The couple slept peacefully, however, Gu Chen was having a terrible headache.
In order to get information about Lu Jinyang, Gu Chen, along with Gu Li, sought help from someone, who just happened to be a drunkard. Before they had said much, the drunkard insisted on drinking for excitement.
Drinking wasn’t supposed to be an issue. Gu Chen could avoid it by saying he just had a stomach surgery. But somehow, the person suddenly shifted his focus to Gu Li.
Gu Li refused to drink, but the person said that if each of them drank a glass, he would definitely help. The condition was tempting. Almost immediately, Gu Li picked up her glass and drank it in one go.
The fifty-eight-degree alcohol went down her throat and burned like fire.
Gu Chen couldn’t drink his glass, just as he was thinking of ways to turn it down, a slender hand reached over again, took the glass, and drank it all.
The cooperation was achieved, but Gu Chen’s head was throbbing as he looked at the drunken and unconscious Gu Li.
Having finally returned to the hotel, Gu Chen was drenched in sweat. The trouble was that Gu Li, in her unconscious state, kept snuggling up to him, a feeling that drove him almost insane.
At this moment, Gu Chen felt like he was going insane.
After placing Gu Li on the bed, he took off her shoes and covered her with the quilt, then turned to the bathroom, wet a towel, and came out to wipe her face.
Gu Li always had a good tolerance for alcohol; the times she got drunk could be counted on one hand. Moreover, Gu Chen never saw Gu Li vomit, although she did act crazy when drunk.
When he wiped her face, her hands restlessly swatted his, mumbling words he couldn’t understand.
Gu Chen ignored her and continued to wipe her face. When he reached her chin, he paused, not knowing whether to continue further. On the way back, she complained of heat and had unbuttoned her shirt herself, and now, as long as he slightly bent over, he could see everything underneath.
He didn’t hesitate for long before he moved his gaze away and retracted his hand. He thought he’d let her take a bath and change her clothes after she sobered up in the morning.
But in the next second, as he turned around, his large hand was pulled downwards by a force, his palm coming into contact with something soft, sending a shiver through his entire body. The sensation was exactly the same as he had felt back then!
Gu Chen froze, afraid to turn around for fear of seeing a scene that would make his blood boil, but selfishly, he didn’t want to move his hand away, even though he had the strength to do so.
As time went by, Gu Chen realized the temperature in his palm was getting higher, and the force that had been pulling his hand had long since disappeared, yet his hand remained in place.
Realizing this, Gu Chen recoiled as if electrocuted, ashamed of his actions. He stepped into the bathroom in large strides, giving the impression of fleeing desperately.
The shower lasted a full half-hour before the water stopped.
When Gu Chen emerged from the bathroom, for the first time, he wrapped himself in the hotel bathrobe. He stood by the bed for a long while, only lying down slowly when he confirmed that Gu Li was indeed asleep.
This night was destined to be a long and difficult one.
Not knowing how long he had slept, in a state of half-awareness, he felt something moving on him, waking with a start to witness a scene he would never forget in his lifetime.
At some point, Gu Li seemed to have woken up, or more precisely, she was half-drunk, half-awake. Her clothes were half pulled open, and she was unconsciously rubbing against him while lying on him.
Gu Chen was shocked and immediately pushed her away to turn on the light.
What he saw was unbelievable. There was an unnatural redness on Gu Li’s face, her eyes were blurred, resembling the effects of having taken that kind of drug.
