Chapter 1033: The Big Chase

Hades Mountain and the Skewed Moon Chamber of Commerce!

Mo Wen’s face iced over a little. He was not too surprised that Hades Mountain was involved. They were not easy to deal with since they were one of the heretic forces who could disrupt the balance of the Huatian Palace. They had their own channels and a terrifying background, so they were absolutely not afraid of the Huatian Palace.

He knew that the cultivators above the Primordial Soul realm who kept appearing had definitely traveled using the heretic organization’s route.

But he did not anticipate the participation of the Skewed Moon Chamber of Commerce. This chamber of commerce was a rather famous one in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm, termed one of the three great chambers of commerce. They were on par with the Imperial Treasury and the Thousand Gold Inn. Mo Wen had never had dealings with such chambers of commerce, so he had no grudges or enemies with them. But why would they be an accomplice to this and help the sects from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm infiltrate the main space?

“Perhaps they were driven solely by profit and you’re not a factor in their decisions.”

Mo Wen laughed at himself. Perhaps the Skewed Moon Chamber of Commerce had never even taken a young man like him into consideration and had not considered that they would offend him. Those big sects from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm must have given the Skewed Moon Chamber of Commerce benefits, and so maybe this was nothing more than a business transaction to them.

In a distance, the Ink Scaled King had Chen Tianxiao grasped in one hand like a little chick. He made his way back to the walls of the Intentionless City in just a few steps.

“What should I do with him?” The Ink Scaled King looked to Mo Wen.

“Kill him. He’s no one important, so there’s no point in keeping him,” Mo Wen remarked mildly.

A weird feeling overcame Chen Tianxiao when he heard this. To Mo Wen, the young man, he was just a small figure! And to think he had been bragging not too long ago. The man treated him like a small figure now. This was nothing if not ironic.

“You can’t kill me. I might only be an ordinary elder in the Shattered Cloud Sect, but my grandfather is the Grand Elder of the sect. If you kill me, he’ll definitely not let you off.”

Chen Tianxiao hurriedly revealed his background in hopes of shocking Mo Wen. A sect as huge as the Shattered Cloud Sect had Grand Elders who were above the Supreme Profundity realm. These were people at the apex of the Peng Lai Immortal Realm.

“Would anything change if I don’t kill you? You guys came after me even though I’ve never offended any of you, anyway.”

Mo Wen laughed coldly. He could not care less about a person’s background. Whether he killed them or not made no difference.

Chen Tianxiao fell silent. He suddenly regretted going to the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension. If he had known this would happen earlier, he would never have taken the assignment. The funny thing was that all the other elders had seen this as an opportunity to prove themselves, so they fought each other for a spot here. He had only managed to seize this opportunity because of his grandfather.

“I might have Zhang Poxiao’s inheritance, but he’s only half a teacher to me. We’re not as close you seem to think we are. Your grudges with him actually have nothing to do with me, and I might not necessarily help him to take revenge for whatever happened 600 years ago. And yet, you insist on lumping both of us together. Since you refuse to be kind, don’t blame me for returning the favor,” Mo Wen remarked mildly.

The greatest aim of these sects, aside from eliminating him altogether, was the treasure he had on him. The Sacred Fire Sword was the key to a treasure trove. For a treasure trove to have a sacred treasure as a key meant the stored treasure was on an unimaginably large scale. Back then, the grudges between Zhang Poxiao and these sects had been caused by this treasure trove.

“Aside from me, the Sword Valley and the Sinister Wind Sect had also sent powerhouses over. The Petrification Cult, especially, sent a cultivator who had achieved great attainment of the Tide Changing realm after they suffered in your hands the other time. Haha, all of them are lying in wait near Intentionless City, and you’ll probably be able to find them.”

Right before he was going to die, Chen Tianxiao laughed uproariously. He had been quick to speak out and betray all of the other sects. To begin with, those sects were in direct competition with the Shattering Cloud Sect, so it was only natural that he wanted to see them die horrible deaths and end up as he did.

Mo Wen laughed at his words. These sects were rather interesting, and it seemed like the situation was not as complicated as he had thought.

Gu Jingman walked over with a smile on her face as she said, “All the great sects from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm are scheming against each other. They don’t trust each other, and would go as far as to intentionally harming one another. If this goes on, it’s likely that they won’t stick together, and the pressure on us will lift a little.”

Indeed, if the ten or so sects united to form their own city to take them on, even if Mo Wen had three heads and six arms, he would be unlikely to win against them.

Chen Tianxiao had turned to ashes under the Ink Scaled King’s Qilin Arm. The entire Intentionless City and its surroundings had fallen into a deathly silence. No one in the forest outside dared to stand forward, and it was as if no one was present in the forest.

“What now, Mo Wen?”

Wang Yinru and Pei Fengwu walked up to the city walls together. Both of them were equally beautiful and outstanding, like two beautiful landscapes.

They looked at the Ink Scaled King in surprise because they had never known that an ally this strong was on their side. Just how strong was this senior’s cultivation? How could he crush a Tide Changing realm cultivator like it was nothing? Was he a being at the Supreme Profundity realm like what the legends had described?

“What else can we do? Of course, we’ll have to deal with all of the cultivators who infiltrated the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension.”

There was a cold glint to Mo Wen’s eyes. Since the Ink Scaled King had been exposed, he might as well go all out and kill every single one of the infiltrators in the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension. This would teach the big sects of the Peng Lai Immortal Realm an unforgettable lesson.

“Haha, wipe them all out, you say? Leave it to me. Hm, there are several auras in the forest that don’t seem all that weak. I detected a few of them before, though they seemed to have gone into hiding after. Did they really think they could escape me?”

The Ink Scaled King laughed coldly. He was a person who had lived more than a hundred thousand years, and a lot of cultivators at the Supreme Profundity realm were not as experienced as he was.

“I’ll leave the cultivators who are at or above the Tide Changing realm to you. As for the rest, leave them to Gu Jingman and me.”

There had been quite a number of monks who had infiltrated the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension this time—a rough estimate of a least 200 people. Although a large number of them were martial arts powerhouses, they had really strong auras coming off of them, so the Ink Scaled King was the only one who could deal with them.

“Alright then, let’s divide and conquer. There’s still a cultivator who has the great attainment of the Tide Changing realm. He’s probably the cultivator from the Petrification Cult that Chen Tianxiao had mentioned.”

The Ink Scaled King laughed oddly before he morphed into a beam of black light, disappearing from the city walls.

Mo Wen looked toward Gu Jingman. He thought for a while, then said, “Maybe I should go alone. They’re just a bunch of lesser cultivators and it won’t take too much work.”

“What, are you looking down on me now?” Gu Jingman huffed.

Although she knew Mo Wen was worried that she might run into an accident, she did not wish to be belittled like that. She had been able to defend the Ming Palace for over a year without Mo Wen, and no one had dared to look down on her.

“Call for help immediately if you run into an enemy you can’t handle, remember this.”

As he watched her disappear after morphing into a beam of light, Mo Wen could do nothing but laugh bitterly. This Gu Jingman was just too tough.

“Sister Fengwu, we should move out to the perimeter to kill those martial arts practitioners from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm as well. They’ve been bullying us for more than a year. I’ll explode if I have to hold this grudge in a second longer.” Wang Yinru huffed as she looked at Pei Fengwu.

“I feel the same, but I worry that we might be left to die once we run into danger. That would be really dangerous for us. After all, those martial arts practitioners from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm are really strong, so it’ll be difficult for us to deal with even one of them,” Pei Fengwu said with a heavy sigh. What a pathetic sight that would make.

“That’s true. We’re not like Gu Jingman who has someone looking after her,” Wang Yinru lamented when she heard that.

Mo Wen almost spat out blood when he heard this. This was no time to be messing with him like that.

“The two of you are in charge of guarding the city gate. Do not go out. We will not tolerate any losses. This arduous task will be left to the both of you now,” Mo Wen said after he cleared his throat.

There was no way he could let Wang Yinru and Pei Fengwu join the fray. The martial arts practitioners from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm who were now outside were, at the very least, martial arts grandmasters, and there was a whole bunch of them who were Infinite Powerhouses. With their powers, sending both of them out to battle would be sending them to their deaths.

But this was not something he could outrightly say. All the women here were very headstrong. He would not be fretting as much if they were as obedient as Su Wan’er.

At the same time, Wang Yinru and Pei Fengwu rolled their eyes at Mo Wen and then said no more. Honestly, both of them knew that they would be of little help even if they went out.

Mo Wen chuckled coldly as he took step after step into the forest outside the Intentionless City. With his Deified Soul Power that was on the level of the Supreme Profundity Realm, no one could escape his hunt.

In the distance, the Ink Scaled King had already been engaged with a few cultivators at the Tide Changing Realm, of which included someone who had the great attainment of the realm. It was almost as if they knew that Mo Wen would take them out one by one if they did not band together. As such, the sects of the Peng Lai Immortal Realm were unusually united at this moment.

However, the Ink Scaled King was exceptionally formidable, and he might not necessarily lose even if he were going head to head with a cultivator at the Supreme Profundity Realm. Even if one of them had great attainment of the Tide Changing Realm, a measly four or five cultivators at the Tide Changing Realm were no match for him. The match had been one-sided from the very beginning.

“D*mn it, Mo Wen’s coming over. This forest is too small, there’s no way we’ll be able to hide.”

“It’s too late for us to escape from the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension even if we want to now. This is terrible! How did things end up this way?”

“The audacity of that d*mned Chen Tianxiao to betray us. If I make it out of here alive, I’m going to take it up with the Shattered Cloud Sect.”

In the forest, bouts of angry curses kept ringing out. Horror and panic were written all over everyone’s faces.

However, the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension remained an independent space. Only those who came through a space passageway could escape from the place. There was not much time for them to escape.

On the other hand, it was the cultivators at the Tide Changing Realm who could directly destroy the space barriers to escape from this place. But if they broke a part of the space, they might be met with a void. Barging straight into a void would mean they would immediately be ground to dust by a space storm and die in a shorter amount of time.

Even the cultivators at the Tide Changing Realm could not afford to hastily go into the cracks in space. Once they barged in, they would definitely die.

Escaping from the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension often required a special space node. This is because various parts of dimensions were connected to space nodes of the main space or of other mystery dimensions. These nodes were the only way to escape safely. But they were in a rush now, and these space nodes were not easy to locate. That was only possible if one was really, really familiar with the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension.

Otherwise, without a stable space node, there was no way for the Tide Changing Realm cultivators to escape.

“We meet again, Lord Merciless. I wonder what you think about running into me again.”

Mo Wen stepped out slowly from the forest. Right across him, the group of people from the Blood Evil Temple had been rushing to flee.
