In Another World, Everyone Want to Kill Me!-Chapter 267: An Uninvited Guest
Yue Mingxuan nearly threw the clothes in his face.
"You’re still not leaving? If you catch your death of cold here, I’m not taking responsibility! And don’t you dare waste my medicinal herbs!" Yue Mingxuan shouted at him.
Just then, the door was pushed open.
Mo Yi then came in while carrying a pile of clothes.
He handed them to Shang Qinghua and quietly withdrew.
Yue Mingxuan fell silent.
His room really had become like a teahouse.
Mo Yi and even Moonless Cicada came and went as they pleased. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Perhaps worried that Yue Mingxuan might truly refuse to treat him if he fell ill, Shang Qinghua finally went into the side room to change his clothes.
After he took off the clothes that were soaked through, Yue Mingxuan let out a long breath.
Only now did he feel the chill seep into his bones, though when he had been outside just now he had not felt particularly cold at all.
He could not quite figure out why.
Was this body really his? Why did it feel so unfamiliar?
The corners of his lips lifted slightly and pride glinting in his eyes.
No matter, since he had come to inhabit this body, he would make full use of it. Wasting such a gift was never his way.
"Sui He, heat some water for me. I want to bathe. And prepare some for Prince Shang as well."
"Yes."
In the side room, Shang Qinghua sat at the table.
His clothes still damp and fresh garments neatly laid out on the bed.
He stared at the delicate teacup before him, lost in thought.
After standing outside for so long, Yue Mingxuan’s hand had still felt warm when he touched it.
That meant the internal energy within him was circulating on its own and providing warmth to his body.
"Did you see it just now?" he asked softly.
A voice sounded from the shadowed corner behind him with a quiet affirmation.
"Of course. How could I not? It was clear as day. The first time circulating internal energy, channeling internal energy to condense raindrops, yet he could drive it into a tree trunk, more than halfway in. Even I have to admit that I’m impressed."
The man that stepped out of the darkness dressed in a black robe and a sword at his waist still dripping a few drops of water.
The carpet absorbed them at once.
He sat across from Shang Qinghua and about to speak again when a knock sounded from outside.
Moonless Cicada was just about to vanish when Shang Qinghua lifted a hand to stop him.
"Who is it?"
"Prince Shang, it’s Sui He. His Highness asked me to prepare bathwater for you, so you can wash and ward off the chill."
Mo Yi appeared, took the water from Sui He’s hands and said, "Many thanks. I’ll take care of the rest. Miss Sui He, you should go back to His Highness."
"Alright then, I’ll take my leave," Sui He said, withdrawing.
Mo Yi opened the door and poured all the water into the tub.
Shang Qinghua glanced over and suddenly seeming to remember something, he then smiled faintly. "You may all withdraw. No need to wait here. Moonless Cicada, you can head back first."
"Yes."
He, too, went to bathe.
Since it was Yue Mingxuan’s kindness, he naturally would not disappoint.
Listening to the sound of rain outside, Yue Mingxuan paused while dressing.
It really was peaceful.
He had always liked rainy days, weather like this made sleeping especially comfortable.
While bathing earlier, he had condensed a droplet of water at his fingertip.
He had stared at that droplet in a daze for quite a while before it slipped into the hot water and vanished.
It suddenly occurred to him that the air was full of moisture.
If he practiced this technique well, he could use it no matter the weather, after all, it did not rain every day.
He was fastening the ties of his robe when Shang Qinghua pushed the door open.
Yue Mingxuan was startled and quickly stepped behind the screen. "Hey, no matter what, I’m still a Ger. Prince Shang, could you at least be courteous and knock before coming in?"
Shang Qinghua raised a brow. "Alright."
Right in front of Yue Mingxuan, he turned around, went back out, closed the door, and then knocked.
Yue Mingxuan: "..."
He pressed a hand to his forehead with a headache coming on and said nothing, because he knew that after knocking, Shang Qinghua would come in anyway.
After quickly finishing dressing, he walked to the table and poured some water.
"What is it?"
"You have someone to protect Rong Qinglei," Shang Qinghua said.
The young girl he had seen last night was a newcomer to Flying Opera Group.
According to Gu Xiang, she was only twelve or thirteen years old.
Because she was so young, they neither sent her on missions nor allowed her to receive guests; she was basically being raised within Flying Opera Group.
Her appearance in front of Yue Mingxuan yesterday had surprised even them.
Yue Mingxuan blinked. "Is there a problem?"
"How are you so certain something will happen to Rong Qinglei?"
"He’s the Third Prince. There are plenty of people who want him dead. After all, if he dies, that’s one less rival for the throne."
Shang Qinghua nodded thoughtfully.
Outside, the sky began to clear and the rain gradually lightened.
Yue Mingxuan glanced out, stretched lazily, and said, "Prince Shang, please see yourself out. I’m exhausted. If I don’t sleep now, I won’t be able to go to Flying Opera Group tonight."
With that, he walked toward the bed.
However, to his surprise, Shang Qinghua followed and right before Yue Mingxuan’s eyes, he lay down on the bed.
"Hey! Are you trying to have rumors spread through the palace that you and I are involved? Don’t you think I have enough trouble already?" Yue Mingxuan snapped.
He thenreaching out to pull him up, but Shang Qinghua didn’t budge.
"Come here. Massage my shoulders."
Yue Mingxuan: "..."
