job of telling you that no girl should ever be called the name you just gave me."

B.I.T.C.H.

"A proper man knows when to curl his tongue, don't you agree?"

Many inwardly took note of this, understanding it was very resourceful to avoid stepping on this wild cat's tail lest they too end up with widened, slit-cut mouths.

Just then, another voice bellowed.

"Eh? What's happening? Who the hell is making so much noise when this mommy is trying to get some sleep?"

Sleep? At a time like this?

Many had true tears in their eyes and wished to cry. Sadly, they were afraid of annoying a certain girl with cards.

Another girl who was sleeping beside Card Girl asked with a lazy and tired demeanor, causing everyone to suck in their breaths, looking at her in pity.

It's over. It's over.

'Now you've done it! Fair well, girl who we never knew.'

Seeing Card Girl prance on the awakened girl, they knew she was a goner. They were even imagining what her casket would look like when she's buried in it.

"Boss! You're awake!"

Yes, yes, yes... that's the right reaction. You should call her B–

WHAT? BOSS?

Several people froze in stupor.

What the hell was this script?

"Wait...I... I think I know these girls." One of the boys whispered to another.

"The one with the small tattoo, the one who just woke up, the one called Boss... I can't be mistaken... that's, that's Floriana Micasumi! Her father is one of the most feared gang leaders in the city!"

The daughter of a deadly Mafia leader?

The daughter of a revered Gang Leader?

Thank you brave comrade, for telling us.

Many also marked her with an X in their hearts. But the boy narrating wasn't done yet.

"I think Yimu, her first lieutenant, is the one you call Card Girl. Now I remember... They say she is wicked fast with her card attacks."

"The other one beside her is Rita, her 2nd Lieutenant. This girl is most distinguished for always having a toothpick in her mouth, no matter what time of day you meet her... They even say she brushes her tooth with a toothbrush on one side, and a toothpick on the other."

"The 3 run a deadly crew called the Butterfly Gang. The gang consists of 45 girls who carry out special operations for her father."

"They say Floriana, the gang leader, took on her first mission at the age of 5."

HISS~

Many sucked in their air.

Sure enough, it's never too late to start taking over your Father's business.

The information they got was too terrifying. And even the temperature of the speaker, forcing the words out his trembling lips in horror the more he retold.

"Listen here... I can only say that anyone who goes after these girls has never ended up well."
