Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System-Chapter 377: Archangel Mikaela and Cassius, Figuring Out How To Get Into The 7th Heavenly Arch
Archangel Mikaela found Cassius's question quite funny.
"Now why would I do something like that? If those Angels lost possession of their Bloodlines, then it's their own fault," she began. "Although this is Heaven, we still adhere to the common law of the jungle. Only that way can our kind remain revered. Though I am curious how you managed to assimilate so many Bloodlines into your own; it's quite the mystery."
The image of a holy man bathed in light flashed through Mikaela's mind, but that thought quickly dispersed at the absurdity of such a notion.
Realizing he had to give a satisfactory answer here, Cassius said, "It's a special trait passed down from my father and augmented by my mother. As for what it really is or where it resides within me, I'm not too keen on the details."
Mikaela's brows furrowed. "I don't recall Adam ever possessing such an Ability, but he always was one to keep secrets. As for your mother…"
The Holy Sanctuary of Yggdrasil's inner workings were unknown to many people, even to the Archangels themselves. And though Mikaela knew a bit more about the place than most, she still couldn't say for certain that such an overpowered ability like Bloodline Assimilation didn't exist among their kind.
Changing the subject. "So will you tell me why it is that you've come here? I can surmise the answer myself, but I'd feel it best if you were to say the words yourself."
Cassius grinned, showing off his pearly white teeth. "I've come for your sole daughter, Memphis Mikaela," he said without a care. "I believe you'd prefer me call her by that surname instead of the one belonging to her father, no?"
Mikaela's smile declined a little at the mention of that insufferable man. However, seeing Cassius's warm smile, she knew he meant no harm by it.
"What is it that you want with my daughter exactly, Cassius Steele?" Mikaela folded her slender arms under her bountiful breasts, with all five pairs of her wings unfurling ever so slightly. "I'd say that you follow in your father's footsteps of chasing after every beautiful woman, but you're not like him in that regard, are you?"
Cassius exhaled deeply. 'Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. With the presence of the System that forbids sexual interactions until I unlock all its Idle Benefits, I never received the chance…'
But with that being no more than a pointless wallow of his, he matched Mikaela's golden gaze, his mesmerizing multi-colored eyes peering into her own.
"I have nothing else I need here," he suddenly said, taking Mikaela by surprise. "I just wanted to meet you, and now that I have, I'll be on my way."
A bit taken aback, it took Archangel Mikaela a second or two to understand what Cassius really meant. Though, after she did, her smile widened as she stared at his departing back with a pleasant look in her eyes.
"To think that you went through what was most certainly a great amount of trouble in order to find her and this place," Mikaela said smilingly. "And all so as to make sure my daughter was in good hands. You're quite the noble one, aren't you?"
Cassius stopped in his tracks, and without turning around, replied, "You're wrong; I'm the furthest thing from noble. Memphis was simply on the way, is all. Furthermore, I'm especially busy right now and don't want to reconnect with her, for more time than I want to spend will be used up."
Mikaela's opinion of this young man became fonder and fonder. And as she watched him leave her room and the Palace, she couldn't help but think, 'He'd be a good fit for my Memphis. He was even aware that she's in the long process of training to better herself right now, which is likely one of the main reasons why he's leaving as he is.'
"Cassius Steele," mused Mikaela. "What a kind young man. And to think he's blood-related to that womanizing anomaly; you'd never have guessed based off their personalities."
While the strongest Archangel in the Heavenly Kingdom got lost in thought, the man who caused it had just reappeared next to Yimin and the rest.
Surprisingly, Zara was the first one among them to reach his side. "Did you do what you wanted to do, Master? You were so fast that it doesn't seem like you got anything done! I-If you did it because me and the others are waiting out here, then you should go back i—"
"Your cutesy, innocent act ain't fooling anyone, you crazy b*tch!" Maxy shouted with a gangster's mug. "And he definitely didn't come out early for your sake, so you might as well erase that from your mind right this second!"
Scowling in secret, Zara turned toward Maxy with a friendly expression. "Why, whatever do you mean~? Teehee—"
"Don't teehee, skanky biatch!" Yimin growled, her fangs extended. "Yimins will eatis you and shits you out!!"
'These whores are so annoying,' Zara thought in annoyance, though outwardly smiled in Cassius's direction. 'I'm never going to be able to get my Master to fall for me if these three bimbos are always around.'
Over the last period of time of scouring the 6th Arch of Heaven for Memphis, Zaraphina had changed tremendously. It was to the point that she no longer felt any attraction toward those of the same sex. In her eyes, there was only Cassius.
The man who bested her without contest.
The love of her life!
The one she planned to marry and have strong heirs with~!!
"...."
Ignoring all of them, Cassius looked to Raijin and Nyxvoldar, who stood in the background like they'd rather die than get themselves involved with the crazies.
'I understand that feeling…'
Shaking his head to erase distracting thoughts, Cassius looked to the skies above. Beyond the 6th Heavenly Arch. Beyond the Dimensional Barrier that prevented access to a higher plane of reality.
'The 7th Arch of Heaven,' he thought. 'To get in there and request a meeting with the big man himself, I have very few options. Asking Archangel Mikaela to do me a favor could work, but if at all possible, I'd prefer not to be indebted to anyone. Especially not a woman like her. Just one look at her and I could tell that behind all that beauty, there was a vicious woman who'd even murder the Favored Prince of HELL Lucifer if it really came down to it.'
With the Mikaela route not being a viable option, there was truly only one thing Cassius could do.
