Chapter 25: Incredible Jasper

Rory felt as though fortune had finally decided to smile on her. ๐“ฏ๐“ป๐’†๐™š๐’˜๐“ฎ๐™—๐“ท๐’๐“ฟ๐™š๐’.๐™˜๐“ธ๐™ข

All the hardship, the uncertainty, the continuous disappointments she had endured since arriving hereโ€”it felt as if they had finally come to an end. Her chest grew warm, emotions surging so suddenly that her eyes stung. She was so moved she nearly cried.

"Alright," she said softly, her lips curving into a sincere smile. "Iโ€™ll wait for you to come back."

The moment the words left her mouth, her light-brain chimed.

A notification flashed across the interface.

Jasper transferred 100 million star coins.

Jasper transferred 500 million star coins.

Jasper transferred 1 billion star coins.

Rory froze, staring at the cascading alerts as if her vision had malfunctioned.

Jasperโ€™s voice followed, earnest and steady. "Female Master, use these star coins however you like. Buy anything you want. If itโ€™s not enough, Iโ€™ll send more."

He paused only briefly before continuing, his tone unwavering. "When I return, Iโ€™ll place all my assets under your name. Spend freely. Donโ€™t worry about running out. Star coins are the one thing I will never lack."

As the leader of the Interstellar Hunter Alliance, Jasper had accumulated more beast cores, resources, and star coins than nearly anyone else in the empire. If Rory wished it, he could buy out Veridan City entirely and present it to her without blinking.

Inside Roryโ€™s mind, a small, unrestrained voice was screaming in delight.

Ahhhโ€”Beast God, please send me more matches like this!

"Jasper... youโ€™re incredible," she said, genuinely at a loss for words. The sheer flood of star coins left her dazzled, her mind struggling to keep up with reality.

Seeing her happiness reflected through the holo-monitor, Jasper smiled as well. Dax hadnโ€™t liedโ€”females truly did love star coins.

Suddenly, Rory thought of something important. "Jasper, what level are you right now?" she asked.

If his level was high enough, he could arrive in two days as plannedโ€”and perhaps even hunt beasts alongside her.

Jasper answered without hesitation. "Female Master, Iโ€™m currently at the peak of level nine. Once I return, Iโ€™ll advance to level ten."

That single sentence stunned her.

Level nine peakโ€”on the verge of level ten.

Roryโ€™s eyes widened in disbelief. Handsome, wealthy, sincere, and powerful. A partner like this felt unreal, as if she had stumbled into a dream she didnโ€™t dare wake from.

She was so happy she nearly rolled across her bed.

"When you come back," she said brightly, "Iโ€™ll help calm you and stay with you during your advancement."

Her offering those words first struck Jasper deeply. Emotion surged through him, overwhelming in its intensity.

"Thank you, Female Master," he said quietly.

To him, she truly was the best partner he had ever encountered.

Yet a flicker of unease surfaced in his heart.

Does she know my beast form?

He looked at her through the projection, nervousness creeping into his gaze. "Female Master... do you know what my beast form is?"

Rory shook her head. "Not yet."

But she truly didnโ€™t mind. Even if his beast form were fierce or strange, as long as his face was pleasing, she felt that was enough.

Jasper took a deep breath, steeling himself. "Female Master, Iโ€™m a cold-blooded therian. My beast form is the Violet Obsidian. Youโ€”"

"What?"

Rory had been lying comfortably on her bed, but the moment she heard Violet Obsidian, she shot upright as if struck by lightning.

Seeing her sudden reaction, Jasperโ€™s heart clenched painfully.

So she does hate it... doesnโ€™t she?

"Iโ€™m sorry, Female Master, Iโ€”" he began, his voice turning low and careful.

"What are you apologizing for?" Rory interrupted, completely missing the wounded look in his eyes. Her expression was bright with unrestrained excitement. "Jasper, are you really a Violet Obsidian?"

He froze.

"Can you show me your tail?" she asked eagerly.

Rory loved Violet Obsidians.

Before arriving here, she had raised snakes herselfโ€”more than one. Two years ago, she had once glimpsed a massive serpent in the interstellar: a powerful body of deep purple-black, majestic and terrifyingly beautiful. When she researched it later, she learned it was a Violet Obsidian, a cold-blooded therian from the Central Districtโ€™s royal lineage.

Someone like herโ€”an ordinary female with abilitiesโ€”would never normally have the chance to meet one.

Yet she had never forgotten that serpent.

And now, it felt as though the Beast God had delivered one directly into her life.

"Huh?" Jasperโ€™s mind went blank.

Why is she excited?

Isnโ€™t she supposed to be afraid?

Rory blinked at him, her eyes shining with anticipation. "Jasper, please. I really love your kindโ€™s tail."

If she could touch it someday, that would be even better.

Her tone was playful, light, filled with affection rather than fear. There wasnโ€™t even a trace of disgust in her gaze.

Jasper barely remembered how he revealed it. He only knew that once the tail appeared in the projection, Roryโ€™s eyes widened further, her excitement unmistakably genuine.

In a low, hesitant voice, he asked, "Female Master... do you want to touch it?"

"Of course," Rory answered without a secondโ€™s hesitation. "But youโ€™re too far away right now. I canโ€™t reach it."

She smiled brightly. "Thatโ€™s okay. When you come back, Iโ€™ll make sure I touch it as much as I want."

Jasperโ€™s face flushed red instantly.

"O-Okay," he said, voice barely steady. "When I come back, you can touch it as much as you like."

Rory felt, more than ever, that Jasper was different from the others.

"Donโ€™t call me Female Master anymore," she said gently. "Just call me Rory."

With someone as sincere as him, she couldnโ€™t keep the same emotional distance she maintained with Dax or Paros. The closeness felt natural, effortless.

Even though they had only just met, there was no sense of unfamiliarity between them.

He was hers.

From this moment on, all of him belonged to herโ€”and she didnโ€™t need to hold back.

They spoke for a while longer, until someone on Jasperโ€™s side called out to him. Rory urged him to handle it first, and after exchanging a few final words, she ended the callโ€”her heart lighter than it had been in a very long time.
