Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Sharon Quincy Got Excited

"President Nathan, the young lady looks furious. Why don’t we wait until she’s calmed down to discuss this?" The bodyguard felt it was no solution for Linden Nathan and his daughter to keep on like this.

He didn’t understand. The Linden Nathan he knew before had always wanted to give his daughter everything. Why was he now giving shares to an outsider?

Linden Nathan gave a soft "mm," neither agreeing nor refusing.

Just as the bodyguard was about to say more, Cecilia opened the door.

This time, she was all dressed. Seeing the bodyguard’s surprised look, Cecilia smiled faintly. "Let’s go."

’They’d need my signature to transfer the shares anyway.’

’And since Walter Wallace has confessed to everything, this is the perfect chance to let Linden Nathan see what his precious goddaughter is really like.’

"Contact Sharon Quincy. She needs to be there to sign the share agreement."

With that, Cecilia was the first to walk out.

The bodyguard was still on the phone, and after hearing what Cecilia said, Linden Nathan felt a pang of guilt.

"Tell Cecilia it’s just a small portion of the shares, not worth much. Tell her not to worry."

Linden Nathan wanted to explain further, but the bodyguard had already lost sight of Cecilia.

"President Nathan, the young lady... she’s already gone."

Meanwhile, Sharon Quincy was shopping at a luxury boutique, completely oblivious to the impending crisis.

When the bodyguard called, Sharon was admiring a row of high-end luxury jewelry.

"Miss Sharon, if you’re free, you can come over to sign the documents. President Nathan and the young lady will be here shortly."

Hearing this, Sharon’s gloom vanished in an instant.

She had only mentioned the shares casually, never expecting Linden Nathan to agree so quickly.

Even if it was just a small portion, she would now be a shareholder of the Nathan Group.

"Ma’am, the total for the jewelry you’ve selected comes to thirty million. Are you sure you want all of it?" the sales clerk asked again, seeing her good mood but still feeling apprehensive.

Sharon looked at the row of sparkling jewels, thought about how she was about to become a shareholder in the Nathan family’s business, and smiled breezily. "Wrap them all up for me."

’I’m about to become part of the Nathan Family. Thirty million will be nothing. Soon, I’ll be able to drop three hundred million without a second thought.’

"Deliver these to this address."

Sharon jotted down the address and handed it to the clerk.

Once the agreement was signed, she planned to give some of the jewelry to Cecilia and keep the rest for herself.

’I’ll just consider it a reward for taking over the shares.’

Elsewhere, the bodyguard caught up with Cecilia and drove her to the meeting place Linden Nathan had arranged.

It was the Nathan Family’s branch office in Korsyth, located right in the heart of the business district. The company handled foreign trade and usually kept a low profile.

When Linden Nathan arrived, the branch office staff had already been notified and had quickly prepared a space for him.

Linden Nathan had barely taken his seat when Cecilia arrived.

Seeing Cecilia again, Linden Nathan felt a mix of nervousness and guilt.

He sighed and slowly approached her. "Cecilia..."

Cecilia set down her cup, her expression impassive. "If you have something to say, just say it."

"About the shares, if you don’t agree, I can tell Sharon we’ll discuss it later." Linden Nathan paused. "But you can’t keep seeing that Miles Sinclair."

"You can be with Damian Hawthorne for all I care. But that Miles Sinclair... you can tell just by looking at him that he’s no good."

Cecilia lowered her eyes, a sarcastic smile playing on her lips. "You should be happy he’s not dead. Why are you so hostile toward him? Is it just because he doesn’t come from a wealthy family?"

"How does that make you any different from Frances Bennett?"

"That’s not the reason." Linden Nathan took a deep breath, hesitating over whether to tell Cecilia the secret he was hiding. Just then, a knock came at the door.

"President Nathan, Miss Sharon is here."

Sharon Quincy had changed into a new designer outfit for the occasion.

In front of Linden Nathan, Sharon didn’t dare provoke Cecilia. Her tone and attitude were completely respectful.

"Miss Nathan... thank you for agreeing to Godfather’s proposal... I know this business with the shares is only a disadvantage for you, but please rest assured, I’ll listen to you in all things from now on. I’d even be willing if you decided to take the shares back." Sharon had made up her mind to maintain a good attitude this time.

’As long as I get my hands on those shares, my position in the Nathan Family will be secure.’

"Why would I take the shares back?" Cecilia smiled, waving her hand dismissively. "I’ll give you half of my shares."

"Half..." Sharon was stunned. She glanced at Linden Nathan and saw that, as expected, his expression was awful.

"Miss Nathan, you must be joking... How could I be qualified to take half of your shares? Godfather said five percent would be more than enough to set me up for life. Any more than that... I really can’t accept it." Sharon had no idea what Cecilia was plotting. Even though the offer of half the shares was incredibly tempting, she knew she couldn’t take it.

"You’re my father’s goddaughter. You were the one who showed him filial piety in my place when I was away. My father himself said you’re like a second daughter to him, so it’s only right that you get half." With that, Cecilia took out the document and signed it.

Seeing the words "transfer fifty percent of shares" on the document, Sharon’s heart leaped. She thought she must be seeing things.

’Cecilia is actually giving me fifty percent of the shares?’

Sharon was apprehensive, but also thrilled.

’It looks like Cecilia and Linden Nathan have had a complete falling out. She doesn’t even want her shares anymore.’

Linden Nathan watched Cecilia sign her name, his expression turning exceptionally ugly.

"Cecilia, are you really going to give half of your shares to Sharon?"

With Sharon present, Linden Nathan found it difficult to stop Cecilia. He had expected her to resist in some way, but he never imagined she would act so recklessly and transfer half of her shares to Sharon Quincy.

Cecilia was his biological daughter. If she transferred half her shares, she would lose her voice at the shareholder meetings.

Over time, the Nathan Corporation would no longer belong to the Nathan Family.

Linden Nathan would absolutely not allow that to happen.

"Let’s discuss the shares in a couple of days..." Linden Nathan suddenly felt a headache coming on.

His daughter had always been stubborn. He had intended to use Sharon to provoke her, but he never expected things to spiral so far out of control.

"We don’t need a couple of days. Let’s do it today." Cecilia tossed the contract to Sharon. "Sign it."

Sharon hesitated, looking toward Linden Nathan. His attitude just now had made it clear that if she really accepted these shares, her future would likely be difficult.

Linden Nathan might even start to think she was insatiably greedy.

"This..." Sharon looked at Linden Nathan. "Godfather, please talk some sense into her. I... I don’t need this many shares."

’Even though my heart is pounding, I don’t dare take them.’

"Either take fifty percent of the shares, or don’t take any at all." Cecilia narrowed her eyes, crossed her arms, and looked at her father. "Why don’t you choose for her?"
