Chapter 363: Think Again.

Half-time.

The game was still 1-0.

Black Spider was leading.

The arena buzzed with noise and excitement. The atmosphere crackled with blood-pumping energy.

People wandered around to stretch their legs, seizing the opportunity to explore the arena.

That was when they discovered the facilities.

A tea house served Spirit Tea at a lower price than outside. A restaurant offered Spirit Food, and a Wine House invited lovers of wine to indulge to their heart’s content...

Apart from that, there were various halls selling ice cream, sweets, and other snacks. This alone caused many to sigh in amazement.

The game was already enough to talk about for days, even months. Yet the facilities beyond astonished them.

Far from the main floor, the betting chamber was crowded.

When most entered the arena to watch the strange game, they hadn’t intended to visit the betting chamber. But now, many have had a change of heart.

Hundreds of people gathered at the counter, expressions ranging from curiosity to eagerness.

"What a strange betting style," an old man mused, staring at the betting slip in his hand.

This was the first time they’d ever seen a bet with such a slip.

Compared to the gambling dens they knew, this was an eye-opener.

The available odds to choose from were astonishing.

First goal.

First corner.

Half-time to score.

Full-time score.

Handicap and more.

Many came to gamble a few spirit stones, then sat down to learn the ropes of this new betting system.

Most importantly, they did not have to stay in the betting chamber the entire time. As long as they held their slip, they could return later to claim their wins.

People debated the various betting codes and rewards with animated energy. Many discovered that with a few spirit stones, they could earn tens of thousands of High-Grade Spirit Stones if luck favored them.

Even Peak-Grade Spirit Stones were possible.

Gambling enthusiasts found the betting chamber the most important part of the arena. Within minutes, small groups formed as they exchanged information.

While the ordinary people explored the facilities, engrossed in many new inventions, inside a luxurious chamber Mo Jian sat with a calm expression, looking at the leaders of the various factions.

Apart from the famous gangs known throughout the city, the other leaders appeared lackluster.

Yet Mo Jian did not look down on them.

While Mo Jian surveyed them, the leaders were likewise sizing him up. Many could not hide their astonishment at his appearance; they had expected the owner to be an old man or woman, but never did they expect a young man of such bearing.

"What do you think?" Mo Jian asked in a low voice.

He did not bother to flatter or use any trick. He went straight to the point. When they heard his question, each considered it for a moment before a middle-aged man responded.

"Interesting..." He paused briefly before adding, "Even though we’re new to this game, I can see its future."

"Young Master, are you the person who created this game?" he asked again to confirm.

"Yes..." Mo Jian nodded.

Huh!

Many could not help but draw in a breath. They’d seen many strange games invented by talented and eccentric people, but none had reached the level of this young man.

Mo Jian did not permit them to question him; that was not the reason he had summoned them.

"What do you think will happen after this game?" he asked, his gaze moving from one face to another. Before anyone could speak, he continued.

His tone was calm and casual, yet laced with unwavering confidence. "The popularity of these two small gangs will rise beyond your imagination."

"Their fame will bring them wealth and connections you could never dream of..." He paused.

"I know many will be skeptical, but I don’t care about that." He declared this as a matter of fact. He was here to offer them an opportunity, not the other way around.

"This is the first game, and the ticket price was deliberately lowered. From the next game, the entry will be no less than fifty High-Grade Spirit Stones. And it could rise to a hundred."

Shocked disbelief was written across their faces.

Still, they maintained their expressions as they listened.

He took out thin papers from his storage pouch and handed them to them. "That is the reward for the winner of this game..."

Their eyes fixed on the listed rewards. They saw wealth that makes their mouths water. Structure and fame, things they had never imagined possible.

Even the leaders were stunned; all of this would come from winning a single game. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Young Master, all this reward is enticing, but we’ve yet to see how it’s possible. Not unless you intend to fork this money from your own purse," the Red Serpent Gang Leader sneered.

She had seen many youngsters promise heaven and earth with little more than inspiration, only to fail and rot in some forgotten corner.

"I did not summon you all to convince you. As I’ve stated, I’m merely extending the opportunity to you. What you do with the information is up to you. I for one do not give a damn about it," Mo Jian said casually.

"You’re merely a gang leader in a small corner of the continent. No one knows you beyond this city’s walls. But after today, the two smaller gangs’ fame will reach far beyond your reach."

"They will meet people you wouldn’t dare to meet. This is the reality. Either you accept it or not."

"Because after today... you won’t get another chance," he said with a faint smile, then averted his gaze from the fuming Red Serpent gang leader.

"Let me ask you something: what do you think will happen if the winner of today’s match challenges any of your forces to a football match?"

Huh!

"I bet you understand what would happen. Now, let’s go a step further. What about the powerful clan in the inner city?"

"More importantly, if those powerful clans lost to a gang like the Blood River or the Black Spider Gang, what do you think would occur?"

"Do you still think this game would be confined to the lower district?"

"Think again."
