Chapter 1492: Make me

As Rain stood before him, Rais felt a surge of unease take over him, a sensation he had rarely experienced in all his millions of years of existence. For the first time in his long and storied existence, he found himself facing an opponent unlike any he had encountered before, an enemy whose potential for growth and evolution far surpassed anything the machine gods had ever witnessed.

In Rain, Rais saw not just a mere mortal but a being of flesh and blood whose capacity for adaptation and change seemed boundless. With each passing moment, Rain seemed to evolve and grow in ways that defied the very laws of nature, his power and prowess expanding at an exponential rate that left Rais struggling to keep pace.

It was a humbling realization, one that filled Rais with a sense of uncertainty and trepidation. For the first time, he found himself confronted with the unsettling prospect of facing an adversary whose true potential was impossible to predict or quantify, a being whose actions and abilities were as unpredictable as they were incomprehensible.

"Stop that already..." Rais said.

"Make me," Rain said. "That should be fun for both of us."

As if ignoring his defenses weren’t enough, Rain improved his Origin Punch by also making what Rais was doing... stealing the opponent’s data. That would only get more dangerous from that onward since Rain’s power of data draining would increase, and Rais would decrease.

Rais realized that Rain had to be stopped there... it would be impossible to know what would happen in the slimmest chance of a human obtaining all the knowledge and power of the aspects. If one of the machine gods were to obtain all that, it would be fine since their goal would eventually be reached, but if a being like a human were to do so... all reality would be in danger.

The Transcendental Human path was updated.

Level 30: Light Nullification - Manipulate the forces of light to your advantage, become attuned to its energy, gaining resistance to it. Passively decreases the damage caused by all light-related attacks by one thousand points per level.

The new skill immediately started working, and the attacks began to make Rais’ body shake with each hit, but soon, he responded to that by teleporting away and then kicking Rain from behind... a melee attack, a true melee attack. It was the first time Rais decided to use something like that.

Rain ended up falling to the bottom of the dimension and then colliding with its limits... he saw the pixels on the ground distorting violently in a wide area thanks to the impact, but it didn’t cause any holes or fissures in it. When he got up, he saw Rais looking at him with his white eyes... now he was finally and clearly showing his anger... and Rain liked that.

"That wouldn’t be right unless I forced you to come this far," Rain said and then smiled.

Once again, Rais appeared behind Rain instantly, but he didn’t fall for that trick, and while he was kicked, he also hit Rais’ face with his elbow... Rain was sent flying in the opposite direction while Rais took several steps backward.

The Information path was updated.

Lvl 45: Sentiment Analysis - Analyzes textual data to discern emotional tone, sentiment, and intent, enabling the interpretation of human communication at scale. You can predict the target’s moves based on their body language and expressions. Higher levels increase the chance of success of the skill.

"Hehehe," Rain said while he touched the ground with his hands. Then, he stopped moving and slid for a few seconds. "For the machine god of information, you are pretty stupid. I will teach you the best way to use your powers. By the way, thank you very much."

Those words confused Rais. Rain’s next movements confused him even more since he put his hands together... he didn’t have the knowledge of his current actions, even though he knew that he was going to use his Rain technique.

In the next moment, countless water droplets appeared around Rais, but he shielded himself with the dark liquid that he summoned in the blink of an eye... the shield was bombarded by the droplets, but soon it fell apart, and the machine god was hit by them... Rais also felt his data being drained with every passing moment... Rain used his technique alongside the information path and data extraction... that was right now. The dark liquid was turning into lifeless dust.

As Rais felt his power waning, he quickly teleported behind Rain again, but Rain disappeared from his spot when he was almost kicked... Rais looked around in confusion, only to realize that Rain had escaped to his pocket dimension. Only for a moment, though, since Rais was soon bombarded by the Draining Rain, or so was that how Rain decided to call the technique.

"You can copy that. I will allow it," Rain said. "I won’t demand any copyrights for it."

Rain appeared a few hundred meters above Rais, and soon, the machine god did the same thing... for a first attempt, it wasn’t so bad. Almost completely white water particles of water appeared around Rain and then they began to hit him while Rain also used the same technique on the enemy...

Speaking logically, the one who had the fewer mana would lose soon, and that would be Rain. However, the reality wasn’t that simple, and Rais soon learned the hard way.
