Infinite Skin System: Starting as An Eldritch Knight-Chapter 42: Shadow Apothecary
Carter didn’t buy the information. He felt like he didn’t need to.
The Bronze Train travelled only in Elite or lower dimensions. It meant that the highest threat level was only a 10 STAR Elite.
Carter was confident enough in his power to walk in a new dimension blind. Or maybe, he was stupid enough. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
The train came to a halt at the Corrupted Corps station and he got off.
The projections saw him off and bowed at him.
"It is a great pleasure to serve you, Paradox."
The door closed and the train left. Carter widened his eyes and followed the train as it went away.
’Why did it call me Paradox?’
It must have been mistaken him for something else. He wasn’t a Paradox. Or was he?
The Skin System came to his mind. A mysterious second system that no Primer knew about. It could be a work of a Paradox.
’Whatever the truth was, I would discover it.’
The portal appeared and Carter examined the other side briefly. It was day but there was no direct sunlight where the portal was.
Carter walked over the portal. He expected to be dropped off in a futuristic city or a multi-planet society. But no, he was at a grass field in the middle of nowhere.
The Prime Train picked a good place to drop him off.
[Corrupted Corps World detected]

Carter smiled. He smiled because an entire new skin had bestowed him.
’Let’s see what you are.’

Carter’s eyelids fluttered gently.
’A healer skin? For a futuristic world? Something is definitely wrong.’
Carter looked around once more. He was more and more suspicious of his estimation. This world might be very different from what he expected.

Carter bought the watch. It materialized onto his wrist.
’Time is of the essence.’

A small usb stick appeared in his palm. However, in the place of where the connector should be was a sharp needle that could easily penetrate any flesh.
<-199 Prime Coins>

’The Primers really had thought of anything.’
Carter put the translator into his pocket and checked the watch. It was two in the afternoon. But the sky was grey and sad.
This world didn’t seem to have much sunlight even in the day. Perfect for a night dweller like Dracula.
Carter started walking and kept walking for hours. He didn’t use any supernatural power at all. The grass field kept on going and going until he saw a small path on the grass.
’This world has humans. But why does a world called Corrupted Corps have so much nature left?’
He continued on that path until he heard a carriage behind him. Carter turned back to see a Victorian-style horse carriage approaching him.
"Where might you be going, stranger?" The coachman asked.
He had a top hat on him and wore a well-tailored suit. That fashion didn’t scream futuristic at all to Carter.
Carter didn’t understand anything he said. He smiled and used his Hypnosis Ability. The coachman’s eyes went wide and his mind was shut off.
Carter climbed onto the carriage and plunged the Translator into the coachman. It peeped a few times.
[New language registered]
Carter then plunged himself with the Translator, he learned the language of this world in seconds.
"Hello, kind sir?"
The coachman heard an unfamiliar voice. He woke up from his hypnosis and looked to the side. A pale man with dark hair was beside his carriage. He had unusually long hair. Those hair wouldn’t fair much in a factory.
"Oh, hello?" The coachman said. He had completely forgotten everything that just happened, "Where might you be going, stranger?"
"I’m going to Orkshire. Might I have a lift?" Carter said.
"Not at all. Climb on."
Orkshire, the town that the coachman was heading to.
Through Hypnosis, Carter had asked the coachman about the basic information of this world.
This was no futuristic world. This world had only had its first industrial revolution and arrived at its coal and steam age.
’I wonder why this world was named the Corrupted Corps.’
Carter arrived at Orkshire on the carriage. The coachman was kind enough to not ask him for any pennies.
’This world certainly has industrial revolution all over it. Even their currency system was something that Earth once used.’
Carter waved goodbye to the coachman and started to explore Orkshire. Orkshire was not a town. It was a city. But it paled in comparison with Barena of Terrorstate.
It had a coal factory with black smoke columns that went up to the sky.
’Well. It’s time to find a way to survive in this world.’
By using the power of the Ghost Clothes, he manifested a top hat and put on his head. The pale man walked through the streets.
In Corrupted Corps, currency was split into penny, shilling, and pound. Penny as a bronze coin. Shilling as a silver coin. And pound as a gold coin.
The most popular job in the world was factory worker. Carter quickly learned that just by walking around and eavesdropping conversations.
Then he came across a bulletin board.
This world desperately lacked healers. Every job posted on the bulletin board was an invitation to treat some kind of illness or injury.
’Now I know why the Skin System gave me a doctor.’
He looked through the notices and snatched the one with the biggest reward.
Another woman almost took it but he was faster.
She looked at him and scanned him from top to bottom.
"Excuse me, sir! Are you really a physician? I need the poster."
Carter was not offended by her rudeness at all. He smiled and took off his top hat.
His expression made the woman freeze from awe. The face of the pale man was a sight to behold.
"Pleasure to meet you, Miss. I am... Count Dracula."
Carter grabbed her hand gently and kissed it.
