Chapter 206: Chapter 206: When x hits the fan

"I told you they were intelligent. Only a genius would realize that siding with us is the only way to prove they don’t have brains in their knees."

Trent finally exhaled, a sound that lasted a full ten seconds. "I think my soul just left my body and filed for a restraining order against you. Fortunately, they didn’t punish me."

"Wouldn’t they be too petty to punish you? Even if they did, I would have protected you. So don’t worry too much about that."

Leo patted him on the back, then looked over at the Watchdog representative, who was staring at him with a gaze that could melt lead.

Leo didn’t flinch. Instead, he smiled at the man and picked up his briefcase. "Come on, Trent. We have a company to run and a ’missing’ brother to not find. Also, remind me to fire those lawyers. They didn’t say a word, and I think one of them fell asleep during my ’pig brain’ monologue."

"But..." The lawyers of the Alpha Corp went wide eyed at Leo’s words, watching him walk away while fiddling with his communicator.

However, just then, they received a notification.

They checked their communicators, and read the message from their bank. They had received the complete payment. Not only that, they had even received a bonus from Leo.

They couldn’t help but wonder, just what kind of a man was this young human. He said one thing, but did the completely opposite thing.

He was so unpredictable that even his team couldn’t understand him. Despite that, they had quite a good impression of this thing man, realising that he was just messing around with them.

"We look forward to working with you again." They told Leo, raising their voice.

Leo simply waived his hand, without answering them or looking back.

He was soon next to the exit, but his gaze couldn’t help but move over to a masked man, sitting in the last row.

After a casual glance at the man who stood out from the others here, especially because of his mask, Leo stepped out of the hall.

"Aren’t we going to discuss the compensation with the Watchdogs? Or are we going back right away?"

"We don’t need to discuss anything. And I’m certain that man doesn’t have the right to discuss something like that. After all, we are talking about their entire yearly expenditure, which would be enough to ruin them."

Leo didn’t know the real identity of the man who represented the Watchdogs. However, he was certain that someone who could be dispatched for this case, his authority in the headquarters wasn’t going to be too high.

He was more like a significant member who was no different than an errand boy for the headquarters.

After all, with the way the judges talked to him, his identity couldn’t be that scary. There was no point in talking with a man who couldn’t make the decision.

Leo wanted to wait for the real person of authority, especially since he wanted something really specific from them.

As the deadline for the compensation drew closer, he was certain that everyone was going to come begging from him to lower the compensation.

He needed their desperation, and he had plenty of time for that. After all, they only had two days to find his brother and hand him over if they wanted to avoid it.

At this point, could they really find his brother? Even if they found out that he was the so called brother, no one was going to believe them.

It was a complete check and mate. Moreover, it was mostly thanks to the fact that he had become the sovereign of earth.

"Sometimes luck can be a really unexpected things. If so much hadn’t happened with earth, things might not have been moved so swiftly."

On his way back, quite a few people came over and greeted him. Most of them were laughing while gloating over the take of the Watchdogs, telling Leo to take every single penny from them.

On the way, he also met a few members of the Galactic Union, that had come as a representative. Their presence had also helped him quite a lot.

Leo might not have paid attention to anyone else, but he really paid attention to them.

It was also because he wanted to learn from them about the events taking place in the galactic related to the Ancient Houses.

From the moment Leo had learned that the Prince hadn’t returned and that such a mess was created because of him, he didn’t dare to contact the Galactic Union as the so-called envoy, especially since the fact that he wasn’t an Envoy might have already been exposed.

The only thing worth the celebration was that no one knew that he was from earth. His real identity was a mystery, even from Necropolis. After all, earth wasn’t the only planet which had humans.

Worried that the Galactic Union might try to find him for the Necropolis, he had long turned off the device that he had robbed from the Union.

He could only rely on the news but there was barely anything about the Ancient Houses.

With all other doors closed, he could only rely on these members to learn about the events that were taking place.

However, as he heard from them, his expressions twisted into disbelief.

His lips started twitching, especially since what they told him, was truly unbelievable.

According to them, the relationship between the three ancient houses was at the lowest it had ever been, especially since a body was discovered on a relay star.

As for the body, it was none other than the son of the Ancient House, one that Leo had kidnapped.

It was that man, who was to be handed over to his family after Leo escaped successfully.

Unfortunately, the man was indeed returned, but not by them. Moreover, he didn’t return as a living being, but as a corpse.

It was also a recent event, as the body was only found a few days ago. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Leo couldn’t help but rubbed his forehead, realising that things were really as bad as they could be, especially for him of his identity as the envoy was exposed.
