Immortal God of War-Chapter 755 - 720: Is He Still Worthy of Being a Man?_1
Upon receiving the message, Martial Marquis Qian’s first thought was disbelief.
His mansion was under tight security; it was impossible for anyone to break in unnoticed and harm his son.
But the guard who had relayed the news was his trusted confidant and couldn’t have lied.
"Who was it?" he snarled, glaring at the guard’s spectral image.
The guard knelt on one knee and replied, "This subordinate was incompetent. I didn’t see the intruder’s face; I don’t even know how someone entered the Young Master’s room."
"Weren’t you all standing guard outside? How could you not know?"
"Were you neglecting your duties?" Martial Marquis Qian demanded in shock and fury.
"We wouldn’t dare."
"Both of us were standing guard outside the door the entire time. We never left. We are certain we didn’t see anyone go in," the guard replied anxiously.
If anything happened to Feng Yun, he definitely wouldn’t have a good end either.
"Damn it!" Martial Marquis Qian stomped on the ground, his face contorting in wrath.
He didn’t think of Qin Feiyang, because he still believed Qin Feiyang was in the banquet hall.
"Qin Feiyang, come out! I don’t have time to waste on you," he said ominously, glaring at the spot where Qin Feiyang had disappeared.
However, no one answered him.
"Little Bastard, weren’t you so arrogant? If you have the guts, come out!" he couldn’t help but roar.
THUD!
But before his words faded, a bloody corpse suddenly fell in front of him.
He stiffened. He looked down, and his eyes practically bulged from their sockets, his teeth bared in a snarl! The bloody corpse lying before him—wasn’t it his son, Feng Yun?
"Who?"
"Get out here, now!" he roared, scanning his surroundings, his eyes brimming with murderous intent.
SWISH!
Suddenly, a white figure materialized.
It was Qin Feiyang!
As soon as he appeared, he cupped his fists with a smile and said, "Lord Marquis, I am deeply sorry for my previous offense, so I have specially brought you a great gift."
"Great gift?" Martial Marquis Qian was taken aback.
Qin Feiyang smiled faintly. "Can’t you tell? Your son is the great gift I’m giving you."
"What?"
"You killed Feng Yun?" Martial Marquis Qian’s eyes showed astonishment.
"That’s right! You’ve treated me so well, so naturally, I must repay you! Well, are you satisfied?" Qin Feiyang broke into a smirk.
"Impossible! Isn’t your space treasure immovable?" Martial Marquis Qian looked utterly incredulous.
"The information you’ve gathered isn’t necessarily true. My respected Lord Marquis, remember this lesson, and don’t provoke me again."
Qin Feiyang gave a cold smile, then instantly vanished without a trace.
"Show yourself..."
"I will kill you..."
"I will flay you alive and tear you limb from limb..."
Seeing Qin Feiyang disappear again, Martial Marquis Qian was so furious that he roared continuously, his roars nearly tearing the roof off.
But all of this no longer had anything to do with Qin Feiyang.
Above the Marquis’s estate, the divine spatial artifact sped through the air.
"Brother Qin, assassinating a Marquis’s son is no trivial matter. How do you plan to handle the aftermath?" Lu Xingchen asked.
Qin Feiyang pondered for a moment and was about to speak when the Image Crystal Stone in his robes suddenly vibrated.
He took it out; it was a message from Fatty.
However, when Fatty’s spectral image appeared, Qin Feiyang’s heart skipped a beat. Fatty’s face was etched with an indelible grief and self-reproach, and he remained silent for a long time.
"What’s wrong?" Qin Feiyang asked.
"Boss, I’m sorry," Fatty said, his head hanging low.
Hearing this, a sense of ominous foreboding instantly gripped Qin Feiyang’s heart.
Fatty remained silent for a short while, then gave Qin Feiyang a set of coordinates. "Come here first; I’ll explain then!"
With that, Fatty deactivated the Image Crystal Stone.
Lu Xingchen asked apprehensively, "Fatty rarely shows such an expression. Could something have happened to Qin Yue and Qin Xi?"
"Let’s go!" Qin Feiyang commanded in a stern voice.
Lu Xingchen waved his hand, taking Qin Feiyang with him, and they appeared high above a certain area of the Marquis’s estate.
Then, Qin Feiyang opened a portal and rushed in without looking back.
Lu Xingchen thought for a moment and also stepped into the portal.
The next moment, they landed in an abandoned courtyard.
Fatty was standing ahead. And lying on the ground before Fatty were two people.
Qin Feiyang strode over quickly. Who else could they be but Qin Yue and Qin Xi?
But at this moment, daggers were embedded in both women’s hearts! Blood was gushing out! They were already dead!
Qin Feiyang grabbed the front of Fatty’s clothes. "Tell me, what happened?" he roared.
"I..." Fatty looked full of self-reproach.
Lu Xingchen, glancing at Qin Yue and Qin Xi, tried to calm him. "Brother Qin, calm down. Let Fatty explain slowly."
Qin Feiyang released his grip. "Speak!" he barked.
Fatty said, "First, look around this courtyard."
Qin Feiyang scanned his surroundings. The ground was pockmarked and littered with withered branches and rotten leaves. The surrounding houses were dilapidated, covered in cobwebs, clearly abandoned for a long time.
"This place is..." Qin Feiyang furrowed his brows.
Fatty said, "This is Qin Yue’s home."
"What?" Qin Feiyang’s gaze trembled.
Although he and Qin Yue were close, he had never been to her home. He had only heard her mention before that it was in the tenth urban district.
Lu Xingchen asked, "Why is it so derelict?"
Fatty pointed to a well nearby. "Go take a look over there."
Qin Feiyang and Lu Xingchen walked over and peered down.
Upon seeing the sight at the bottom of the well, even with their fortitude, both couldn’t help but feel their scalps tingle! The well was dry, but at its bottom, it was piled high with a mountain of White Bones!
Fatty walked over to them. "These White Bones belonged to Qin Yue’s family."
"Qin Yue’s family!" Qin Feiyang’s gaze trembled. "Who did this?" he asked in a low, dangerous voice.
"Take a look at this," Fatty said, pulling a Token from his robes.
The Token was entirely black, its surface covered with a thin layer of rust. But the rust couldn’t obscure the engraving on the Token. On the front, a giant serpent was carved. And on the back, a single character was carved: ’One’!
Seeing this character ’One’, Qin Feiyang clenched the Token tightly, a bone-chilling light glinting in his eyes.
Lu Xingchen asked, "What does this ’One’ represent?"
Qin Feiyang enunciated each word clearly, "This ’One’ represents the Eldest Prince!"
Lu Xingchen’s pupils contracted.
"The guards of each Prince have an Identity Token with a number," Qin Feiyang continued. "For example, the Eldest Prince’s guards’ Identity Tokens are numbered ’one.’ The Second Prince’s guards’ Identity Tokens are numbered ’two.’"
Lu Xingchen said, "So, you’re saying Qin Yue’s family was killed by the Eldest Prince’s guards?"
"It must have been on the Eldest Prince’s orders!" Qin Feiyang’s gaze turned frigid as he looked at Fatty. "Where did you find this Token?"
"Right here," Fatty said, pointing to the dead leaves at his feet. "When I was standing here looking at the White Bones in the well, I felt like I’d stepped on something. When I cleared away the dead leaves, I found this Token. I think it was likely dropped accidentally by one of the Eldest Prince’s guards when they were disposing of the bodies. Moreover, when we arrived, this well was sealed with a large stone. At that moment, Qin Yue recognized at a glance that this was an Identity Token belonging to one of the Eldest Prince’s guards. So she immediately understood that these people were all killed under the orders of the Eldest Prince."
Qin Feiyang looked to the side and, sure enough, saw a large, dark stone lying on the ground, the marks of weathering on it quite severe.
"What about Qin Xi’s family?" Qin Feiyang asked.
"Qin Xi’s family was also completely annihilated; the circumstances were almost exactly the same as here," Fatty replied.
"So, that’s why they chose to commit suicide?" Qin Feiyang said.
"Yes," Fatty confirmed, his voice heavy with guilt. "At the time, they probably guessed I would stop them from taking their own lives. So, they sent me away, asking me to go down this well to help retrieve these White Bones, saying they wanted to find a place for burial. But I had just gone down when I heard their sorrowful, pained cries. By the time I climbed back up, daggers were already plunged into their hearts. Boss, I am truly sorry. It was my negligence that led to their deaths." Fatty bowed his head, his face filled with remorse.
Qin Feiyang turned to look at Qin Yue and Qin Xi, then sighed. "They were resolved to die. Even if you had stopped them then, they would have found another chance to kill themselves. You can’t be blamed for this; don’t reproach yourself."
"There’s one more thing," Fatty said. "Before they died, I told them your identity. Hearing you were back made them very happy. They also said they were sorry and asked you to forgive them."
"The one who should be apologizing is me," Qin Feiyang murmured, walking over to Qin Yue and Qin Xi. His eyes couldn’t help but mist over.
"Sigh!" Lu Xingchen sighed deeply, his face full of sympathy for the two women. "The reason those two stayed at the Fragrant Moon Tower, enduring humiliation and bearing heavy burdens, was entirely to protect their families from being harmed by the Eldest Prince. But... when they returned, they discovered their families had long since been murdered by the Eldest Prince. Such a blow, even we might not be able to withstand it, let alone two weak women like them. Truly tragic, truly detestable!"
"All of this happened because of me," Qin Feiyang whispered. "If it weren’t for me, they wouldn’t have endured over a decade of humiliation at the Fragrant Moon Tower. If it weren’t for me, their families wouldn’t have been killed. Since all of this began because of me, then I shall be the one to end it!"
As he spoke the last words, his hands clenched into fists, and an intense murderous intent erupted from his eyes.
Lu Xingchen’s expression flickered. "Brother Qin, you mustn’t act on impulse!" he urged.
Fatty also chimed in, "That’s right, Boss! The Eldest Prince certainly deserves to die, but now is not the time."
"If... if I have to endure even when those close to me are killed... then, am I even fit to be called a man?" Qin Feiyang bit out each word, his eyes blazing with a terrifying light.
"This..." Fatty and Lu Xingchen exchanged glances.
"I’ll return to the Temple first. Give them a proper burial, then come find me at the Temple," Qin Feiyang said to Fatty. He then opened a portal and, clutching the rusted black Token, strode in.
Lu Xingchen frowned and sighed. "It seems there’s no dissuading him."
"Once Boss makes a decision, no one can change his mind. Just wait. The heavens above the Imperial Capital are about to change." Fatty gave a cold smile. Cradling Qin Yue and Qin Xi in his arms, he jumped down into the well and placed them upon the pile of White Bones.
"Rest assured," he muttered. "Soon, Boss will avenge you and your families."
Muttering this, Fatty leaped out of the well. Then, with a wave of his hand, the ground rumbled and collapsed, and the well was instantly buried under earth and rubble.
