Chapter 253: Chapter 253: False Identity

If Leo hadn’t already used a loophole to burn a massive amount of money, practically guaranteeing a loss this time, he would have been crying tears of joy in sheer shock.

Still, that didn’t mean he wasn’t caught off guard by the additional deficit. If anything, the extra loss came as a delightful bonus, making him want to frame the system screen and hang it on his wall.

"If only this company were pulling in these kinds of losses every month, would I even have room to complain?" he mumbled happily.

At this point, he had almost everything he needed to settle down somewhere else and start from scratch.

However, having learned his lesson from last time, he was planning to do everything exactly right on this attempt.

Once he had finished looking at the system report, he received a ping on his communicator.

He quickly checked the message, and found it to be from an unknown number. However, the message did inform him that his bank had received the money...

It was a message from his System’s bank, which was unregistered in the global systems, but it was still able to work under the radar miraculously.

It was as if there was an unknown power that kept the transactions to and from this bank, from being detected or being suspected.

As for the number mentioned in the system, Leo had to count it twice. After all, there were just so many zeroes that he was worried that he might miss a few.

Now, even though his company was almost bankrupt, his personal bank account had an amount that would’ve made even Skrax gasp in shock.

After all, just the amount of money that Leo had distributed through loans was massive. It had come after selling various untraceable treasures that he had taken from Necropolis.

Just the value of those treasures was enough to fund their entire space sector for months, and even help make a massive battle fleet.

Now he had more than twice that amount in his bank. With that money, if he wanted, he could create another company that was as massive as Alpha Corporation, if not bigger.

"Should I go to that place? I did have him create a fake identity for me in the past. But he does know that I have a link with the so-called envoy. Would he give me away?"

After the initial wave of excitement passed, Leo sat back on the seat which looked no less than a throne.

He was still wondering about the identity that he had asked the Galactic Union’s leader to create for him when he was pretending to be an envoy.

He still hadn’t checked that identity. After all, he only wanted to use that fake identity to bid on his own company to increase its stock value.

Unfortunately, he had failed and the minority shares were bought by an unknown person.

He thought he was going to see that person in the future, but that person never appeared before him.

Even now, Leo was wondering who that angel was, that had wasted so much money, increasing the value of his company even more than he had planned.

In any case, after that bidding war was over, he hadn’t really done much with the identity. He didn’t even know that the identity was of a noble within the planet of the Galactic Union leader.

Without realising that, Leo had already set the destination for the planet of the Galactic Union Leader.

After all, he was the leader of this massive organisation. Even if it was a temporary position that was going to change after a few years to another major clan leader, it didn’t matter.

For now, it looked to be the safest place within the Central Region, and with the highest potential.

He was still quite conflicted. Should he use the fake identity that he had asked the Galactic Union leader to create? Or should he bribe a few people to get a small identity card which had no link to his real identity.

In his pocket, he still had the identity card that was delivered to him in the past. It had his name, and the home planet was mentioned as the planet of the Galactic Union Leader.

Unfortunately, other than his name, race, age and home planet, there was no more details about what kind of identity it was

"I only asked him to create a fake identity. Even if he is the Lord of the Planet, he wouldn’t constantly be keeping an eye on such things, will he?"

In Leo’s eyes, the identity was probably a very small favor to ask of the lord, who would’ve delegated the task to his subordinates.

Moreover, with billions of people living on that planet, who was going to remember one small identity card that hadn’t been misused ever?

Leo believed that even if he used the identity card and entered that planet, it wasn’t going to reach the Galactic Union Lord’s ears or alert him.

"It’s not as if it’s the identity of some King. That would’ve been absurd. So I should be safe... Right?"

Leo wanted to use the Simulation to test if this was actually safe. Unfortunately, the cooldown was close to six months. Almost five more months were left now.

Unless he wanted to waste five months of his life, moving from one space hotel to another like a nomad, he had to make a choice.

"Should I take the risk of using this identity card, or the risk of bribing people to create a new one? In both cases, it’s just as risky..."

Leo looked at his face which was imprinted on the identity card. With this card, he couldn’t disguise himself. Moreover, with the recent case related to his company where he dragged the financial Watchdogs to court, he had been quite popular after all.

"Fine. I’ll bribe someone and get a new identity card with a disguise. There’s no point in leaving a link to my past, no matter how insignificant."

With that thought, Leo started using his encrypted communicator to search for people that could get things done when it came to fake identity.

Although it was hard to find through normal means, but with the communicator he had taken from the Galactic Union Leader, searching the dark web had become much easier without any restriction.

He soon got in contact with a broker, and sent him an image of his disguised face along with a payment from his private bank account.

After the payment was done, he was told to wait for three days and then pick up the identity card from a secure deposit box of a space station within the Central Region.

Three days later, Leo used his disguise. However, he didn’t personally go to pick up the item, playing cautious. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Instead, he hired another person independently to get his identity card from the deposit box.

Meanwhile, Leo was sitting in his ship that was parked in the bay of the intermediary space station.

With a glass of wine in his hand, he looked at the screen before him to ensure that the person he had hired wasn’t being followed.

He was still playing it safe since he was feeling with what could only be described as the underworld of illegal activities. .

While Leo was waiting for the person he had hired to bring him his identity card, he received a message with an attached video.

It was like an unboxing video where the man recorded the entire process of opening the locker box, only to reveal that it was completely empty.

"There is nothing here. What should I do now?" The person asked Leo, who was also taken aback.

He immediately returned to the dark web and contacted the broker, only to realize that he wasn’t able to contact that person anymore.

"Did I... get scammed?" Leo’s lips twitched in disbelief as he came to a realization.

He looked like he didn’t know if he should laugh or cry. He had fooled quite a few people in life, but this was the first time he had seen such a brazen scam!

Someone dared to take his money and then disappear? And the worst part, he couldn’t even go to the authorities to tell them about this scam.

He wanted to find that person and punch him in the face. Unfortunately, it was already hard to find that person if not impossible.

Even though it was frustrating, he still found a few other brokers. Even at the risk of getting scammed again, he asked them for a fake identity.

After all, money wasn’t an issue. Even at the most expensive, it only cost a few million credits.

Just to be safe, assuming that almost everyone was a scammer, he paid more than ten different brokers for an identity card that would be accepted by the global systems.

Leo expected that at least one of them was going to be honorable thieves, but he was prepared to be scammed again.

He waited three more days, and just like he was instructed, he sent a hired hand to the locker boxes that he was informed about.
