Immortal In A Death Game-Chapter 152: Don’t Mind
"Move! Move! Make way for the IBAA!"
Outside the Leak, SUVs bearing the IBAA logo finally arrived. Trucks followed close behind, their crews wasting no time building a perimeter around the crimson portal.
Leaks appearing near cities or populated areas received priority from the IBAA for obvious reasons. They were classified as High-risk Leaks, typically removed from the market, not allowing guilds to buy the rights for it.
In such cases, the IBAA deployed its own Heroes to clear the threat as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the IBAA didn’t have a surplus of Heroes. Most Americans chose to work with private guilds instead.
In short, their Heroes were overworked and traveled constantly. Even shorter—this meant they were always in foul moods.
"Fuck. One hour. I get to sleep one fucking hour."
"What is sleep?"
Two Heroes stepped out from one of the vans, a man and a woman, both wearing IBAA-issued Hero tactical suits. The armor was crafted from Leak materials, plated with gunmetal and silvermetal finishing. And ofcourse, the IBAA logo emblazoned on their chests.
The woman towered over her partner. Her red hair pulled into twin tails, revealing the six nicotine patches attached to her slender neck.
The man was completely hairless—not just bald, but lacking any facial hair whatsoever; making his slanted, almond-shaped blue eyes stand out even more against his olive skin.
"What the..."
The two Heroes surveyed the scene, following the medics they’d brought, only to discover a single injured civilian.
"No one died...?"
They exchanged glances before focusing on the Leak.
"That’s a Red Leak, Bea," the man said. "What the fuck are we supposed to do with just the two of us?"
"I told you this in the car." The female Hero, Beatrice, yawned. Her voice carried an incredibly lazy, almost monotonous tone. "This is why I told you to request another Hero. Now I’m stuck with just you."
"Where are we going to get another Hero?" The male Hero’s eyebrows furrowed. "And what the fuck do you mean you’re stuck with me? I, Harvey Krishnan of the Dragon’s Fist, am the one stuck with you."
"Snake’s Fist. Harvey the Snake’s Fist." Beatrice shook her head, her voice maintaining its flat delivery while she regarded Harvey as if judging his entire existence. "Please stop trying to change your title. It’s not going to happen."
"It’s not my fucking fault the title given to me doesn’t make sense! Snakes don’t have fists!"
"Whatever."
"You... fuck. It doesn’t matter." Harvey waved her off. "What’s the plan here? Do we—"
"I have additional intel!" An IBAA officer interrupted their planning session before it could start.
"I was told a Hero is already inside! He’s also the one who cleared the area."
"Cleared..." Both Harvey and Beatrice finally noticed the mound of carcasses near the Leak.
"Alone?" Harvey asked. "Is it an A-tier Hero?"
"That solves our problem." Beatrice began stretching her arms. "Let’s go assist."
"B-tier."
"What?" Both Heroes turned to the officer simultaneously.
"The one who entered is Adam the Endless."
"Adam the who...?" Harvey’s face twisted. "A singular working title? The fuck? Why does everyone get the cool names?"
"You’re focusing on the wrong thing, Harvey."
"Oh, well, excuse me, Beatrice, the Weaver of Storms." He jabbed a finger into her arm. "I’m tired, I’ve only slept an hour, and my name fucking sucks. Why couldn’t I have been Harvey the Viper’s F—"
Beatrice clamped Harvey’s mouth before he could finish his words.
"We need to go, Harvey." She pushed him away and started walking toward the Leak. "If it’s a B-tier Hero, then he’s going to need our help immediately."
"The guy’s probably dead. He—"
And before the two could fully approach the Leak, it suddenly fluctuated.
"What the hell?" Harvey muttered. "The Boss is... dead?"

Inside, Adam kneeled in a crater. Half his torso was missing from the chest up... even his entire jaw and his right cheek were hollow. The Skayrnmuder’s corpse lay nearby, and both of its eyes had the beaks and skulls of the smaller skayrns brutally embedded into them.
"A... ah..." Adam groaned as his flesh and bones knit themselves back together. He gazed down, watched his ribs regrow, covering his heart and his lungs, which were also squirming and pulling themselves whole.
The battle didn’t really last that long. The Boss was fast, incredibly so—almost as fast as the Berserk Fairy. The only thing Adam could do was let himself be dragged away with it, flung into the air and played with.
Its claws had raked through Adam’s torso like paper, its beak had crushed his entire body twice.
But in the end...
Only you are endless. Stop it.
Adam winced at his own thoughts, shaking his head. He looked at the skayrnmuder’s corpse, and a Crystal soon emerged and hovered above it.
"Let’s just..." he whispered to himself, standing with his trembling legs as he approached it.
He raised his fist to destroy the Crystal... but then hesitated.
The people outside—they might need the materials from this Leak. The materials of the monsters could be valuable for them, helping fund relief efforts.
"I’m sorry..." Adam sighed, gently placing his palm on the monster’s mangled head. "...you’ll have to fight again, but the pain will no longer be yours."
And with that, Adam gently grabbed the corpse by its leg, dragging it away.
"Oh...?" He glanced at the Crystal, and it was still hovering and flying above the corpse. These crystals... what even were they exactly?
Adam continued to drag the corpse, making sure he was going to the direction he came from—he didn’t want to get lost again, after all. It wasn’t his fault that this Leak was big.
Fortunately for him, the traces of blood he’d left behind were enough for him not lose his way back. If he was correct, once the Boss was dead, the other monsters would disappear and no longer spawn.
The Crystal from the Boss’s corpse would also start to crack on its own after a while if left alone. Even... the Leak felt like a game. It—
"What the fuck."
Adam blinked, quickly dropping the carcass as two figures suddenly appeared in front of him.
[Harvey, the Snake’s Fist]
[Beatrice, the Weaver of Storms.]
"Oh..." Adam noticed the IBAA logo on their chests.
"...I killed the Boss. I hope you don’t mind, Ma’am, Sir."
"...What the fuck?"
