Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1486: Unbothered
Chapter 1486: Unbothered
At first, it was barely perceptible—a faint crackling in the air that seemed to grow louder with each passing second. But as the noise intensified, Rain felt a growing sense of dread gnawing at his insides, knowing all too well what it meant.
Little by little, his control over mana began to slip through his fingers, like grains of sand slipping through an hourglass. With each passing moment, the static noise grew louder, drowning out his thoughts and clouding his mind with confusion.
"I am tired of this trick..." Rain thought.
Before long, the encirclement was finished around Rain and he was enveloped by darkness. The cubes weren’t done, though. They made the dark liquid contort and decrease in size in order to completely smash Rain... since he couldn’t use magic, he wouldn’t be able to escape this time.
Still, before Rain could be touched by the dark liquid, a powerful impact suddenly echoed inside the sphere, and then the liquid stopped moving. A sequence of quick and powerful sounds echoed inside the sphere, making it expand once again.
The cubes tried to fight back, and the noise inside persisted... eventually, the dark liquid cracked and then began to fly in different directions, but only for a moment... they all disappeared after Rain made them appear inside his pocket dimension.
"How utterly boring... the same stupid trick won’t work on me," Rain said.
As Rain surveyed the strange and ominous liquid surrounding him, a sense of unease settled over him. There was something hauntingly familiar about its dark, viscous surface, a familiarity that sent a shiver down his spine despite his words.
It was then that he realized the truth: this was the same substance that had been used to construct the spherical robots and deadly ring blades that had attacked him in battle before.
But as Rain studied the liquid more closely, he noticed something peculiar about the blades that protruded from its surface. Each blade was shaped like a ring, and as they rotated with a sinister whir, they emitted a low, ominous sound, a sound that seemed to reverberate through the very fabric of reality itself.
It was a sound that Rain knew all too well. It had the power to disrupt his ability to wield magic, rendering him powerless against his enemies. But as he pondered this newfound threat, a glimmer of hope flickered within him.
Rain knew that while the sound emitted by the rotating blades was powerful, it was not invincible. With the right countermeasures—a more powerful noise, he would disrupt its effects and regain control over his magical abilities.
"Let’s see..." Rain said, summoning a bit of the dark liquid before using Information Extraction.

"A material that fights especially the properties of mana, huh?" Rain said.
Rain was a bit confused. He thought that the material only had a single functionality, but it seemed that if it was used in another way, it could also disrupt mana. In any case, he passed a message to the lords inside his pocket dimension, and soon, they began to work.
"You are very adaptable. Not as strong as the dragon, but quite resourceful."
"I didn’t sit on my ass for thousands of years slowly building my strength to only fight weaker opponents, after all," Rain said. "I am an expert at fighting enemies much stronger than me. Well then, what is next? Don’t disappoint me, okay?"
Rais still didn’t care about Rain’s words and just used another trick of the cubs in order to test him. From the sides of the cubes that had quadrangular lines, parts of it began to emerge while being pointed at Rain... the parts expanded, getting longer but thinner. At the same time, the cubes moved to the limits of the zone until they couldn’t anymore.
When that was done, Rain could see countless spears slowly moving toward him from all angles... the spears looked like when they would reach him, their tips would be so thin that they would be basically like needles... but there were hundreds of thousands of those approaching him and there was no escape...
Much to the enemy’s surprise, Rain just crossed his arms and then waited for the spears to approach him... that seemed like an act... no one sane would let so many weapons hit him. All of a sudden, the spears began to extend themselves many times faster, and then they reached Rain, and he disappeared along the sea of spears.
Blood began to fall from some spears, so it looked like the plan worked. However, soon they began to fall apart and turn into dust, alongside the cubes that they came from... While watching that, Rais finally recognized Rain’s skill... he was truly a troublesome enemy.

The Void Path received 10.000 experience points.
...
As the spears hit him, Rain used Information Extraction. Everything in Rais’ territory was made of data, so Rain could have that very same aspect against him. It was pretty impressive that he could alter the fabric of reality with only information, but that was what he studied that aspect for... he was the living embodiment that knowledge is power.
In a couple of seconds, Rais lost thousands of cubes, so he forced the others to pull out the spears before Rain could turn them into dust. As the relentless onslaught of spears rained down upon him, Rain stood resolute, his body battered and bloodied from the barrage of attacks. Each spear found its mark with chilling accuracy, piercing his flesh and leaving behind a trail of crimson in its wake. From head to toe, Rain was covered in blood, his form marred by countless wounds that glistened in the dim light of the chamber... However, he didn’t care.
