Imperial Treasure-Chapter 923 - 559: Manuscript, Speech? (Dou Hanling Pet Affinity +3)
After the introductions, the atmosphere was still reasonably harmonious. However, Zhang Yunlong, who had the ultimate reputation here and had already followed the archaeological team for three archaeological activities, was the leader. Following the social pleasantries, he mentioned: "By the way, hand over last night’s paper reports to me. I have to submit them to the department leadership later. As for the rest of you, don’t run around. There’s only an hour or two left before the event starts, and most foreigners are punctual. We Chinese people cannot lose face."
Zhang Yunlong was indeed very composed. After giving out several instructions, he left.
Once he left, Sui Yi and the group of three were about to sit down and wait for the event to begin when they heard Li Rui, who had previously responded with laughter, say: "The professor didn’t assign him the captain’s role; he’s naturally acting like the boss, as though we are all under his command. Don’t you think so?"
The others were reticent, some indifferent, others smiled but did not respond.
A hundred human postures?
Sui Yi and the trio were noncommittal, and went off to find their seats.
But barely after sitting for a few minutes, Li Rui received a call, glanced at the trio, and said: "The professor called us over, there’s something to attend to, you three stay here and look after the other students, make sure they don’t run around."
After speaking, he left with the other five individuals.
"Avoiding eye contact, speaking ambiguously yet appearing calm; it seems your senior is quite a habitual liar."
Wen Lai was originally sitting just one row behind Sui Yi’s group, his chilly tone drawing a glance from the trio towards him.
Do all law students have eagle eyes?
Sui Yi’s gaze swept across the open-air venue. Given that Qing University is the Nation’s top university, national leaders have visited over the years, not to mention other important figures. Academic activities from abroad are frequently held here too, so this venue has a long history and is adequately large. But compared to today’s crowd, the seating nevertheless seems insufficient. Just within ten minutes of sitting, the venue was filled with people, including various high schools from Capital City, people from various circles, and even student and scholar groups from abroad.
Their seats were arranged early on.
Beijing University’s Archaeology Department came with an official mission, so they didn’t have to fret over getting a ticket. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Yet Sui Yi couldn’t stay seated for long.
The phone rang, and seeing it marked as the student council president, Sui Yi slightly raised an eyebrow.
"Sui Yi, it’s Chu Muzhe. Right now, along with the Archaeology Department, we’re at Qing University’s main administrative building. Concerning the student speeches on the archaeological theme, we need you and Mo Ke to come over."
Concise and orderly, as was Chu Muzhe’s usual communication style. Sui Yi understood immediately, and after hanging up, he told Mo Ke, and the two headed to Qing University’s main administrative building together.
Qing University is quite large, but fortunately, the distance from the venue wasn’t far. Sui Yi and Mo Ke arrived quickly, took the elevator up to the seventh floor, and upon exiting saw two people standing on the polished, elegant glass walkway ahead.
As Jiang Muxiu was about to approach, Chu Muzhe walked towards Sui Yi: "Your papers have been chosen as part of the speeches, now we need to consult your opinions regarding this..."
He spoke while leading the two inside; upon entering, Sui Yi saw nine members of the Archaeology Department along with some professors, then Chu Muzhe, Jiang Muxiu, and other student council members. The rest seemed to be people from Qing University.
Quite a number.
Sui Yi scanned the room, briefly settled his eyes at the window side, and then landed on three individuals standing in the center.
A rather gentlemanly yet sharp-eyed middle-aged man, an elderly man with a face full of kindness.
And a man dressed in a neat, fitting suit.
The elderly man was Old Master Ye; Sui Yi recognized him straight away.
As for the middle-aged man... Sui Yi had just glanced at the room’s setup; he was Wen Zhengli, head of Qing University’s organizational department.
The other slightly younger man seemed to be an official.
"Sui Yi, Mo Ke, this is Wen Zhengli, head of Qing University’s organizational department; you certainly recognize Professor Ye, and this is Qu Wenxuan, secretary to the Ministry of Education’s Cultural Education Department. The purpose of inviting you is clear, now we need to consult your opinions regarding the speech issues of these two papers."
It was not Chu Muzhe speaking, but another teacher from Qing University, who after speaking, turned to look at Sui Yi and Mo Ke.
His gaze somewhat deep.
