Chapter 1495: Lidos

"Wow, you look really bad..." Elisabetha said. "While that didn’t kill you, you look the worst that you have ever been..."

Rain’s eyes were flinching since he felt that a giant hammer was pounding his head with each heartbeat. His nose was bleeding nonstop, and that was only half of the problem since his precious wounds were still basically open.

Regardless, Rain ignored that and then moved toward the first layer of that giant planet and then he used Data Extraction and Data Mining together. Thanks to the information that he got from Rais, Rain could tell that those trees were essentially the same giant stomps that absorbed all the energy of countless planets. Rain was able to absorb plenty of energy to fill his mana and nutrients to repair his body in less than ten minutes. His head was still hurting like a bitch, though.

Without hesitation, Rain teleported to where he left the others, and soon he found himself in the void of space... he blinked several times in surprise since he knew that he hadn’t missed the location of the planet, but soon he looked to his right side and saw the planet moving away... he was pretty sure that it’s movements didn’t make it move in that direction.

Before long, Rain used Teleport toward the place, and then he found Iori on the same spot he left the others... when Rain was about to ask what had happened, he pointed to the entrance of his pocket dimension that he had just opened.

"We should talk inside. It will be better this way," Iori said. "By the way, you look like shit, even though you don’t have any wounds."

"It is a long story," Rain said.

Rain’s eyes were still twitching thanks to the headache pretty much all the time... that was starting to get annoying too, but he couldn’t do much about that. Even using Full Heal every moment wasn’t being of much use.

In any case, when Rain entered the pocket dimension, he found that everyone looked relatively fine... a bit depressed, but fine. However, when Rain began to look for his friends, he saw some unconscious people on the ground... they looked fine, but their presence...

"What happened to them?" Rain asked.

"... They had their spirits stolen," Iori said. "Ask the others anything else."

Rain found his friends and family in the middle of the pocket dimension. They were trying to keep their cool since looking depressed would affect the morale of the army, but they were in total silence. Only their expressions showed a bit of focus.

"Rain... I take it that you succeed," Roan said and then closed his eyes. "Although you trusted us, we disappointed you. I am sorry.’

"Since you guys are fine, that is what is important," Rain said. "The dragon god attacked Lidos by surprise while you guys kept him busy, right?"

"That isn’t an excuse," Sealyn said. "We failed and now we lost a great chance and the dragon god also took the souls of a bunch of us to strengthen himself... that isn’t all. The machine gods are on the move and doing something insane, too."

Sealyn recounted the group’s battle, detailing the task of dispelling the towering specters of mana that had blocked their path. It was a time-consuming and energy-draining endeavor, one that had kept them occupied for longer than they had anticipated. But despite the challenges they faced, they pressed on with determination, knowing that the stakes were too high to falter or waste time.

While reflecting on their struggles, Sealyn couldn’t help but feel a sense of frustration towards Lidos, the machine god whose machinations seemed intent on thwarting their every move. Lidos appeared to enjoy wasting their time, willing to expend whatever energy necessary to achieve his goals, even if it meant sacrificing the spirits under his control in the process, but that was fine since they actually couldn’t be destroyed.

It was a sobering reminder of the relentless nature of their adversaries, and the lengths to which they would go to achieve their aims. But despite the odds stacked against them, Sealyn and the rest of the group remained undaunted, their resolve unshaken as they continued to push forward in their quest to thwart the machine gods and regain their freedom.
