Chapter 110: So, What Took The Three Of You So Long?

Hey everyone—quick note and a small apology.

I meant to have all 15 privilege Chapters up right at the start of the month, but I fell a bit behind last night and only managed to upload 12. Thanks so much for your patience—here are the final 3 to complete the tier as promised!

Appreciate everyone who supports the story, seriously. I’ll keep doing my best to make sure it’s worth it. 🙏

Back at the Nocturne mansion, the atmosphere was calm.

Sunlight filtered through the wide windows, casting a soft glow across the plush sofas and polished floors.

The gentle scent of fresh tea and expensive perfume lingered in the air, mixing with the faint sound of soft classical music playing from the hallway speakers.

It was one of those rare moments when the entire house felt relaxed.

And right in the center of it all was Ethan.

Or rather, Ethan is completely still, with Velmora Nyx sitting squarely in his lap.

Her arms were gently wrapped around his torso like a sleepy cat, and her head slowly rubbed against his chest with a level of contentment that made it look like she’d been waiting years for this.

She wasn’t pressing him into her chest anymore—no, that part was over.

Now it was her turn to seek comfort.

Her soft, silky hair tickled against the fabric of his shirt as she nuzzled him with slow, almost dreamy movements.

And Ethan?

He wasn’t tense. He wasn’t confused.

He was calm.

His arms had settled around Velmora naturally. One hand rested lightly on her lower back while the other gently moved through her hair, fingers threading softly through the silky strands.

She was curled against him like someone who hadn’t felt safe in a long time.

And so he held her.

Quietly. Gently. Like it was the most natural thing in the world.

His fingers moved with care, stroking the top of her head and letting them trail down the back of her neck in slow, comforting motions.

Her warmth pressed against him, but he didn’t mind it.

He didn’t feel overwhelmed or unsure—only steady.

If anything, it reminded him of the quiet moments he’d shared with his family growing up... when one of his sisters was having a hard day and just needed someone to sit with them, say nothing, and be present.

That’s what this felt like.

Velmora wasn’t demanding anything from him.

She just needed to be close.

And Ethan understood that.

So he let her stay.

And he stayed with her.

Across the room, the rest of the family was watching.

Quietly.

Not with surprise. Not with shock.

But with something else entirely.

Jealousy.

Liliana’s arms were crossed, her eyes locked on Nyx with narrowed brows.

Isabella sat sideways on the couch, one leg bouncing impatiently, lips pressed in a thin line.

Seraphina looked like she was trying to remain neutral, but the way she sipped her tea without blinking said everything.

Even Evelyn and Everly, seated beside each other, had stiffened ever so slightly.

They weren’t angry.

But their eyes kept drifting to Ethan’s lap.

And the woman was still clinging to him.

Velmora, of course, didn’t care.

She looked completely at peace, like she belonged there.

No tension. No teasing.

Just comfort.

The only person in the room who seemed entertained by the entire thing was Elowen.

Sitting beside her daughters with a light smile on her lips, she held her tea delicately and took a slow sip before speaking.

"Well, well," she said calmly, her voice warm. "That’s quite the position to be in."

Ethan blinked, looking toward her with helpless eyes.

But Nyx only rubbed her cheek slightly closer to his chest.

"She’s really not letting go, huh?" Elowen added, tilting her head.

Ethan opened his mouth to answer—but the soft hum Velmora let out at that exact moment made his brain short-circuit.

The silence stretched.

Then Elowen smiled again, this time turning her attention to the twins. "So, what took the three of you so long?"

Evelyn and Everly stiffened in unison.

Evelyn coughed softly. "We were just... talking."

"Yeah," Everly added quickly. "Just catching up with Ethan. You know. After the match."

Elowen raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced.

"Oh?" she said lightly. "That’s all?"

The twins both nodded far too fast.

Elowen sipped again.

"You didn’t think we’d notice?"

Everly blinked. "Notice what?"

Elowen didn’t answer right away.

Instead, she looked around the room and gave the others a knowing glance.

"We spread our senses," she said casually. "After you disappeared."

The twins froze.

Evelyn’s eyes darted to Lilith.

And sure enough, Lilith was the only one who did not give them a confused look.

The other daughters had clearly not been informed.

Evelyn let out a long breath.

"Okay... at least it wasn’t a full social death," she muttered under her breath.

Everly nodded. "Could’ve been worse."

But then Elowen tilted her head slightly.

"And here I thought I was close enough to be invited to a little celebration."

The entire room went still.

Ethan blinked.

Velmora didn’t move—but her lips curled slightly, almost like she’d been waiting for this part.

"What... what celebration?" Isabella asked, suddenly very interested.

Liliana leaned forward slightly. "Did something happen?"

Elowen placed her cup down and smiled softly.

"I’m just saying," she said calmly, "if the twins were having a private little feast with Ethan, it would’ve been polite to invite me too."

Evelyn choked on air.

Everly dropped her spoon.

Seraphina nearly spilled her tea.

Even Velmora’s body shifted with a tiny vibration—like a purr of amusement.

Liliana’s eyes widened. "Wait, feast?"

Isabella leaned forward. "What kind of feast?"

Evelyn waved her hands. "It’s not what you think!"

Everly groaned. "Please don’t say it like that!"

But Elowen just smiled, her tone innocent as ever. "Oh? Then what was it, exactly?"

The twins looked at each other.

Then, at Ethan.

Then at everyone else.

And finally, back at Elowen.

Evelyn sighed. "We just... got close, alright?"

Everly nodded, cheeks red. "We didn’t think anyone noticed."

"Wrong again," Elowen said, crossing her legs. "We always notice."

Seraphina’s eyes narrowed. "So that’s why they looked so happy when they came down."

Liliana leaned back. "I knew something happened. They were glowing too."

Isabella raised a brow. "I thought it was just the shower steam."

Ethan cleared his throat softly. "Can... we not talk about me like I’m not here?"

Everyone ignored him.

Velmora tightened her grip just slightly. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Then she let out a soft sigh, her head still against his chest.

"I missed this," she whispered.
