Infinite Skin System: Starting as An Eldritch Knight-Chapter 46: Abandoned Infirmary
Carter approached another zombie. He unsheathed the Prisoner. The blade rang in his hand like it found the perfect prey.
’The Prisoner is restless... This world might be more suitable for Zeneros Blackburn than even Dracula.’
Carter turned into a blur and bolted past the zombie. He sheathed his sword with a ’click’ as the head of the zombie flew to the sky. His neck shot out a column of blood.
Those dark blood formed floating streams that found their way to the Prisoner.
’Huh? The Prisoner is absorbing the Undead power.’
His blade became stronger. He didn’t gain any Synchronization nor Prime Coin.
Carter approached the zombie again and kicked it to the ground. He plunged the blade into its chest and pinned it there.
Black blood climbed onto the sword like a living parasite.
Carter’s pupils dilated.
<+10 Prime Coin>
<Current Prime Coins>: 1,664
The zombie lay flat on the ground. No longer reacting.
’Eldritch Knight CAN kill a zombie by letting the Prisoner feed on its black blood.’
The Prisoner was a powerful Terror. Once that the Eldritch Knight could control and harness power form. However, if it kept drinking Undead Blood, Carter wondered what would happen.
’There is only one way to find out.’
Carter squatted down and tried to transform the zombie into a shard. Luckily, the progress bar still showed up even if its blood was sucked dry.

’Ah. I know there will be a catch.’
Sucking the blood out would cause the zombie to become just an ordinary corpse. No more Undead Shard.
Carter rubbed his chin and thought for a few seconds. He was pondering whether an Undead Shard was better or feeding the Prisoner was better.
Feeding also yielded him Prime Coins. But he didn’t need it that much at the moment.
Carter leaned more on acquiring more shards. As he could collect new skins and new abilities.
’Undead Shard it is.’
[DRACULA EQUIPPED]
Carter turned back to the pale man. Eldritch Knight was fancy with his swordsmanship. But Dracula could neutralize a zombie with a flick of a finger. Dracula was quicker.
Carter continued on the harrowed streets of Orkshire and turned any zombie he found into a Shard.

As big as Orkshire was, there weren’t that many zombies. He looked far and wide but could only find around ten zombies after a few hours.
Carter took a look at his watch.
’2:30 AM. Still a few hours left until sunrise. Still time to try and look for the ingredients.’
Cloud Powder. Holy Water. And Blood Seeds. They were the three ingredients Carter needed.
He began to loot the house inside the quarantined zone. He didn’t find anything useful. However, there was quite a lot of pennies and shillings lying around waiting to pick up.
’Welp. At least I found some money.’
Then he found an infirmary. Or more precisely, a former infirmary. The place was deserted now and the only shadows inside the building were those of the undead.
Carter pointed his finger at the iron gate and blasted it open.
He walked inside and was immediately swarmed by a pack of corrupted hounds.
’So... This corruption can also transfer to animals. Interested.’
The hounds rushed at him. Carter didn’t even look at them and simply flicked his finger.
The hounds exploded into blood clouds. He then used those blood to form dense blood spears that pinned the hounds into the ground.
"Good doggies. Let me end your misery."
Carter grabbed the head of a hound and turned it into a shard.

"Come to Daddy!"
The pale man wagged his finger at a hound pinned on the ground. The blood spear flew over and carried the hound with it.

Carter turned all the dogs into shards and approached the Infirmary building. He aimed his finger at the door and blasted it open.
There were quite a few zombies inside.
Carter licked his lips and rubbed his hand greedily.
The interior of the Infirmary turned into a storm of blood as the zombie exploded one after another. Carter used the blood in the air to control the movement of the zombies.
He kept them freezing so he could turn them into skin shards one by one.

Unfortunately, even after killing a lot of zombies. Not even one Major Shard showed up.
However, Carte found something else worth celebrating.
"Elise Hozier’s guide to Medicine and Herbs. Hmm. A herbalism book? Maybe it has the information I need to identify the ingredients."
[SHADOW APOTHECARY EQUIPPED]
Carter transformed into the skinny doctor again. He intended to throw the book into the Brewer’s Chest. But instead, a window popped up.
[Knowledge of the item is aligned with Shadow Apothecary]
[Absorb?]
’Well, of course.’
The book disappeared and the doctor instantly learned more about the herbs and medicine in this world. It was knowledge that he already knew but now he had their proper names and terms.
’I got around 3 pounds from all the looting. Let me see if I can get lucky at the market tomorrow.’
Carter continued to check all the corners of the Infirmary, trying to see if there were any similar books or money.
There weren’t. But he heard footsteps on the roof.
[DRACULA EQUIPPED]
The man in black carefully climbed into the window. He had a cloth mask that covered the lower half of his face.
The man looked around and was visibly confused by how empty it was. He tip-toed inside the building and approached the wall.
"I hope that you’re still here..." The man in black whispered. He pressed into the wall. A hidden compartment shot out.
"You should never speak aloud while you’re alone, friend."
The man widened his eyes. He didn’t have time to turn back as Carter grabbed him from behind and pinned him into the wall. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
The pale man hissed at the man’s neck. He had a sweet, soft scent on his skin.
No. It wasn’t a man. It was a woman.
