Chapter 19 - Big Sister

Nom! Nom! Nom! Nom!

Gulp! Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!

"Young Master, slow down! I don't want you to choke on your food and water!" Serene fretted as she hurriedly set down another tray of steaming dishes on the table.

Her brows knit together as she watched Luka devour his meal like a starved animal, barely pausing to breathe.

He ignored her as he continued to shovel food into his mouth with reckless abandon, chasing it down with gulps of water as if afraid someone might snatch it away.

Even Snow was in no better shape.

The little dragon lay sprawled on his back on the table, his belly swollen and round, his tiny limbs twitching occasionally in sheer contentment.

Every now and then, he let out a satisfied huff, his tiny nostrils flaring as he exhaled warm puffs of air.

Serene's eyes softened as she glanced at the bloated baby dragon. "This little guy really is adorable," she murmured, a small smile curling on her lips.

She turned her gaze back to Luka, admiration flickering in her expression.

"It was truly kind of you to take him in. Not many would bother saving an abandoned baby dragon left to fend for itself in the forest. You really are a good man, Young Master."

Luka, reclining lazily in his chair, gave a dismissive wave of his hand. "Indeed, I am a good man," he said smugly, patting his stomach, which now felt tight and overfilled.

A slow, satisfied sigh escaped his lips as he sank deeper into his seat.

"And now, I am completely full..."

He closed his eyes for a moment, basking in the comforting haze of a well-earned feast.

Luka's body felt warm, sluggish, and, for the first time in hours, truly at ease.

Snow let out a tiny hiccup, his wings twitching slightly.

Serene chuckled. "Honestly, you two eat like you've never seen food before." She shook her head, then began gathering the empty plates.

"Well, at least you're both satisfied. Try not to fall asleep at the table, Young Master."

"No promises..." Luka merely groaned in response, tilting his head back as he rubbed his stomach.

Stretching his arms, he slowly sat up, pushing his chair back before sliding it neatly into place.

He rolled his shoulders and stretched a little more, loosening up his entire body after such a heavy meal.

"Alright, little guy," Luka said, glancing at the baby dragon. "We need a bath... then go straight to bed."

Snow let out a small, tired growl in response.

He wiggled in an attempt to get up, but his round belly made it nearly impossible.

He struggled, his tiny limbs quivering as he tried to push himself up—only to wobble and topple over, landing face-first into the mashed potatoes with a soft, defeated plop.

Snow blinked in confusion, letting out a defeated little huff.

Luka chuckled at the sight, shaking his head. "Looks like you've eaten a bit too much, huh?"

He reached over the table, scooping up the baby dragon with ease.

Snow let out a contented chirp.

Luka adjusted his hold.

"Well, I don't blame you."

"Surprise!"

Out of nowhere, Luka, who had been sleeping like a baby, was jolted awake by a loud, feminine voice.

Before he could even process what was happening, something landed hard on his stomach with a thud, forcing the air from his lungs.

His eyes snapped wide open. "What the—!?" He tried to sit up, but an unbearable weight pressed him down, pinning him firmly against the bed.

"Did you miss me?"

The voice was smooth, teasing, yet oddly dangerous.

As Luka's groggy mind adjusted, his vision cleared, revealing a tall young woman sitting atop him.

She had long, flowing black hair with sharp bangs framing her face, and her dark eyes were deep enough to feel like they could swallow him whole.

She wore a fitted navy-blue jacket with intricate silver embroidery, cinched neatly at the waist.

Underneath, a crisp white blouse was fastened with a silver brooch, perfectly paired with a pleated navy skirt.

A crimson-trimmed cape draped over her shoulders.

'Wait... Isn't that the Academy's uniform? Also—why is there a woman on top of me!?' Luka thought to himself.

The woman leaned in slightly, her sharp gaze piercing into him.

"Don't tell me..." she drawled, her tone dropping to something dangerously low, "my dear little brother forgot that I was returning today...?"

Luka's thoughts ground to a halt.

A bead of sweat trickled down his temple.

Such a stare felt like a blade at his throat.

'This woman is crazy!'

"No, no, no! Why would I ever forget that my wonderful big sister was coming back today?" Luka forced out a nervous chuckle, waving his hands in mock reassurance.

Kai's dark expression instantly melted into a wide, satisfied smile.

"I knew it! Of course, my adorable little brother would never forget me."

Without warning, she wrapped her arms around him in a suffocating embrace.

'Crazy and violent,' Luka thought.

Suddenly, Kai's sharp gaze shifted to the side. Her eyes widened with curiosity. "Ah! I wanted to ask you..."

She pointed toward the small dragon curled up nearby. "When did you get a baby dragon? And why is it so small?"

At this, Snow's eyes narrowed in irritation.

He puffed out his chest, trying his hardest to appear larger than he was, but it was a futile effort.

Luka glanced over. "Snow? Like I told my personal maid, I found him abandoned in the forest. He was all alone, so I decided to take him in."

Kai's eyebrows rose in interest. "You aren't thinking of selling him, are you? Because if you are, I know a few people who'd pay a hefty price for him."

Luka shot her a stern look, shaking his head without missing a beat. "Never! This little guy is worth more than mere coins!"

'Why in the holy hell would I sell such an overpowered future dragon!? That would be beyond idiotic!'

A smirk tugged at the corners of Kai's lips.

"Well, that's good. At least you have a genuine relationship with the baby dragon."

Luka, slightly exasperated, let out a small sigh. "Now, can you get off of me?" He asked, trying his best to remain polite despite the uncomfortable position.

A mischievous glint appeared in Kai's dark eyes.

"Oh? I thought you'd enjoy the company, little brother," she teased, but after a moment, she finally relented and stood up, stepping off the bed with a dramatic flourish.

"Thank you," Luka muttered.
