Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 656 -The first meal as an official part of the duchy (Part 2)

Once they have recovered from my sudden revelation of my origins, I explained that all my human husbands had to undergo a process I coined as deification wherein they will take a specialized medicine made by me to turn them to a demi-mystique. As for the reason that it had to be done, it is for their bodies to become sturdier for childbirth and of course, for them to live long like me and avoid any type of illness.

I told them that I have also deified some of my in-laws after they agreed to undergo the same deification though it would be quite painful. The couple looked at each other and it took one look for them to make a joint decision. If their son and future grandchildren will live longer than humanly possible, they want to be there to see everything with their own eyes even if it means changing their physiques.

With their agreement, I gave each of them a medium sized jar of pills. I advised that they had to take one pill everyday for the next 3 months to complete the deification. I reiterated that it would be painful except for Caius whose change have already started internally after our honeymoon. They both nodded that they understood all the possible side effects and that they are willing to go through with it.

Once I am done explaining, Caius suddenly stood up and went towards the beverage table in one corner of the office. He took a tray and placed three glasses on it. He filled each glass with water from a neraby pitcher then brought it back to the coffee table. He gave a glass of water to each of his parents and kept one for himself.

He opened the cork sealing the pill jar, took one and then downed it with water with no second thoughts. Seeing their son decisively taking the pill, the couple followed suit and then smiled towards my direction.

Once everything’s done, Caius finally asked a question that seemed to be bothering him since earlier. He looked at me and asked, "Are you saying that we can’t have a child until I am deified?"

I looked at him and nodded. He sighed the pouted a bit. I responded, "I know you take pride on your stamina and endurance as a well-trained soldier but it is still not enough to support a mystique child. There is no choice but to wait and prepare your body well for when that time comes."

I heard another heavy sigh from Caius as he murmured, "I have done nothing but wait when it comes to you."

I understood his feelings about it and though I want to deify him faster, my schedule would not allow me to spend more time with him. Ioannis was a special case since we are together everyday and sleep in the same room. It helped in deifying him faster compared to Kayden that I only visit on weekends.

I couldn’t help but wear a helpless smile on my face as I looked at Caius’ direction and then towards my parents-in-law. To break the tension, my father-in-law asked a few questions about my parents and my hometown which I answered honestly though I am not able to tell them exactly where Eieneos is. It was technically in a separate realm from where humans live so it is just impossible to explain unless I bring them there.

I also honestly told them about the existence of my other human husbands. I shared that a few of them have already been safely deified and gave birth to our children. As for the details of the pregnancy and the number of children, I simply smiled and kept quiet about it for now. They would be able to find out eventually when the right time comes.

I gave Caius an earring which he can use to store items and communicate with him. He has seen a similar item before but in the form of a ring so he doesn’t look surprised. This one has and additional protection capability especially that he is in a dangerous line of work. It was a way better version of the ring I lent him back in the northern camps.

Caius openly talked about his original plan of quitting the military to focus on family life and having a child. I looked at him in surprise since I never expected for him to be someone who will easily give up his job for family matters.

He clicked his tongue at me and told me bluntly that he is considered old and he married very late compared to other nobles. He explained in an annoyed manner to me that if he does not put all his time in his marriage, he might not have a child in his lifetime.

Though he hates it, it is the truth. The continuation of their family’s line is up to him being the only son.

He then looked at his parents in annoyance. He then murmured, "Why do you even have only one child? Why did my mother not marry more husbands to ease my burdens."

My mother-in-law stood up then without warning, she slapped the back of Caius head hard. She scowled and said angrily, "Not every woman wants to marry multiple men. You also know how your father almost died giving birth to you. Do you think I will allow him to be pregnant again just because I want more children?!"

Caius looked up at his mother with a frown while rubbing the back of his head. With the sound of that slap, I am sure my mother-in-law used a lot of strength on it. My husband immediately apologized and reasoned that he was just speaking his mind. It was not like he is asking for siblings or for his mother to marry again.

Out of the blue, I couldn’t help but chuckle and ask, "Mother, how many grandchildren do you want to have?"

My sudden question successfully distracted the angry woman and spared my husband from even more beating and scolding. She smiled dotingly towards me and replied, "We can afford as many grandchildren as you can possibly give us. If this boy’s body is as weak as his father’s, I would be happy even if it is just one grandchild as long as both father and child are alive and in good health."

I hummed a response to acknowledge her wishes. After some time, I declared, "One little boy and one little girl should be perfect then. We can have more if the first pregnancy isn’t too difficult. Since you said both sides of the family can afford it, I won’t be shy to have more."

Caius who has been quiet since being slapped on the head hard by his mother suddenly spoke, "Why are you speaking as if it is so easy to give birth?! And, why are you all talking like I am not here and I am not the one who will be pregnant several times?!"
