Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 673 - Wedding Preparations (Part 1)

After the issues concerning Darth and the several meetings regarding the changes that I want to do for the church, the wedding preparations have finally started. I have always let my husbands arrange our weddings in the way they want it and following the customs and traditions from their side of the family since I will always have a chance to do another wedding once I bring them to Eieneos in the future.

The luminous steps down the mountain was a hit to everyone, especially those that are asked to go down the mountain for tasks and missions. They admitted that even if they have went up and down the mountain several times throughout their lives, it does not mean that you won’t fall or get into an accident when you do so.

The meeting hall that we used for the first time for the meet and greet with the church members as well as my meeting with the pope and council of elders will be the main venue of the wedding as expected. Everyone is busy scrubbing every inch of the church clean. The place had started looking like a normal church in modern times once the pews, candles, church ceremonial items and the altar was added in front.

I have not seen Clarence lately since he was the primary person arranging everything. The last time I saw him was yesterday morning during breakfast and during the short meeting we had about what I expect about the wedding venue and the whole ceremony. He shared with me some of the preparations that have to be made but he was quite secretive on the final look and forbade me to go to the main hall until it was time for the wedding.

The only things he told me were the choice of colors based on customs. He said that they will slowly be adding long stretches of plain cloth in the colors of white, different shades of red and purple then some accents in gold. It will be on a more festive side according to him versus the usual solemn one because he doesn’t like the traditional feel of weddings at all. With how they are arranging everything on their end, it really would seem like a grand event since he is indeed holding a high priest position and whether we like it or not, he is the grandson of the current pope so it mostly a matter of reputation.

Honestly, I was expecting for it to follow a more solemn or religious vibe since we really did not invite any outsiders for the ceremony and it was inside a church after all. This is the first time I will be having a ceremony inside one since the nobles and royals much less commoners have a different way of officiating marriages.

Since I do not plan on meddling with the rest of the preparation process and I am not even allowed to go inside the main hall to take a peek at their progress, I realized that I finally had the time to bring some of the paladins and other willing church members to forage and hunt around the forest. A wedding naturally will be followed by a feast so food ingredients would definitely be a necessity.

I also do not like being idle at all and just sitting in my room for a few hours has caused me to feel that constant itching to do something more productive. With this short excursion to the east side of the territory, I could finish mapping some parts of the forest while the church will also be able to get food and other materials that they need. I can protect the members just fine anyways.

I have already buried camouflage barrier stones in the northern side when I went scouring through the mountains. As to why it is camouflaged, it is just that the stones bury deep in the ground when released and then it melds with the ground or take the form of a random rock or stone making it hard to detect. I should start marking the places where I will build the territory wall by burying these things.

Sometimes, I do not understand why I always try to look for something to do. It is not that I hate free time. I like spending it with my loved ones or playing with my babies. Most of the time though, I end up thinking about not just one thing to do but a whole list of it, draining me physically and mentally once all of it was completed. Well, I am a workaholic. There is no doubt about that.

I waited for about half an hour for the paladins and the church members to choose who will be accompanying to the forest today. It was easy with the paladins end since it has already been assigned when I gave them a gheads up earlier. The one that took more time were for the regular members since they look quite scared of whatever is living in the forests.

Surprisingly, there were additional people that decided to accompany my excursion. The leader of the medicine hut group Rafe was in the front of the temple together with the others preparing to depart. I also saw Darth sitting patiently on one side, observing everyone in the open space.

I approached the area where Rafe was standing to have a short conversation. I asked what made him join the group and he said that he wanted to learn about plants straight from me. I guess he is treating this mission as an educational field trip. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

When Darth saw me approach Rafe, he stood up immediately and walked towards us. Once he is only a few steps from me, he greeted me with a smile on his face and a jolly "Good morning, saintess".

These small acts created a myriad of reactions among the people around us. All of them looked very shocked with his friendly gesture. I guess Clarence was saying the truth when he said this man never liked anyone just from how everyone reacted.
