Immortality Starts From Making Money.-Chapter 370: Expanding Influence.
"Young Master, I never knew you had such an indigenous plan for the old arena," the chubby manager said with a flattering smile.
Last time Mo Jian came to purchase the old arena, he had thought he would use it for something shady. But he was wrong.
Not only did he use it for something legitimate, he transformed the old arena into a beautiful stadium that many people couldn’t stop talking about.
Mo Jian offered only a noncommittal smile as he slowly sipped the spirit tea. Beside him, Broken Blade did not touch the tea; he stared intently at the chubby manager.
Under Broken Blade’s piercing gaze, the manager was not intimidated and could only cough twice.
"So, Young Master, which properties do you want to buy this time around?" he asked with a serious expression.
Now that they were discussing business, his previous fawning smile had vanished. With the moment right, Mo Jian set his tea cup down and sat up straighter.
"Are the two arenas still free?" Mo Jian asked.
When the chubby manager heard this, his eyes widened slightly before they shifted into a glowing smile.
"Of course they are available." The flattering smile returned to his face. "Apart from you, who knows how to turn such an arena into a goldmine, many find it troublesome."
"So, do you want to buy the two arenas at the same time?" he asked, rubbing his palms together in anticipation.
"Yes," Mo Jian nodded, his expression calm. "But unlike last time, you duped me. I hope this time it won’t happen."
This was just bait.
Mo Jian was attempting to use reverse psychology on him. And truly, the chubby manager took the bait.
"Young Master, what do you mean?" He frowned. "Our Thunderpool Chamber was known for its fairness. How could I dare dupe you?"
"What fairness? You sold such an old arena to me at such a high price when I later learned I could have bought it for 200 Peak Grade Spirit Stones?"
"What nonsense?!" The chubby manager was furious. "That’s nonsense. I gave you a fair price; prices you can see anywhere but here."
"Tell me who spouts that nonsense. I want them to say it to my face." He bared his teeth, his massive fats shaking violently.
"Manager, I don’t care about that. Let’s not dwell on the past." Mo Jian waved his hand dismissively. "Let’s just talk about these properties." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
The chubby manager stared at the calm and indifferent young man for a moment before returning to his seat. He felt as if he were being played, but looking at Mo Jian, he saw the seriousness.
’Is it possible some bastards want to tarnish the image of my Thunderpool Chamber?’ he wondered for a moment, then chose not to dwell on it too much.
After this trade, he would deal with the matter.
"Young Master, you’re right." He took a deep breath to calm his emotions. "Sorry for that. Rest assured, Young Master, I’ll give you a satisfying answer if I uncover those bastards spreading negative rumors about my Thunderpool Chamber."
Mo Jian nodded but did not speak.
Quickly, the chubby manager brought out the proper brochure and showed him the two last arenas.
"Inner city?" Mo Jian raised his brow.
"Yes, Young Master." He nodded. "The last arena is in the inner district. It was recently constructed, but the clan that built it lost a lot of money and decided to sell it when their business failed."
Mo Jian did not care about the backstory. With one arena in the Inner City, that would speed up his plans. Previously, he had been thinking about how to get into the inner city without raising a stir.
The opportunity stood right before him.
As for the second arena, it was in the center of the outer city, located in the middle district. It was the prime location in the outer city.
"Name the price," he demanded, locking onto the chubby manager.
The chubby manager swallowed hard. He knew he was about to make another massive profit.
"For both arenas, 1800 Peak Grade Spirit Stones," he said slowly, inwardly counting the urgency of his own heart.
’How much commission will I get from this...’
1800 Peak Grade Spirit Stones converted to High Grade Spirit Stones was 1,800,000.
Listening to the high price, Mo Jian shook his head. "That’s too much... I can’t accept that. Let me pay 1500."
The chubby manager did not show any change in expression. "Young Master, I’ve already offered you the best price. I can’t reduce it further. But there is something I can do..."
Mo Jian did not interrupt him, waiting for the rest of the statement.
"Instead of paying for the renovation and cleanliness of the arenas, the Thunderpool Chamber can handle that for you. How about that?"
Mo Jian pretended to think for a moment before he nodded. "Fine, let’s do that."
"Excellent. Excellent." The chubby manager could not hide his joy. "Wait here while I fetch the deeds of the two arenas."
He rose from his seat, his face full of bright smiles, and hurried to retrieve the deeds.
Watching him depart, Mo Jian’s lips curved into a subtle smile.
The chubby manager believed he had pulled off a massive profit, but he did not realize he was about to incur a significant loss.
Quickly, the chubby manager returned with the deeds of ownership for the two arenas. "Young Master, here they are."
Mo Jian accepted the deeds and also completed the payment. Looking at the box filled with Peak Grade Spirit Stones, the chubby manager was grinning foolishly.
With the transaction concluded, Mo Jian rose to his feet.
"Manager, there will be a game in the arena in the next three days. Should I help you reserve a VIP room?"
"Hahaha. Of course. I also want to watch the now-famous football game." The chubby manager answered with great enthusiasm.
"Very well. I’ll reserve a Tier-3 VIP room for you," Mo Jian said with a light smile as he left the room.
"Very well. I’ll be expecting you," the chubby manager replied, still smiling.
Unknown to him, he did not notice the stunned expression on Broken Blade’s face when he heard the manager agree to a Tier-3 VIP room.
How much did a Tier-3 VIP room cost?
He chuckled and couldn’t help but pity the ignorant chubby manager.
Mo Jian walked out into the corridor, thinking ahead to the upcoming match and the opportunities it would bring.
The two arenas were not just properties; they were keys to a larger scheme, a stepping-stone toward a future that would change the balance of power in the city.
