Immortality Starts From Making Money.-Chapter 350: Leaving the Continent - Part 1
Two years later.
At the heart of the Never-Ending Forest, inside the magnificent palace, the three strongest beasts sat on their thrones with pride and arrogance.
"The humans have stopped their meaningless attempt to escape this forsaken continent," the Tiger King said with a disdainful voice.
"What do you expect?" the Eagle Queen snorted. "Without us even attacking, could those pathetic humans survive in this forest?"
"How many of them have lost their pathetic lives?" She clicked her tongue. "Who would think that when I need to increase my slaves, they would stop?"
"You're right," the Tiger King nodded. "I can't just wait for our mission to be over and return home."
The Ape King looked at his two comrades with a blank expression.
It was impossible to guess his thoughts just by looking at his face.
Why were the two lost in their arrogance? He knitted his brow slightly.
He sensed something amiss.
Compared to humans' previous attempts to leave the continent, this time the humans seemed somehow different.
They did not charge in blindly.
They did not disturb the forest.
More importantly, there was no sign of battle.
Most of the beasts under their domain failed to detect the humans at all. It was only when they were far gone that they smelled their lingering aura.
Additionally, they did not send their strongest experts but rather weaker cultivators.
What were they trying to achieve with such weak cultivators?
He tried to wrap his head around the humans, but he failed repeatedly. He felt a deep plot was unfolding, yet they could not smell it.
Many times, he released his Soul Sense to scan the forest for traces of humans trying to escape but found nothing.
They came close to their territory but retreated afterward.
It was as if they ignored the chance to leave the continent.
After thinking about it for so long, he looked at his two comrades and asked, "What do you think about the humans' action at the Barren Land?"
Listening to his question, the two stopped their conversation and looked at him.
"Nothing. When they realized they could not defeat our brother at the Barren Land, they resigned themselves to fate and decided to live close to us," the Tiger King replied.
His disdain for the pathetic humans was visible to all.
"I believe they are trying to gain the favor of our brothers and sisters. Humans are treacherous, and they wouldn't hesitate to use any means to get what they want," the Eagle Queen added.
The Ape King nodded in agreement. This must be the truth.
Since the humans did fail to gain anything from their forest, they were likely trying to use their treachery against their brothers and sisters in the Barren Land.
"Humph! Humans will never learn."
"Do they think we won't guess their thoughts?" A sneer crept onto his face.
"Send a message to our brothers and sisters at the Barren Land. They must not fall for the human trick," his voice was cold.
"If they come near their territory, they must be killed immediately. And anyone who tries to escape must meet the same fate."
"Senior brother, you don't have to worry. I'll send the message after this meeting," the Tiger King replied with firmness.
Their mission was to ensure that humans on the continent never had a chance to step out of this land.
This was their birth land and also their prison.
With heavenly law restricted, humans on this continent would never break through to a higher realm.
Thus, they could forget about leaving or posing a threat to them.
Unknown to the beast guardians, the humans had done the impossible.
Hundreds of meters beneath the Never-Ending Forest, inside a tunnel, a Sky Track Runner shot forward at breathtaking speed.
Mo Jian sat at the forefront, appearing calm, though inwardly his heart was pounding heavily against his chest.
"Finally!" he exclaimed inwardly.
For the past two years, the plan to explore the Never-Ending Forest had never ceased to grow.
He had improved his puppet mastery, making them stronger and more efficient.
Apart from his mastery of puppetry, his cultivation had risen sharply as well. He was now a Peak Golden Core Expert, Stage-7.
With his newfound strength, he should have felt relieved, even happy. Yet the thought of living in a cage unsettled him.
Each day he waited for news of crossing the Never-Ending Forest, but the news never came.
Instead of losing hope, his heart burned with determination. He continued to pour resources into tunnel creation.
A month ago, changes were detected in the tunnel.
The spiritual energy became purer, and the suffocating pressure on their cultivation seemed to lessen.
Golden Core Experts could sense the heavenly law more clearly. It was no longer obstructed.
When he heard this, he knew this was what they had been looking for.
Still, he did not stop the tunnel digging.
Instead, he sent people to the surface to map their location. His men found that they were already outside the Never-Ending Forest, but not yet out of danger.
They discovered a mysterious mist filling the forest. The mist was not ordinary. It warped cultivation perception and sense of direction.
With the strange mist, Mo Jian did not dare halt the tunnel creation. Two weeks later, the tunnel was far enough from the mysterious mist.
Also, the suppression of heavenly law was finally gone.
This alone proved they had arrived at another continent.
A secluded mountain was found, and hundreds of meters beneath it lay the last stop of the tunnel.
And now, he was going to investigate the newly discovered continent. Seated across from Mo Jian were Elder Bai Delan and Elder Luo Zhen.
None of them could speak.
Each could not believe what was truly happening.
A new continent!
Just the thought made their blood boil with excitement. For thousands of years, their own continent had been nothing more than a cage.
But now, it seemed they were about to leave the cage that had trapped them for generations.
Clenching their fists, they looked at the blurry dark tunnel outside the Sky Track Runner with excitement.
