Indulging Mrs. Lu-Chapter 989 - 986: I Want to Stay Here Tonight

It’s been a really exhausting day, but luckily it ended well. She desperately needed a good night’s sleep.

Just as she was about to close the door, a force stopped it from shutting.

Lu Xinyun frowned and looked over, only to see Nangong Xuan, who appeared out of nowhere, pressing his large hand against her door and staring directly at her.

Following his gaze, she looked down and realized she was only wearing a silk nightgown. She quickly retreated behind the door, leaving only her head exposed to look at him.

"Do you need something?"

He glanced at her, "Did you hear about what happened downstairs just now?"

"Yeah, I asked Shuang’er when she came over earlier."

He nodded slightly, his eyes sliding down from her face and then back up, his brows barely furrowing, "Are you afraid I’ll look at you?"

Lu Xinyun stiffened a bit, shaking her head, "When are you going back to the hotel?"

He glanced inside, "I want to stay here tonight."

Lu Xinyun: "!!!"

Seeing his expression after hearing her words, Nangong Xuan’s lips curved slightly, a playful thought rising in his mind.

"Why not? Can’t I?"

"Of course not! This is my room!"

After speaking, Nangong Xuan gave her a meaningful look, as well as at the big bed behind her, "I meant staying at the Lu Family home."

Lu Xinyun’s face froze, realizing she’d misunderstood, and her face flushed visibly. Cursing herself for being embarrassing, she cleared her throat and righteously said, "Of course, I knew you meant staying at my home. But only my room is empty in the house, so there’s no other room available for you."

Nangong Xuan watched her make excuses without a change in his expression, enjoying her shy demeanor after her blunder, without any intention of speaking.

Feeling helpless under his gaze, Lu Xinyun could only say, "Why don’t you ask my mommy if there’s any available room in the house?"

Seeing his smile deepen, she became angry out of embarrassment, lowly scolding, "Take your hand away, I want to sleep now."

Saying this, she gave a strong push, and whether or not Nangong Xuan deliberately lessened his strength, she actually managed to close the door.

After the door was closed, Lu Xinyun was taken aback for a moment, then locked it, dove into bed, and went to sleep.

Recalling Nangong Xuan’s rogue-like manner and the way he looked at her nightgown just now, she felt both angry and amused, yet also thought she was being overly sensitive.

Three years ago, when they were neighbors, he often saw her just out of the shower. She didn’t know why, but just now she felt a bit embarrassed.

Lu Xinyun rolled around in bed for a good half an hour, finding that she was wide awake despite being very sleepy earlier. The more she lay there, the more wide awake she became.

With no other choice, she wrapped herself in a robe and went downstairs.

The guests had all left, and only the servants were tidying up. She frowned, had Nangong Xuan really gone?

Xiao Qing came downstairs for a drink of water, seeing Lu Xinyun in a robe, pacing around the house made her eyebrows tighten slightly, "Xinyun, what are you looking for this late?"

Just as Lu Xinyun was about to head out, she heard her mom’s voice, and with a start, she turned back smiling, "Mommy, I thought you were still outside seeing guests off."

Xiao Qing came up to her, not in a good mood, saying, "Come on, who are you looking for?"
