Incubus Ascension-Chapter 10
Liam was still stuck in this tight hug from Martha, or whatever her fake name used to be.
Her arms were locked around him like steel bands, and his face was buried right in her chest.
Those soft, warm boobs were basically smothering him.
He’d be honest, getting hugged and half-suffocated by boobs like that wasn’t the worst feeling in the world, but right now he had bigger problems.
He needed answers, not a face full of cleavage.
He pushed himself back hard, using both hands to peel away from her and get some breathing room.
"Okay, that’s enough," he muttered.
They were already flying through the sky.
She had him tucked against her side somehow, wind whipping past them, the ground far below.
His stomach did a little flip every time he looked down, but he forced himself to focus.
"Who are you really?" he asked, raising his voice over the wind.
"And why the hell did you infiltrate Ark Academy?"
She didn’t even hesitate. "My name is V," she said.
"I’m one of the succubus queen’s high generals.
I came to the academy because my queen sensed the chosen one would be there."
He stared at her. "Chosen one for what? What are you even talking about?"
V glanced down at him, her expression calm like this was normal conversation.
"The chosen one is the person who grows stronger by having sex with women.
When a succubus sleeps with him, she advances through her evolution stages."
She tilted her body a little so he could see her back and gestured with her free hand.
"You see these eight wings? That’s how we measure hierarchy and power among succubi.
Back in ancient times, having sex with the chosen one made a succubus evolve fast.
More wings, more power, everything."
His head was spinning. He had to check this.
In his mind he asked, ’System, is any of that actually true?’
The system answered right away, flat and mechanical like always.
’Partially true. But the succubus must genuinely love the host and be loyal to him until death.
Otherwise it’s just normal sex, same as with any human woman.’
He gave a small nod to himself. That tracked.
He looked back at V. "Hey... I really need to piss." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
She blinked. "Really? Right now?"
"Yeah," he said, trying to sound desperate.
"Either we land or I’m gonna piss right here while we’re flying."
She let out a long sigh. "Fine."
She changed direction and dropped toward the public garden below.
"Don’t even think about running or trying anything stupid."
They landed near the public restroom. She pointed at the men’s door. "Go."
He walked in and she followed right behind him, planting herself like a guard right at the entrance to the toilet area.
A random guy started walking over, probably just needing to use the bathroom.
V raised her hand and fire flared up in her palm.
"Leave," she told him, voice cold. "Or I will kill you."
The guy’s eyes went wide and he bolted out of there without a word.
He kept walking until he reached the last stall, sat down on the toilet lid, and locked the door.
’Okay, Liam, think. Think of a way out of this. Come on, brain, work.’
He pulled up the system menu in his head. He had three SP, but he could only spend two right now.
He scrolled through the skills. Everything useful was way too expensive.
Then he remembered the glue balls he already had and started looking for something that would pair with them.
He found it:
Fire Surface.
Host can coat the surface of anything he touches with fire.
Cost: 2 SP.
He hit buy instantly. The points drained away and he felt a small warm tingle in his hands.
His eyes landed on the gas pipe running along the wall.
An insane idea hit him.
He stood up, walked over, and smashed the pipe open just enough for gas to start hissing out.
Then he started making glue balls, filling each one with the leaking gas before sealing them.
He kept going until he had twenty of them.
He carried the balls to the main door area and carefully stacked them right above the frame, high up where they’d be out of sight.
Then he ran a thin thread from the pile all the way over to the open window on the far wall, making a fuse he could light from outside.
V banged on the door. "Hurry up there!"
A second later he heard her mutter,
"Why am I even bothering with human privacy?"
Then a loud crack as her foot slammed into the door.
The second the door flew open, he reached through the window from the outside.
Lit the thread with his new fire skill, and dropped to the ground.
He didn’t wait to watch. He just ran.
He sprinted between the garden bushes and trees, heart hammering.
When he glanced back he saw a huge column of smoke rising into the sky.
That explosion had to have done a lot of damage.
Hopefully it would slow her down for a while.
He kept running until he hit the road. Up ahead was a little coffee shop.
He ducked inside, breathing hard. He checked his pockets, no, not enough money for even a cheap drink.
Going back to the dorm was out; V would probably be waiting there already.
He couldn’t drag Olivia into this mess either. She’d just end up targeted too.
Then it clicked. Beatrix. She was the only one who could let him crash somewhere safe. Maybe in her shop.
Plus, everyone still thought they didn’t have any special connection.
She was his last chance, if she rejected him. He would have nowhere to stay and V would probably find him.
He left the shop and walked straight to the Bee Sting.
He pushed through the door, crossed the floor, and headed for Beatrix’s office in the back. He didn’t knock.
He just opened the door and stepped inside.
She looked up from her desk. He met her eyes and said, "We need to talk."
