Chapter 160: Pink rabbit

A3 Star

Deep within the forest, the earth trembled.

Towering ancient trees snapped under the force of violent shockwaves. A massive beast—resembling a colossal pangolin—tore through the mist, its scarlet eyes swirling with bloodlust.

Its body was covered in pitch-black scales. Wherever its claws struck, soil and stone exploded outward. The vegetation in its path withered instantly, as though consumed by a corrosive decay.

"ROAR—!"

Its howl sent waves of sound crashing through the canopy, leaves raining down in trembling spirals.

Suddenly, thunderclouds churned overhead. A blinding bolt of lightning slashed downward like a descending azure dragon.

"BOOM—!"

The strike exploded precisely in front of the beast. The scorched earth cracked open.

Through the rising smoke, a slender figure descended—Rory, clad in a fitted black combat suit.

Lightning coiled around her fingertips, instantly condensing into the axe with crackling brilliance. She drove it straight into the beast’s skull.

In the next second, she extracted an orange Rank Six beast core.

"Rory, that was incredible!" Nix ran over to help process the beast’s hide and flesh.

It was the first time he had witnessed her hunt up close.

Precise. Efficient. Ruthless.

She was breathtaking.

"I’ll leave this one to you. I’m heading over there."

Rory dismissed the lightning blade and sprinted toward another Rank Six beast.

With this breakthrough, not only had her abilities grown stronger—her speed had increased as well.

Electricity surged from her body as she vanished like a flash of lightning.

Xarion followed close behind, never straying more than a few steps. As long as there was no real danger, he wouldn’t interfere.

This was her battle.

Water coiled like a serpent around another beast. Lightning crackled within it like slicing blades. In less than a minute, the creature collapsed, lifeless.

Rory had already slain over twenty Rank Six beasts.

She felt no exhaustion. No hesitation.

She could clearly sense it—she was on the verge of breaking through.

Jasper drove several more Rank Six beasts toward her position.

With each hunt, the pale red lightning in her hands deepened—gradually turning silver-white.

Something within her shifted.

Her aura sharpened.

Her features grew more radiant.

Especially her eyes—bright and alive, as if starlight shimmered within them.

"She’s reached Rank Six already! That’s amazing." Nix finished cleaning up the remains and jogged over, eyes shining with excitement.

"Yuel was right. Rory’s talent is extraordinary."

To rise another Rank in such a short time—it was rare beyond measure.

No wonder the Beast God had matched her with powerful Rank Eleven males like Vincent, Xarion, and Paros.

As for how she advanced so quickly, Yuel had long prepared an explanation and subtly planted it within the household.

So now, when Nix and Xarion witnessed her breakthrough, they weren’t overly shocked.

"I saw it," Xarion said quietly.

After cutting down the final beast, Rory finally stopped. She turned toward Jasper, who approached her.

"Jasper, I’ve reached Rank Six."

He smiled and nodded. "I saw it. You’re incredible!"

Rory pulled out a vial and drank a suppression potion.

Her advancement was too rapid. If outsiders learned of it, suspicion would follow. Fortunately, Yuel had already prepared suppression agents for her in advance.

After drinking the suppression potion, Rory’s aura settled. On the surface, she appeared to remain at Rank Five.

Nix ran over, eyes shining with pride. "Rory, you’ve killed so many beasts! You must be tired. Let’s find a place to rest."

Jasper added, "Lola Brandon’s side seems to be wrapping up as well."

Rory nodded. "Call Lola over. Let’s find an open area and camp here tonight."

It was already deep into the night. She had no desire to rush back to the city.

"Great idea!" Nix said enthusiastically.

He pulled up a map of the forest on his communicator and quickly located a scenic clearing near both water and higher ground—ideal for camping.

On Lola Brandon’s side, she had slain both Rank Five and Rank Six beasts.

She had been stuck at Rank Five for two years. Now, she could finally feel the faint stirrings of advancement.

When she and Rory met up at the designated clearing, Lola leaned close and whispered excitedly, "Big sister, I can feel it—I’m close to breaking through. I’d like to stay here for two more days."

She wanted to seize the opportunity and advance to Rank Six.

"I’ll stay with you," Rory said immediately.

It worked out perfectly—Jasper had just mentioned wanting to train here for a couple of days as well.

"I knew you’d say that," Lola said happily. "You’re the best."

That evening, Rory suggested grilling meat.

Jasper handled the roasting for her personally, carefully turning skewers over the flames.

Nix demonstrated techniques to Lola’s three companions, explaining seasoning ratios and heat control with unexpected seriousness.

As for Xarion—seeing that he had nothing to contribute—he calmly retrieved his ice crystal coffin, set it on the ground beside the campsite, and lay down inside without a word.

Not far away, concealed in the shadows of the forest, Aren watched.

His gaze never left Rory.

So this... was his Female Master.

She was exactly as he had prayed for when begging the Beast God for a mate.

Every detail.

Every movement.

Every spark of lightning in her eyes.

He forced down the surge of emotion in his chest and spoke quietly to his subordinate.

"I’m going to approach the Female Master, while you will continue searching for Aris. Do not contact me unless it’s urgent. And under no circumstances are members of the Succubus Clan to know I’ve returned."

"Yes, Master."

Once his subordinate withdrew, Aren took out a small vial and drank its contents without hesitation.

In the next second, the tall, imposing man vanished—in his place appeared a tiny, dreamily pink rabbit, no bigger than a kitten.

He had done his research.

He had heard that his Female Master had recently taken a liking to pink fish.

She adored them.

So she must like soft, pink, adorable creatures.

The transformation potion had been acquired from the Insectoid race.

Each dose lasted three days.

And he had only managed to obtain ten.

Rory was in the middle of eating the grilled meat Jasper had prepared for her when she suddenly felt something soft brush against her calf.

She lowered her head and saw a tiny pink rabbit nuzzling her leg with its little head.

It was no bigger than a kitten, its entire body covered in pale pink fluff—soft, luminous, almost glowing faintly under the firelight.

It was so adorably beautiful that she couldn’t look away.

Rory instinctively reached down and stroked it.

"Where did this little rabbit come from? It’s so cute."

In all her years in the Interstellar world, she had never seen a rabbit this charming. For some reason, the moment she saw it, she felt an immediate affection.

She wanted to keep it.

Rory gently scooped the rabbit up and showed it to Jasper. "Jasper, do you recognize this kind of rabbit?"

It didn’t look like any beastman species.

Jasper examined it carefully. He sensed no trace of ability fluctuation from its body.

"It seems like an ordinary small creature."

Still cautious, Rory carried it over to Xarion. "Xarion, take a look for me. Is this a beastman?"

Last time, Vincent had disguised himself as a coal-black little creature, and because his Rank was higher than Jasper’s, Jasper hadn’t been able to detect him.

But Xarion was Rank Eleven. Surely he wouldn’t miss something like that.

Xarion slowly opened his eyes and placed his hand lightly against the rabbit’s body.

Aren had anticipated this. He had prepared in advance.

Xarion inspected it twice, meticulously. There was no ability fluctuation.

He looked up at Rory. "Female Master, this should be an ordinary small animal."

Hearing that, Rory relaxed. "If it’s just a small animal, then let’s take it back and raise it."

Xarion nodded. "When you grow tired of it, give it to me. I’ll cook it for you."

It looked tender and was probably delicious.

Rory raised a brow at him.

Was that something one says out loud?

Aren swallowed hard.

Rory decided to ignore Xarion’s words. She returned to Jasper’s side, still holding the little rabbit.

"Jasper, I want to bring it home and keep it." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Jasper also found it endearing. He nodded. "When we get back, I’ll build it a nest."

Now that was a proper answer.

Rory beamed.

She hugged the little rabbit close and planted a firm kiss on its soft head.

"Little baby, from now on, you’re with me. Big sister will make sure you eat well and live well."

She planted a kiss on his little head.

Aren’s face flushed faintly.

Even beneath the pink fur, the color deepened slightly.
