I spoke in a serious tone again, "My fourth husband is Lark Cantrell. He is an amazing singer that I met in the entertainment district just like how I met Kayden before. As for his family background, all I know is his father died while giving birth to him and he grew up with his grandparents. As for her mother, she was from a merchant family. She is definitely not a fit mother since she killed her sons and sold Lark away since she only values daughters. As for the specific details such as their names, I am quite sure that you could help me out in filling out those blanks."
The documentation team started rummaging through the stack of papers that was on the desk. It was evident that they were having a more difficult time filling out the documents for husband number four. I did remember that he was not under her mother’s household and was also registered in secret to keep him safe. I am curious as to what information they would be able to find out on their end.
After about five minutes, as if realizing that it will take longer than usual to fill out Lark’s information, the elderly lady called for more staff. As to why more staff is needed, she asked me to continue listing the other husbands while she fills out and validates the information about Lark and his family.
The staff arrived quite quickly with their own stacks of documents as arranged earlier. We then continued registering the information of the next husbands.
Honestly, I do not know much of my husbands since I do not ask of their pasts too much. I always believed that what was important was the present and different people have different circumstances in the past. Dwelling it won’t change bad luck, bad decisions and bad people tripping someone up so what is the point of talking about it.
For my three men whom I all met in Kama during my visit in the entertainment district in Sklavryet, they share the same surname since they were adopted by Kyros into his household. This is a special case since usually, households are led by females and not males in this world. I guess, this was a benefit he got from being a high-ranking member of Noir.
At first, I thought all the men in Kama were adopted by Kyros as his sons which is why he lets them all call him "Father". fter I saw the paperwork that I completed in Sklavryet to marry them, it turns out the paperwork made them seem like brothers. All the men that Kyros took in, gave up their family names since they were forsaken by their original families and willingly took his surname instead.
I told the new members called on by the documentations staff that my next three husbands come from the same place and family. My first one was Kyros Eternadi who is the owner of a pub in Sklavryet and the head of his family. This information surprised the documentation staff since this is indeed a very case of a family led by a patriarch.
As for the other two husbands, I told them that their names are Galen and Arsenti who both worked for Kama as well. I also did not forget to tell them about my little Zen’s existence as my adopted son from Arsenti.
Though in reality, Zen is already my son by blood due to the previous ritual, it is easier to explain it that way since I met Arsenti when he was already in his last trimester. It is impossible for me to become Zen’s mother just by that reason alone. People who have no connection with my marriage with Arsenti do not have to know.
To relieve them of their confusion on the family set up, I gave them a copy of my paperwork from Sklavryet (I kept the original with me). It includes proof of the existence of the Eternadi household as well as the adoption papers of Galen and Arsenti then the business documents of Kama as well. They can copy every information they need from it.
By the time, I was done with explaining my circumstances with the three guys from Sklavryet, the other mini team handling the paperwork about Lark have finally completed it. I did a quick check then it was stamped quickly. I did not have to tell them to continue since they knew that the next marriage were with Aurum Athanoviya, Helios Tilden, Calyx Quillon, Xenos Gale and Yren Zoiran. The palace definitely has all their paperwork.
The elderly lady smiled and nodded and started working again with her two other assistants. The group of staff were busy while I was just speaking and waiting, The others are also quietly waiting while the royals in the room are drinking tea and snacking on cookies though they are obviously listening intently whenever I am talking.
After the mini-team that handled the paperwork for Kyros, Galen, Arsenti and Zen are done, I gave their next and last assignment for the day. Fortunately, there is only three left so I won’t be late for my meeting with the other nosy men in the library.
I gave them details for Claude who I met in Brigen together with the orphanage that we both decided to put under our wing. Claude chose to use the surname of the elderly gentleman that is the head of the orphanage so his household will be under the family name "Valens".
Quintin Amata who was from the Town of Ersha will follow the surname of his mother since he was still under their family registration. I made sure to supplement information about his job which was an adventurer and mercenary as well as his excellent hunter. I also indicated that his father and mother are the current leaders of their town.
Damian Vesta whom I met in Kolyer is the last husband (so far). He decided to use the surname of his father because he and his brothers grew up with him while his mother was an absentee mother most of the time. He will be have his two younger brothers registered under his household with my permission which means that were also under my protection.
After waiting another half an hour, all the paperwork has been double checked by me and stamped as valid. I bid all the people goodbye, promising to come back for a talk since I have a prior appointment at the academe soon which is not a lie at all.
