I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!-Chapter 212: Junior
"Who are you?" Trent asked, unable to take the safety of his people out of his mind.
Even though his staff members appeared to only have passed out, it didn’t mean that they were safe. After all, a man who could take them out so swiftly, couldn’t be any simpler.
He really wanted to call Ulen and Yang to protect this place, but he couldn’t even find an opportunity to contact them as the man was looking straight at him.
"As I said, you don’t have to worry. I’m not here to hurt you. I only wanted to meet your boss." The man casually looked back towards the empty chair in the office. "Unfortunately, it seems like he’s not here."
"Would you be kind enough to tell me where I might be able to find him?" he asked, appearing right next to Trent, placing a hand on his shoulder. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"I don’t know where he is. But even if I did know, what makes you think I would tell you his whereabouts?"
Although Trent had a massive body, and wasn’t weak by any standards, he was still a little scared on the inside.
After spending so much time with Leo, he had already seen a lot of the world. He had come across many powerful people. He had even been to the Central Court of Justice which was filled with the powerhouse of the world.
He didn’t get any such overwhelming feeling from the man, but he was still a little scared. As the man was looking for Leo, he could only be certain that this was an enemy.
"You don’t know?" The man asked.
Before Trent could react, he felt his communicator being taken out of his pocket by the man.
"Hey, return that to me!" He called out, but the man had already created distance from him, returning to the office.
The mysterious man was able to open the communicator with great ease, even bypassing the authentication.
He checked the messages, and was able to verify Trent’s words.
"It looks like you were right. You don’t know where he is..." He placed the communicator back on the table, letting out a sigh of relief. "Thank god."
"He’s thanking god?" Trent looked at the man weirdly, wondering why he was so relieved.
"I thought that I did something bad for him to ignore me. Fortunately, it wasn’t me."
The man looked extremely relieved that he wasn’t the one at fault, his expressions behind the mask soothing.
He slowly stood up, and walked out of the office.
"Don’t worry about your staff members. They will wake up in a few minutes. Just as I told you, I didn’t use anything harmful on them. If anything, they would only feel more relaxed after waking up."
He walked past Trent, as if he didn’t care even the slightest about the entire scene he had caused.
The man’s behaviour was really weird to the point that even Trent was at a loss of words. Was this man an enemy? Or was he just a really weird guest?
He followed Trent out of the building, and saw the mysterious man returning to a ship that was stationed outside.
"I will see you later, Junior." The unknown man said, waving his hand as he entered the ship without looking back.
The doors of the ship closed. However, Trent was still at a loss of words.
He didn’t see that ship before, but strangely, it had the symbol of Alpha Corporation.
The mysterious man was part of the Alpha Corp? Is that why he called him a Junior? He still couldn’t make sense of it.
The Alpha Corporation had many industries under it, but he knew almost all the leaders. He had even worked with a few of them, like the girl who led the Alpha Labs. However, he had never seen such a person.
For a moment, he even wondered if this man was also using a fake ship like they had used the fake ship of the Galactic Union to infiltrate the Lionel Family.
He soon shook that thought off since it made even less sense.
"Just who exactly was that?" Trent wondered, watching the ship rise in the air.
"Umm? Boss, what are you doing outside?"
While Trent was looking at the sky where the ship had disappeared, he heard the voice of the guard who had passed out, outside the bank.
Trent turned back, and checked the man’s condition. He was surprised to find out that the man really looked better. There truly were no adverse effects.
He entered the building and noticed that others had also started waking up.
Trent watched as the rest of the executive floor slowly stirred to life. Secretaries rubbed their eyes, and security elites picked up their dropped weapons, looking around in utter confusion.
"Report," Trent frowned, his voice carrying the commanding weight he had gained over the last few months. "Status of the vaults? Mainframe integrity?"
A middle aged woman, still massaging the back of her neck, typed rapidly on her console.
"Vaults are secure, sir. No unauthorized access. Mainframe shows... wait. There’s a ghost log in the local comms relay, but nothing was extracted. He just... read your messages."
Trent rubbed his forehead in frustration. The masked man hadn’t been lying. He truly had just dropped in, bypassed a multi-billion-credit security grid, incapacitated a highly trained defense force by putting them to sleep, checked Trent’s phone to soothe his own insecurities, and left.
"Get Ulen and Yang on the secure line," Trent ordered, striding back into his office and slamming the heavy doors shut. "Tell them to get here immediately. We have a massive security hole, and I think someone in Alpha Corp is involved."
Less than twenty minutes later, the two city-builders were standing in Trent’s office, reviewing the holographic security footage.
Yang crossed his massive, tree-trunk arms, his brow furrowed as he watched the masked man casually toss the glowing green seed.
"I could have taken him," Yang grunted, though there was a rare hint of hesitation in his voice. "He lacks presence. No warrior’s aura."
