Chapter 446: Where Is The Cup?

BOOOM!!!

A jagged bolt of red lightning tore through the bruised, crimson sky, striking the five-headed dog with the precision of a surgical strike.

GRAAAAAAAA!!!

The beast barely had time to howl. The electrical discharge superheated its flesh instantly; it dropped to the blackened soil, a roasted, smoking carcass of charred muscle and bone.

"You took it down?" Night Ghost was stunned. He looked over his shoulder at the First Commandment, his heart hammering against his ribs.

’The strength of that dog was almost on par with Mythical Summons, and she deleted it with a single skill,’ he thought, a cold sweat breaking out under his mask.

CRACK!!

"Huh?"

The Commandments didn’t wait for a victory lap. In a blur of motion, they leaped into the air, creating a wide berth between themselves and Night Ghost. They landed yards away, instinctively forming a tight, defensive circle.

"Is that what I think it is?" One asked in disbelief.

"Impossible." Another added.

The First Commandment opened her palms. The two scorpions—the ones that had narrowly escaped the massacres in the other regions— burst out from the ground, and landed on her palms.

"Huh? Where is the third?" the Second Commandment asked, her voice sharp with alarm.

"Destroyed... These two are the only ones who survived," the First Commandment answered. her gaze remained emotionless, even as the gravity of their loss settled in.

Night Ghost stayed back, crossing his arms and watching the group. Their backs were turned to him, their hushed whispers barely audible over the volcanic rumbling.

’What are they talking about?’ he wondered, feeling the shift in the air.

"So what’s the plan now?" the Sixth Commandment asked, looking at their leader.

The First Commandment didn’t respond with words. She reached out and grabbed the tails of the two scorpions. Then, she opened her mouth wide. The other Commandments took a reflexive step back. With a sickening crunch, she shoved the first scorpion into her maw and swallowed it whole.

Without a second of hesitation, she raised the second and did the same, consuming the insect. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"Huh?" Night Ghost was dumbfounded. He had seen a lot of dark rituals in his time, but he still couldn’t believe his eyes.

"Now."

The First Commandment raised two fingers from each hand and pressed them together in a complex seal.

"Forbidden skill!! Reanimation!!"

BOOOOM!!!

As the words left her lips, she began to glow with a blinding, nauseating crimson light. From the light, two ethereal souls spiraled outward. Before everyone’s stunned faces, the forms of the Eighth and Tenth Commandments materialized beside her.

"What?!" Night Ghost rushed toward them, his confusion turning into a flash of anger.

"Hey!!! What is this?!! I thought you said they were—"

"—We did," the First Commandment interrupted. She turned to face him, and Night Ghost recoiled. Her eyes were no longer human; they were solid, bleeding orbs of blood-red.

"Huh? Then how?"

"The three we sent to assist your members got killed... But thanks to our special bond, I can resurrect them," she said. She looked away, thick streaks of blood flowing down her cheeks like tears.

"If the enemy can kill three of the Commandments, I don’t think your people will survive this day," she added, her voice chillingly hollow.

Night Ghost gritted his teeth, his fists clenching until his knuckles turned white. He couldn’t just abandon the mission, and even if he wanted to, he couldn’t reach his team to warn them.

"But...."

He raised his head to the suffocating red sky and sighed. "I will put my trust in my members... They won’t die. Not when our mission isn’t achieved."

"What about you? Shouldn’t you be helping them out? Or at least thinking of doing that?" the Second asked, her eyes narrowed at him.

Night Ghost stared at her, then back at the First. "Your eyes. Can you even see like that?"

"It’s the side effect... There is no forbidden skill used by Realm Rulers that doesn’t come with a price, but this is only temporal." she said, turning her back on him and walking toward the dark horizon.

"Realm Rulers?" Night Ghost muttered to himself. He stood frozen as the nine Commandments marched away.

’What does she mean by that? Is that her actual rank?’ The thought sent a shiver down his spine.

’If she is truly a Realm Ruler, I would be a corpse by now... Maybe she isn’t quite there yet, but she’s close. Too close. I must be cautious.’ He placed his hand on his mask, feeling for a specific resonance. After some seconds, he exhaled in relief.

’The Cup is still active... That is good. We still have a chance.’

[The Ghosts’ Headquarters]

The forest that once served as an impenetrable shield for the Ghost Fortress was gone, reduced to splinters and ash. The fortress itself, a bastion that had stood for decades, lay in ruins.

Inside the shattered remains of the Great Hall, a grim tableau played out.

Casey, the daughter of Matilda, stood in the center of the debris. Her gaze was as cold as the void. She held Patricia by the neck, lifting the woman effortlessly into the air with a single hand. Patricia kicked weakly, clawing at Casey’s iron grip.

"Who... Who are you?!" Patricia managed to choke out, staring into the emotionless face of her captor.

Behind Casey stood Precious and Regina, their weapons clean and their auras suffocating.

These were the five elite warriors personally trained by Sunny: Precious, Regina, Casey, Elara, and Olivia. They were not just Summoners; they were refined killing machines.

Executioner watched helplessly. He was on his knees, his body battered and his spirit broken.

’Who are these monsters?! Even my Mythical Dragon was slashed down in one move! How did we offend such beings?!!!’ he thought, his teeth grinding in frustration as he watched Patricia’s face turn purple.

"I will ask again."

Casey’s voice echoed through the ruined hall, carrying a weight that made the remaining stones tremble.

"Where is the Cup?"
