Li Ling's smarmy grin froze for the barest heartbeat, then the spike finished its job.

A wet and cruel sound carried across the arena as it pierced clean through him, tailbone to mouth, lifting him like a skewered offering upon an altar.

For a moment, nobody reacted, because none of theirs minds accepted it.

But right after that, the entire stadium detonated dramatically.

"What—?!"

"HE—!"

"Impossible!!"

The lower stands surged to their feet like a monolith, disbelief sweeping through them so violently that even the most seasoned disciples forgot to jeer, to breathe, and even to clap.

All that was left for them to do was leave their eyes wide open like copper bells, their throats dry as if dehydrated, and their faces pale as if they had just seen a ghost.

The middle layer spectators were worse, because they had been watching the entire tournament with the quiet certainty that Li Ling was untouchable, that even if he played with opponents, the end was always the same.

So when they saw his body pinned and hanging, they didn't cheer… they panicked!

"That's a killing blow!"

"N-No way!"

"Did Bai Yegui actually do it?!"

On the Asura Blood side, the reaction was immediate and violent as a wave of killing intent rose so sharply that disciples around them flinched. Several stood up with bloodshot eyes, some half-reaching for weapons as if the tournament ring had ceased to exist.

Tang Huo's calm façade cracked, he rose abruptly, eyes narrowing into something dangerous, aura rolling off him in a tight, controlled pressure that made the air feel thick, but inwardly, there was no one celebrating harder than him!

Sha Ren's gaze turned cold enough to freeze a heart. He didn't move yet, but the way he looked at the arena made it clear that if this was real, blood would answer blood.

Across from them, the Hungry Ghost disciples erupted into wild, disbelieving elation.

"We did it?!"

"Senior Bai—!"

"The Twin Monsters are no more, Bai Yegui has surpassed him!"

Gu Mugui's expression, however, didn't show joy. His pale eyes tightened, and his fingers curled slowly in his sleeves, as if he was trying to confirm the truth through sheer will.

On the Desolate Hell side, Yan Moqing's lips parted slightly, and not because she cared about Li Ling, but because if Li Ling could be 'killed' like this, then everything about the sect's future balance would change in a single instant.

On the highest platform, Ming Yue's mild smile vanished, his gaze becoming perfectly neutral, which, for those who understood him, was more terrifying than rage.

The Seven Sins True Inheritors reacted in their own vivid ways, especially Su Meiluo who watched the skewered Li Ling with a faint narrowing of her eyes, as if she were less shocked by the violence and more intrigued by the question behind it.

'Could the man who called himself inevitable… actually fall?'

Down on the arena, Bai Yegui's ten-storey Avatar stood like a ghost god over the ring, spear and shield looming, his posture steady.

The crowd's roar became a chaotic storm, half screaming Li Ling's name in disbelief, half screaming Bai Yegui's in triumph, while everyone waited for the next sign.

And when it came, it silenced all the noise immediately.

"Sheesh, Old Bai, that actually hurts you know?" Li Ling complained with an irritated tone as he simply pulled himself off from the spoke, flexing his body casually.

No blood leaked from his body but the gaping wound that allowed one to even see his organs was present, leaving many to wonder how the hell he was even alive?

"I wanted to test how durable I am so I didn't use the Asura Blood body, but holy shit, it hurts like hell! I am never doing that again!" Li Ling admitted as the wound rapidly closed up as a light of restoration shone over his body, fixing him up to new in seconds.

Meanwhile, Bai Yegui was not shocked by this, his eyes narrowing. "There it is, your absurd Healing Technique. I did a lot of research on it and have not found anything remotely as potent as what you have outside of bloodline abilities for special races."

Li Ling still standing on the shoulder of the Hungry Ghost Avatar, ricked his neck loudly. "Would you believe me if I told you I am the descendant of the Divine Phoenix race? I am currently trapped in the lower world and need you to lend me 1 million high grade spirit stones to book a flight back to my home. Once I get there, I promise to make you one of our top servants!"

Bai Yegui answered by manipulating the 'skin' of the Hungry Ghost Avatar to form tendrils that attacked Li Ling from all directions, and once they pierced into him, Bai Yegui would directly rip him apart to prevent any form of healing or resurrection!

Li Ling saw this and whistled loudly, causing the dormant Asura Reaper Spear to come to life on its own, surging around him like a loose missile and smashing apart each tendril aimed at him while Li Ling tied up his hair, which had gotten loose due to the previous attack.

For a moment, the entire stadium forgot that Bai Yegui was still attacking because the spear… was moving weirdly!

It wasn't trembling with forced spirit sense control, nor jerking like a puppet on strings but rather seemed to flow and anticipate attacks all on its own, like it had some sort of precognition!

The Asura Reaper Spear curved around Li Ling's blind spots and struck tendrils that Li Ling hadn't even bothered to look at yet, like a loyal beast that had learned its master's temperament by heart.

The crowd's murmurs surged into loud disbelief.

"That spear is protecting him on its own!"

"What!! He isn't even controlling it!"

"Is it… fucking alive?!"

Even the middle-layer spectators, who had seen all sorts of weapon control arts, leaned forward with furrowed brows.

"This doesn't seem like Dharma Sense Control, right?"

"Yeah, no… the movement is way too natural."

"Indeed, and it's responding to killing intent directly, how odd!"

On the upper platforms, several sect elders' expressions changed slightly, most staring at the spear longer than they stared at Bai Yegui's Hungry Ghost Avatar, because an autonomous weapon was one thing, but an autonomous weapon that could keep up with this level of battle was another!

Shi Gaolin, still injured, bitter, and forced to watch these monsters distort common sense, found his throat becoming dry as his lips twitched.

Then, for the first time in a while, he spoke without his typical diplomacy, but with the blunt tone of a man stating a truth everyone was missing.

"That is weapon attainment, not any form of control technique from a daoist art." Shi Gaolin revealed, his voice heavy.

Nearby disciples and eliminated competitors blinked then turned toward him.

"Weapon attainment?"

"What exactly are you talking about?"

Shi Gaolin's eyes stayed locked on the spear as it shot out again, shattering a tendril that would have torn out Li Ling's spine.

Shi Gaolin continued with a clenched jaw. "In the mortal world, they talk about Will and Intent. There is Spear Will, Sword Will, and so on, considered by them as the pinnacle of martial mastery."

His gaze sharpened, as if it pained him to explain while the world watched Li Ling shine. "But for cultivators, Will isn't the end, it is just the beginning!"

More disciples leaned in and even some lower elders listened, because the way he spoke made it clear he wasn't guessing.

"In the first realm, Will becomes Heart, like Spear Heart, and the connection to the weapon becomes instinct as thought disappears, and wasted movement disappears with it."

As he spoke, the Asura Reaper Spear swept in a clean arc that looked almost lazy, yet crushed three incoming tendrils in a row like they were viscous jelly.

Shi Gaolin's lips thinned at the sight. "And in the second realm… Heart becomes Manifestation."

Some disciples' eyes widened. "Manifestation… like Sword Qi?"

"Exactly, whether its Saber Qi or Sword Qi or Spear shadows, it is essentially Intent leaving the weapon as a real attack." Shi Gaolin collaborated, his tone turning sour with recognition.

He flexed his fingers unconsciously, remembering his own halberd.

"I'm at the Manifestation Realm myself, and I fight by condensing my yin power into my halberd and projecting it outward. That's why I can cut without always needing to land the blade." Shi Gaolin admitted candidly as he had already been defeated.

His eyes flickered as the spear moved again, this time with a sharp thrust that produced a faint, piercing spear-light that punched through Bai Yegui's tendril and detonated it from within.

"But Li Ling's spear isn't just projecting power, it's moving as if it has its own combat mind." Shi Gaolin added quietly.

The crowd's excitement twisted into a new kind of awe.

"So his weapon is in the Heart Realm…?"

"And his spear has Manifestation too?"

"How far does it go?!"

Shi Gaolin exhaled through his nose.

"If he's showing this much… then it's not just Manifestation, it's the beginning of… Domain!" He stated, voice becoming majestic as he stood up in awe himself.

The word hit like the crowd like thunder.

"A Domain?!"

"Is that the third realm of weapon attainment?"

"Isn't that where one's cognition covers an area and suppresses opponents?!"

Shi Gaolin's eyes narrowed as the air around Li Ling subtly changed, and attacks that should have reached him felt delayed, masked, or intercepted at strange angles, as if the space near him had become hostile to anyone but him.

"That's why it feels like the spear is everywhere. Within his range, his intent isn't just on the spear anymore, it's in the world itself!" Shi Gaolin said, the bitterness in his voice barely hidden.

Above, Bai Yegui's eyes sharpened slightly as well, clearly noticing the same shift, even if he didn't name it.

And down below, Li Ling finally finished tying his hair, not looking hurried in the slightest.

He glanced at the spear as if it were merely doing what it was born to do.

Then he looked up at Bai Yegui with a lazy grin.

"Come on Old Bai, try a little harder! I'm getting bored to death!" Li Ling said lightly, as if they weren't in front of tens of thousands.
