Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1530: Going all out
Chapter 1530: Going all out
When Rain finally stopped moving, his body was convulsing in pain... even though he was healing it, it felt like it was just asking for the sweet release of death instead of trying to fight back.
"It looks like your body is smarter than you. It wishes for a quick death while your brain isn’t operating in reality. Shall I help you with that? I won’t ask for much as payment."
Lonos was flying a few meters above Rain while enjoying the current situation his enemy was in. Rain immediately got up while healing his body, he also teleported his limbs to help him heal faster, but soon Lonos raised his fist again while smiling... Rain clenched his teeth in exasperation since he couldn’t punch or kick the enemy yet, but that didn’t stop him.
Lonos head was suddenly pushed backward, and his attack stopped charging... at the same time, Rain’s forehead began to bleed... that was the first time he tried to use the Origin Strike with his forehead, but it worked fairly well since the smile disappeared from the enemies face and then he showed some surprise.
"This would have been healed almost instantly if Terra were healing me. She must be trying hard," Rain thought. I can’t fall behind them when it comes to willpower and determination. I can accept falling behind in anything else, but not on that."
Thanks to his determination, Rain suddenly had an idea. When his right arm healed, he used his strongest Origin Punch. Lonos blocked the attack with his left arm, but he was still pushed backward several meters in the air. That was annoying, but he didn’t mind since the cost of that attack was Rain blasting his own arm to smithereens...
When Lonos was about to smile, he suddenly raised his eyebrow when Rain’s arm began to be rebuilt, and the process was over in five seconds... he had seen the battle with Arel before teleporting him there, so he knew that he had some outside help, but the same thing couldn’t be applied now...
While Lonos was thinking about what had happened, Rain blasted his right arm again to attack Lonos... the same thing happened before, but then Lonos looked at his arm that he had blocked, and he found a small mark on it... the mark of Rain’s knuckles. It soon disappeared, but that bothered him a lot.
"It looks like you have completely disregarded your very own life. I can’t sense the power of the aspects in action, so you are using something else. That should be..."
Before Lonos could finish his sentence, Rain attacked again... Lonos blocked the attack, and the mark was back... it seemed a bit bigger now. Rain was truly getting stronger, and the previous attack hadn’t been a fluke.
The skill Full-Heal leveled up.
The skill Light Speed leveled up.
The skill Origin Punch leveled up.
Rain combined the powers of Full-Heal and Light Speed to make him regenerate as fast as before, and while that consumed a lot of mana, that was a problem for when he became out of it.
As Lonos looked at Rain, some understanding flickered in his eyes. In that moment, he recognized the unwavering resolve that burned within Rain’s soul, a determination so fierce and unyielding that it bordered on obsession. It was a resolve born of necessity, forged in the crucible of adversity, and tempered by the fires of countless battles.
Rain’s commitment to victory was absolute, a single-minded dedication that transcended all else. He was willing to make whatever sacrifices were necessary to emerge victorious, even if it meant subjecting himself to untold hardships and pain. For Rain understood that true strength was not measured by one’s physical prowess alone but by the depth of one’s resolve and the willingness to endure whatever trials fate may bestow.
With each passing moment, Rain’s determination only grew stronger, fueled by the knowledge that his path to victory lay not in brute force alone but in the strategic application of his skills and abilities. He possessed the means to survive even the most dire of circumstances, drawing upon the vast reservoir of knowledge that he obtained thanks to the aspects.
"Let’s see if your body and mind will withstand this until you can force me to use all of my power."
Rain didn’t say anything, and he just attacked when Lonos did the same... he clenched his teeth when his body was blown away after he received the Origin Strike, and his limbs were torn apart from his body, but he quickly stopped his blast and recovered them with Telekinesis. At the same time, Rain looked at Lonos in the air, checking his arm... the mark there had grown larger.
"It seems that attacking with that technique leaves me a bit open for counterattacks. I need to thank you for making me learn... I suspect that the dragon would try to exploit this."
Once again, Rain ignored Lonos’ words and then attacked when he had the chance... while his right arm was being healed, Lonos decided to use the Origin Strike, but then Rain surprised him with his own Origin Strike with his forehead. More blood began to fall from his forehead as he felt his skull hurting with pain. Still, he didn’t stop... while Lonos was surprised, he blew his limbs with the Origin Strike on the forehead of Lonos again and again... he kept healing himself only to do that much.
When Lonos checked his forehead with his hand, he saw a bit of the liquid that his body was made of leaving the wound... but soon his body glowed, and then the liquid returned to his body. All the signs of the wounds disappeared instantly as well.
"All your hard work and pain erased by the sands of time in a mere moment. What do you think of that?"
"I think that I will be able to use that power better than you when it becomes mine," Rain declared.
