Chapter 158: Chapter 157: Gorgeous Cage 4 (Surrounded by Thirteen)

Josh pushed the door open and saw Yuze who had just logged out. He was wearing a simple black trench coat and sitting on a tattered sofa.

The sharp black collar of the trench coat covered a bit of his chin, but somehow made his facial features appear even sharper, giving off a very unapproachable vibe.

Especially his pitch-black eyes, which exuded an inexplicable sense of oppression in the shabby and dimly lit room.

The two of them unexpectedly logged out at the same place.

His shiny golden hair and face contrasted starkly with the background behind him, making him look like a fresh white rose dropped into a garbage heap, particularly out of place.

Josh’s lips twitched slightly: "Do we have real-world identities too?"

Yuze’s lips twitched as well, nodding, and held up his identity card, "It’s on the back, take a look."

Josh took out the identity card. The front was like an anime-style identity card, introducing Tian Caiji, a popular internet darling and singer.

On the back, it said she was a housewife who had to endure a chronically abusive husband.

Josh’s lips twitched slightly: "You’re the abusive husband then?"

Yuze nodded: "But I think what we need to solve now is her problem, right?"

Josh followed his gaze and saw Susanna coming out of another room.

She had evidently just logged out of the game too.

Susanna’s face looked grim, clearly stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Logging out in an enemy’s nest was incredibly shitty.

Seeing her expression, Josh’s pretty lips twitched: "Alright, I get it, no need to say it."

"Enemies are bound to meet on a narrow road."

A hint of malice flashed in Susanna’s eyes, but she didn’t want to show her unfriendly side in front of the camera, so she said, "There was nothing we could do, sis. What a coincidence that we’re in the same scenario again."

Josh shrugged: "Not a coincidence. I’m not buying it. Take your little trinket and get back to your teammates, or don’t blame me for being ruthless."

No sooner had she spoken than she thought it peculiar, ruthless?

What mercy was there to show?

This was a target coming straight to her doorstep.

Josh suddenly brandished a weapon, revealing her Spiritual Body.

With a "snap," Josh threw a spiderweb at Susanna before she could react, binding her.

She tightened the spider silk, constricting the web.

As a healer with no strength to bind a chicken, Susanna’s arms and legs soon bled where the web constricted.

She was startled, "Josh! What are you doing?!"

"You dare lay hands on me?! I’ll tell daddy and mommy once we’re out!"

Hearing this, Josh tightened the silk further, her lips curling up though there was no amusement in her eyes: "Oh, I’m so scared."

Afraid she would go crazy and actually kill her, Susanna hurried back into the online world, disappearing instantly.

All that was left was a bloodied cobweb falling down.

Yuze raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise in his dark eyes: "New skill?"

Josh nodded, squatting beside the cobweb: "It’s just that the power’s not enough. If only it could instantly slice someone into pieces..."

Yuze gave her a look of approval: "The cook won’t worry about having no one to chop meat then."

Josh met his gaze and then suddenly laughed: "Makes sense."

Susanna had fled into the game and would likely soon inform her teammates of Josh and Yuze’s exact coordinates.

The two quickly contacted Rob to ascertain his location.

Rob’s tone was one of exasperation: "You won’t believe this, but I logged out at the same place as Xue Guo and the others."

Xue Guo was the captain of Angel’s Wings, also Susanna’s captain.

Was this a coincidence?

Josh explained Susanna’s situation to Rob.

She lost patience halfway through and directly initiated a video call.

Rob’s expression was quite poor, like someone who had been drained and was about to collapse, and the dark circles under his eyes were blacker than soot.

"What’s this? Did you get beaten up this quickly?" Josh squinted at him.

Rob pouted in grievance: "Little Tactician..."

"Report the coordinates, Daddy’s on the way!" Josh whipped out a glove, ready to act, and even had Yuze flying beside her.

"Wait, wait! It’s not that!" Rob hurriedly interjected, afraid that if he spoke a second too late, Josh would charge over with Yuze.

Josh paused: "What happened?"

Rob explained: "This body of mine is just an internet-obsessed teen; I didn’t get beaten up..."

Josh was about to say something more when Xue Guo forcibly appeared in the frame: "I know my teammate is with you, and your archer is here. Let’s exchange."

Josh looked at Yuze.

Yuze nodded.

Josh: "Agreed."

The two sides agreed on a coordinate point and brought their teammates to rendezvous.

Susanna received Xue Guo’s notice and logged back out of the game.

The exchange took place on a street corner.

The moment Susanna returned to her team, a large group of people suddenly emerged.

The Turbo trio, Lulu and a group of five, plus the team led by Xue Guo - thirteen against three.

Xue Guo looked smugly at the three surrounded in the middle: "Did you really think we came for this simple teammate exchange?"

Seeing Turbo, Josh was a bit surprised, not expecting someone on stimulants to be released so quickly.

And there was something different about Turbo this time, something she couldn’t quite put her finger on.

Her head looked like a mess of weeds, her hair in disarray, her expression a bit crazed.

Especially the way she looked at Josh, as if a starving person were eyeing a piece of succulent roast meat.

The situation was very unfavorable for them.

Josh subtly retreated, quickly glancing at the people around: "Is this your game?"

Turbo grinned wickedly: "Josh is mine. Nobody else touch her!"

She really liked this pretty and sharp-minded little one.

Facing thirteen, they were completely surrounded.

Josh and the other two each faced a direction.

She quickly analyzed the three teams in her mind.

Oddly enough, she wasn’t too worried about Xue Guo’s first-tier team.

In a previous scenario, she and Yushi had gauged their true strength, which wasn’t as formidable as imagined.

The second-tier team with Million and Lulu was another five-member group. She and Yuze had clashed with them in a past level, and their strength was decent.

In that past scenario, her victory was purely due to some supernatural hacking skills. But the current background setting didn’t include a notion of ghosts, so summoning wild ghosts to fight was off the table.

She’d have to rely on spiritual power and combat strength directly.

However, Turbo’s team was the real wildcard.

Previously, in that past level, Turbo and her team were on drugs; their current state was a mystery to Josh and her team.

[Dammit, when will the Eden Garden Guild give up such underhanded tactics?]

[Three against thirteen; the poor kids are screwed.]

[Even with Yu present, the odds look grim against thirteen.]

The livestream viewers couldn’t help getting tense.

The second, third, and fifth teams on the rankings were full teams.

Although the Golden Shit Stirrer topped the rankings for overall strength, this wasn’t a full team, and outnumbered as they were, it looked like a scene that would only end in a beating.

The livestream was infiltrated by water armies from other teams.
