Chapter 111: Care With Benefits

The nurse uniform, or whatever version of one Evelina had conjured, hung in her hands like a prize, faintly humming with demonic energy.

I stared at it. My mind tried to compute the absurdity of the situation: crimson rainstorm, hundreds of professors and students melting or fleeing, and now... cosplay nursing.

"...You’re serious," I muttered, blinking.

"I’m very serious," Evelina replied, stepping closer. Her eyes glimmered—not with threat, exactly, but with that strange mixture of authority and mischief only she could pull off.

"Your mind’s a mess. You’re exhausted. And I happen to know a way to fix that."

[Quick Change]

She tapped her uniform once. The fabric shimmered as it shifted, and the nurse’s outfit in her hands vanished as she immediately donned it.

Succubus magic always had its perks, huh?

Once again, she pushed me back onto the bed. Before I could stand, she had already slid her leg between mine, looming over me as she began to unbutton my bloodied, tattered uniform.

"Gods... you’re a mess."

She laughs.

"Cleaning me won’t make me perform better, y’know?"

"Why are you such a prude in the worst possible situations?"

Evelina rolled her eyes. She knew what I fantasized about already. Knew that I already imagined this situation with her once before.

"Besides, you’re too independent sometimes... at least let me be a normal lover and actually let me take care of you for once.

Her fingers didn’t stop moving as she spoke. One by one, the buttons slipped free, the ruined fabric peeling apart like it had already given up.

The uniform had been through hell. Burn marks, dried blood, holes torn clean through by spells that had already healed over on my skin. When she tugged it off my shoulders, it slid down without resistance and hit the floor with a damp, pathetic thud.

Cold air brushed against my chest.

Only then did I really look down.

Even with regeneration, it wasn’t pretty. Faint bruising lingered beneath my skin, thin red lines mapped where beams had pierced straight through me, and patches of darker discoloration marked where gravity or fire had crushed me flat before my body stitched itself back together.

Nothing life-threatening, and nothing that actually hurt. Just simple scars that would heal after my mind is back in focus.

But it looked like I’d crawled out of a warzone.

Evelina clicked her tongue softly.

"...Disgusting."

"That’s kinda rude," I muttered.

"Not you. Them."

She grabbed one of the towels and dipped it into a nearby basin. Warm water soaked through the cloth, steam rising faintly into the air. Before I could protest again, she pressed it against my chest and started wiping away the dried blood like this was the most natural thing in the world.

Only now did I really get a proper look at what she’d changed into.

Calling it a "nurse uniform" was being generous.

It resembled one in the same way a dagger resembled a kitchen knife.

White fabric clung to her frame like it had been tailored by sin itself, hugging every curve with unfair precision. The top was snug, far too snug to be regulation anything—with short sleeves that barely covered her shoulders and a collar that dipped just low enough to be distracting without technically crossing any lines.

Not that the line mattered to her.

Or the succubus.

The hem stopped criminally high on her thighs, the skirt swaying with every small movement, slit just enough on the side to make it obvious that practicality had never once been considered in its design.

Black accents traced the seams like veins, faintly glowing whenever demonic energy pulsed through her.

Definitely not academy-approved.

And the stockings—

Of course there were stockings.

Thin, dark fabric hugging her legs up to mid-thigh, held in place by delicate bands that looked more decorative than functional.

It was the worst possible combination.

Elegant.

Dangerous.

And unfairly attractive.

I dragged a hand down my face and let out a slow breath.

This wasn’t fair.

There were professors out there missing limbs. Entire buildings had been reduced to slag. Observers were probably filing incident reports by the dozen.

And here I was, half-naked on a hospital bed while the most dangerous girl in the academy played nurse.

"You’re staring," Evelina said casually.

"I’m not going to pretend to hold back; you started this after all," I replied.

"Be sure to have your fill then, not often that I do something like this." She giggled. "Although I do kind of like it, it’s a lot more comfortable than usual noble attire."

At this point, she was already part succubus. Of course, attire like that would be like second skin for her.

She dipped the towel back into the basin, squeezing it out with slow, deliberate movements. Warm water dripped down her fingers, sliding along pale skin before falling back into the bowl. Then she pressed the cloth against my chest again.

The heat seeped in immediately.

Not enough to hurt.

Just enough to relax muscles I didn’t even realize were still tense.

She wiped carefully, methodically, like she was cleaning something fragile instead of someone who had just been blown apart a dozen times.

Across my collarbone. Down my ribs. Around the darker bruising.

Her touch was steady. Gentle.

Way gentler than someone capable of summoning a demonic storm that erased a city block.

"...They really did a number on you," she muttered.

"It looks worse than it is."

"I know," she said. "That’s not what annoys me."

Her expression tightened slightly.

Like the world itself had overstepped its bounds.

For a second, I remembered the way the rain had avoided me. How every droplet curved away like I didn’t have permission to be harmed.

She hadn’t just cast that spell.

She’d controlled it.

Down to the last inch.

"...You were worried, weren’t you?" I teased.

"Of course I was..."

"You already know I wouldn’t die. Besides, observers were watching."

"Yes..."

Her hand paused for just a fraction of a second before continuing.

"...Doesn’t mean I liked seeing it though," she sighed. "It terrifies me, y’know? What if something goes wrong and you actually go down?

Then she shook her head, realizing that she suddenly gotten way too serious despite the supposed "Nurse roleplay" she was supposed to act.

"Nevermind." She chuckled.

"Let’s... do something indulgent. Clear your head a little, okay~?"
