Infinite wealth In A New World-Chapter 64: Kill Him
Chapter 64: Kill Him
"This..."
Ellen finally managed to murmur, her expression a mask of confusion as she turned to Jinx, the only one she truly considered a friend. Jinx’s opinion was paramount.
Jinx met her gaze briefly before shifting her attention to Sunny. "You promise nothing will happen to her?" she asked, a hint of trepidation in her voice.
"Not her... Both of you," Sunny corrected, his words firm.
Jinx exhaled slowly. "Alright then... But you have to see something." She turned back to Ellen, her hand moving to uncover Ellen’s shoulder, revealing a network of stark scars etched onto her collarbone.
".....?!"
Sunny, Josephine, and Star were visibly stunned by the sight.
"Who did this?" Sunny’s voice was low, laced with a chilling killing intent.
"I just need two things from you..." Jinx carefully covered Ellen’s shoulder once more, her eyes locking onto Sunny’s glowing red ones.
"Cut off all their limbs and make them suffer slowly... And for the second, you will help me avenge my family... I don’t know what Ellen wants, but if you accept these things, I will follow you."
A slow smirk spread across Sunny’s lips. "Is that all?" He raised his right hand and snapped his fingers.
WHOOSH!!
"...?!"
The Ogres in the throne hall, who had been momentarily stunned, now looked around in a daze as thirty Grand Class Mercenaries materialized around them.
"Kill the rest, and for those two... You know what to do." With that command, the Mercenaries surged forward, charging towards the Ogres.
"Fight back!!!" The Ogre king roared, his metallic hand whirring to life.
"You all will Die!!" he bellowed.
WHOOSH!
".....?!"
The Ogre king froze, his eyes widening as Sunny suddenly appeared before him, gripping his raised metallic hand.
"Pathetic." Sunny’s voice was a low growl as he effortlessly ripped the metallic hand from the Ogre king’s shoulder.
"....!!?"
"So pathetic," he muttered, tossing the severed metallic hand to the ground.
"Ahhh!!"
"No!!!"
The king spun around, witnessing the merciless efficiency of the mercenaries as they cut down his soldiers. His last commander had already lost both hands. He watched, horrified, as two mercenaries severed the commander’s remaining two legs, bringing him crashing to the ground.
’If I don’t do something, I will die here!’ he thought, and quickly dropped to his knees.
"Great god wolf! Forgive me! Let me go! And the Ogre nation will forget all this!" he pleaded, discreetly reaching for a dagger concealed behind him.
’If I kill this person, I can escape from the others... And with some persuasion, the King will attack the Beast nation,’ he mused, a cunning glint in his eyes.
Sunny raised an eyebrow, privy to the Ogre king’s thoughts, but remained silent, waiting for the inevitable attack.
"Why would I?" he asked, his tone deceptively mild.
"I... I can give you information!" the Ogre king stammered, desperation evident in his voice.
"Information... Okay, go on," Sunny nodded, feigning interest.
"Well... The information is... Die!!" The Ogre king lunged towards Sunny, brandishing a rare-class dagger.
"Watch out!" Star cried out, but before she could move, Josephine stopped her. "Just watch," she advised.
"...Huh?" Star was perplexed.
BAM!!
CLANK!
"....?!"
The Ogre king was stunned, recoiling in shock. His gaze fixed on the broken dagger in his hand.
"How... What... How can your skin break a Rare-class dagger?!" he demanded, looking up at Sunny in disbelief.
Sunny calmly dusted his chest. "Rare-class equipment? To me, they’re just scraps," he muttered dismissively.
"Come here." He stretched forth his hand towards the Ogre. An unseen force seized the Ogre, pulling him inexorably towards Sunny’s hand.
"You know... I wanted to give you a swift, painful death... Just like him." He gestured to the limbless Ogre commander, whose body was crisscrossed with sword cuts. His death had been anything but swift.
The Ogre shivered in terror as he turned to face Sunny.
"I like your hand." Sunny lifted the Ogre into the air with one hand, then placed his left hand on the Ogre’s shoulder. "I will have it."
With a swift pull, he separated the hand from the Ogre’s shoulder.
"AHHHHHHHH!!!!"
The Ogre screamed in agony, his shriek reverberating throughout the castle, sending shivers down the spines of everyone present.
Sunny threw the bloody hand to the ground, then tossed the half-dead Ogre before Jinx and Ellen. "Kill him," he commanded, his gaze serious.
"Me?" Jinx asked, surprised.
"No... Ellen," he answered.
"...?!"
Ellen was stunned.
The only people she had killed were the two guards in the cell, and that had happened when she lost control. But now, she was being asked to kill deliberately.
Noticing her distress, Jinx stepped forward, but a dense amount of Celestial energy forced her backward.
"....?!"
Jinx was flabbergasted.
Sunny walked towards the group and stopped behind the incapacitated Ogre. With a flick of his wrist, a Grand Class dagger appeared in his hand. He held the blade and offered the handle to Ellen.
"I don’t want a weak daughter who’s scared of blood and killing... This world is ruthless, and evil... You must adapt. If you don’t, you’ll only be a prey, and I don’t want prey in my family," he stated, his voice unwavering.
Jinx remained speechless, simply staring at the two, eager to know Ellen’s decision.
After a few tense seconds, Ellen took a hesitant step forward and took the dagger from Sunny’s hand.
"You!! Don’t forget I picked you up! If you kill me! You’ll never know your true family!" the Ogre hissed, his voice weak but laced with a desperate plea.
"My family?" Ellen paused before the Ogre.
"Yes!! You... You want to meet them, right?!" he yelled, clinging to his last hope.
’No matter what, she is just a child, using her family against her will be the only way,’ he thought.
Ellen lowered her gaze to the golden dagger in her hand, then looked up at Sunny, and finally, down at the Ogre.
"How long have I been with you?" she asked, her voice surprisingly calm.
"....?!"
The Ogre was confused by the question.
"Hmm... A year and some months," he replied.
"A year and some months... If I still have a family, shouldn’t they have located me during this duration?"
"...?!"
"Sorry... I don’t have such family," Ellen said, her voice now cold and resolute.
"....?!"
Everyone watched as she raised the dagger and plunged it deep into the Ogre’s forehead, forcing the entire blade inside. Blood spurted out, splattering across her face and body. Ellen released the dagger and stepped back from the Ogre, who collapsed onto the ground, dead.
Sunny pulled the dagger from the Ogre’s skull and walked towards the trembling Ellen.
"You did good." He squatted before her, took her hand, and slowly opened her palm.
"From now onwards, this is yours." He placed the dagger into her palm.
"You are Ellen Draco... Remember that... From now henceforth, you are my daughter."
