Chapter 57: Chapter 54: Horror Hospital 22 (Bonus)

Josh hurriedly dodged, but couldn’t match Qianqian’s sudden speed, and was instantly grabbed by the neck and slammed against the corner of the wall.

The smile on Qianqian’s face was instantly replaced by a furious, terrifying expression.

Her forehead bulged with veins, her entire face flushed a liver-red from agitation, her eyes widened and protruded from excitement, the red veins in her eyeballs looking particularly menacing.

"I told you to run! Run!" Each word squeezed out from between her teeth, her face’s flesh trembling from the force.

As she spoke, she viciously grabbed the hair on the back of Josh’s head and yanked it hard, slamming her head against the wall.

Josh instinctively curled her body, her two frail front paws clumsily hugging her head.

This was the only way she could think of to reduce the damage.

Seeing her like this, Qianqian laughed heartily, lifting the cat high: "Die, you!"

Josh tensed her body, calculating her angle of escape if she was thrown down.

"No! Don’t!" Qianqian’s voice suddenly returned to normal, her face showing a pained and despairing expression: "Dad, please! Don’t kill this little kitty, it’s still so small!"

Josh’s expression changed, glancing towards Qianqian.

Qianqian’s face was filled with conflicted pain, her eyes no longer as protruding, the viciousness in her demeanor disappearing entirely.

Yet her hand still trembled, holding tightly onto Josh, seemingly trying hard to put her down.

But she was powerless.

Josh seized the opportunity to struggle free from her grasp.

Qianqian’s expression instantly twisted into one of anger: "Get away! I’m not your dad!"

She lunged towards Josh, attempting to recapture the cat.

Josh suddenly said: "It was you, wasn’t it? The one in the cafeteria that day."

Qianqian stared coldly at her, menacingly: "So what if it was?"

Josh: "Do you know how I recognized you?"

Qianqian was about to speak.

Josh cut in: "Because of the ghost following you, wearing a blue tattered shirt, hair in a bun, looking very kind, isn’t that right?"

Qianqian’s pupils suddenly contracted: "No! No, no!"

She spun around maniacally, brandishing a whip: "Stay away!"

Her stance suggested she intended to destroy the ghost too.

Josh secretly exhaled, glancing at the clock on the desk.

During the night shift, there’s a rotation every two hours, and Qianqian was scheduled to rotate with someone tonight, so she didn’t go home.

A half hour had passed already, just another hour and a half to endure until a nurse came in to switch shifts with her.

Josh would then have a chance to escape.

Qianqian suddenly glared at Josh, a bizarre laugh emerging from her throat: "Is this the face you were hoping to see?"

Josh’s heart tightened, instinctively sensing danger.

Qianqian began to laugh sinisterly, her eyes transforming into dual pupils, her voice seemingly a chorus: "Pity, you guessed wrong. I killed my mom, so what? She had short hair, couldn’t wear a bun, you’re lying!"

Josh assessed the situation calmly: "You’re Qianqian’s father, right? Do you know she suffers because of your actions?"

"So what? She deserves it!" Qianqian’s face twisted even more, evidently indifferent to the idea of family.

Josh quickly changed tactics, discreetly inching towards the bathroom.

She needed blood.

The blood of corpses.

Her fighting strength was too weak to resist this monster.

The bathroom!

Josh’s eyes brightened; if she could reach the bathroom, she’d have no shortage of blood from corpses.

The corpses inside were enough to handle this monster.

But the bathroom door was shut...

As a two-month-old kitten, she couldn’t jump high enough to reach the door handle.

Unless...

Josh suddenly sprang forward, hiding by the bathroom door.

Qianqian sneered at her: "You think you can hide from me?"

She lashed out with a whip, and Josh dodged sideways.

Then, with the second and third lashes, Josh dodged perfectly once more.

The whip cracked viciously against the bathroom door, leaving marks from the monster’s attack.

The upper part of the glass showed signs of cracking.

Fortunately, the bathroom door was part frosted glass and part wood, and the monster’s attacks left several cracks in the already fragile frosted glass.

Just one hard hit, and she could break in.

Josh launched herself out.

Qianqian’s bloodthirsty gleam flashed in her eyes as she pounced, blocking the doorway.

Josh couldn’t dodge in time and was grabbed by Qianqian.

Using the body of a two-month-old kitten to withstand a mad adult, Josh had done her utmost. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

She looked at the clock on the desk.

Another half hour had passed.

Only one hour remained.

If she could endure this hour, she’d be saved.

However...

Qianqian pinned her to the desk, gripping her front paw bones tightly and squeezed hard.

Josh felt the pain of bones cracking.

The kitten’s shrill scream echoed in the room.

"That’s the sound! Ah~ how delightful!" Qianqian laughed maniacally, applying even more force.

Realizing her screams aroused Qianqian, Josh gritted her teeth and refused to make another sound.

Qianqian pulled out a metal board from a drawer, locking Josh’s limbs onto it.

Needles, lighters, candles, among other bizarre items, were all laid out.

Qianqian looked at the little kitten, her smile growing wider and wider: "The last cat I tortured was about your size, it tried all my tools and didn’t last half the day before it died. You better last longer, my new toy~"

From the bathroom, the sound of water dripping onto the floor echoed.

Josh’s little ears twitched involuntarily, watching the crazed monster before her with caution.

Hospital cafeteria.

Rob clung pitifully to his team captain: "Aren’t you going to give me a hug?"

"Scram." Yuze lazily pushed his head away.

Rob whined, "But my legs are still weak. It was so painful inside the greenhouse chamber for so long~"

Yuze ignored him, slipping into the kitchen.

Chef Li was cooking, and upon seeing a stranger enter, he shouted hurriedly: "Hey, you there! No entry into the back kitchen! Didn’t you see the big sign at the door?"

Yuze smiled amiably: "Hello Mr. Li, Uffemia asked me to come, because I didn’t return to the ward on time, she’s punishing me by making me help you with the supplies."

"I don’t need you, get out!" Chef Li approached, blocking the kitchen door.

His body subtly shielded the door to the freezer behind him: "Listen, guys, the kitchen is mine alone, if you come one step closer, I’ll break your nose! Don’t cry for mommy when it happens!"

Yuze chuckled, meeting Chef Li’s scornful gaze, then knocked him down with a punch.

Chef Li screamed, clutching his nose, his entire head dented inward, his nose and mouth filled with blood.

"Oh... oh my... mama... help..."
