Incubus Living In A World Of Superpower Users-Chapter 55: Threesome!!??
Chapter 55: Threesome!!??
"A deep one," Everly said. "To Lucas, he was fighting Ethan the whole time. He saw Ethan bleeding, begging, crawling around... and he thought he was absolutely destroying him."
"But in reality," Evelyn said, trying not to snort, "he was just punching the air. Kicking nothing. Screaming at the floor. It looked like he was having a one-man meltdown on stage."
Elowen blinked. "You’re telling me... he fought a fake battle in his own head?"
"Exactly," the twins said together.
"He even gave a speech," Everly giggled. "Yelled out stuff like ’Beg me!’ and ’This is what happens to weaklings!’ to thin air. It was... kind of painful to watch."
"But also hilarious," Evelyn added. "He was so into it. Thought he was the hero of his own movie."
"Meanwhile, Ethan just stood there," Everly said. "Didn’t move. His hands are in his pockets. Watching."
"Like he was waiting for the credits to roll," Evelyn joked.
Elowen stared at them, stunned. "So... everyone saw Lucas fighting the air?"
"Yep."
"And yelling at nothing?"
"Mhm."
"And thinking he won?"
"Oh, totally."
Elowen sat back on the couch, covering her mouth to hide a laugh. "That’s... actually kind of brilliant."
"It was," Everly said proudly. "Ethan told the teacher he made the illusion too strong, so Lucas couldn’t snap out of it right away."
"The only way out was for Lucas to realize it wasn’t real," Evelyn explained. "Or just pass out."
"So the teacher ended the match before it got too sad," Everly said. "And declared Ethan the winner."
"Just like that?" Elowen asked.
"Just like that."
"Even though he didn’t fight?"
"Exactly. That’s what made it so amazing. Ethan didn’t need to."
"He turned the whole match into a dream fight Lucas thought he was winning," Evelyn said. "But to everyone else, it looked like... well..."
"A guy slowly losing it on stage," Everly finished.
Elowen shook her head, smiling. "I can’t believe it. That’s... actually kind of genius."
"It was," Evelyn agreed. "And after the match—"
The twins paused, cheeks suddenly going pink.
"What happened?" Elowen asked curiously.
"Um... nothing big," Everly said quickly.
"Well..." Evelyn added, fidgeting. "We kind of ran to him after the match."
"And maybe kissed him," Everly mumbled.
"On the cheek!" Evelyn added fast. "Just the cheek."
Elowen blinked. Then smirked. "Both of you?"
The twins nodded sheepishly.
"It just happened," Everly said. "We were relieved, and the moment felt right."
Elowen let out a soft laugh. "I’m not judging. You both like him."
Their faces turned even redder.
"We ended up dragging him out of the arena after that," Evelyn said. "Too many people were staring."
"And whispering," Everly added.
"So we ran. Like idiots."
"But happy idiots," Evelyn smiled.
Elowen nodded slowly, her expression thoughtful now. "He’s really growing into something special, isn’t he?"
The twins looked at each other, then back at her.
"Yeah," they said together.
Everly leaned against the back of the couch, sighing. "We didn’t plan any of this, Mom. We just... ended up spending more time with him."
"And the more we did, the more it felt right," Evelyn said. "He’s just easy to be around. He listens. He notices things. He makes you feel like you matter."
"We took him to the mall after the fight," Everly said, grinning again. "Made him try on clothes. Bought him shoes. Got him a hoodie that says ’Property of my girlfriends.’ He actually wore it."
Elowen raised a brow. "He let you buy that?"
"Oh, he fought it for like five seconds," Evelyn said. "Then gave up."
"I think he secretly liked it," Everly added.
"Then we found this restaurant doing a couples challenge quiz," Evelyn said. "And we may or may not have dragged him into that too."
"No rules against threesomes," Everly added proudly. "The restaurant lady said so."
"It was fun," Evelyn said, smiling. "Silly questions, some teasing, forehead kisses..."
"And a few compliments that got way too real," Everly said, nudging her sister. "He called me curvy and dangerous."
"He called me a heartbreaker with a killer walk," Evelyn added with a snort. "Said it like it was a fact."
Elowen laughed. "And I’m guessing you two gave him a hard time back?"
"Of course," they said in unison.
"Then we ended the night with a movie," Everly said. "We thought it was horror. It was... not."
"It had a haunted toaster," Evelyn said, deadpan.
"And a ghost with jazz hands," Everly groaned. "It was awful. We laughed so hard we couldn’t breathe."
"Honestly," Evelyn added, "it was the most fun we’ve had in a long time."
Elowen listened quietly, taking it all in. "So... where are your hearts in all this?"
The girls fell quiet for a second.
Then Everly answered first. "We like him, Mom. Both of us."
"And weirdly, it doesn’t feel wrong," Evelyn said. "We’re not fighting over him or getting jealous. We just... feel the same way."
"And we talk about it. A lot," Everly said. "We’re not hiding anything."
"Especially not from you," Evelyn added. "You’ve always been the one we tell everything to. Even the stuff we’re too shy to say out loud to anyone else."
"You’re like our rock," Everly said, leaning into her mom’s shoulder. "You’ve always been honest with us. So we’re being honest, too."
Elowen smiled, wrapping her arms around both of them. "That’s all I could ever ask for."
"We just wanted you to know," Evelyn whispered.
"And to hear it from us first," Everly said.
Elowen gave them a gentle squeeze. "Then thank you. I love you both more than anything."
The twins held the hug for a moment longer before Elowen gave them a playful tap on the back.
"Alright, enough of the mushy stuff," she said with a smile. "Now go freshen up. Dinner’s ready, and I made it myself—your favorites."
Their eyes lit up instantly.
"Wait, really?" Everly asked, already standing.
"Yep. Everything from scratch," Elowen said proudly.
"No way!" Evelyn grinned. "You made the roasted sweet potato stew?"
"And the honey-glazed mushrooms," Elowen nodded.
The twins squealed and took off toward the stairs, barefoot and full of energy like they hadn’t just unloaded a full romantic drama moments earlier.
"We’ll be down in five!" Everly called out.
"Don’t start without us!" Evelyn added as they disappeared around the corner, giggling.
