Invincible Snake Emperor-Chapter 153 - 151: Powerless to Turn the Tide
The current situation was far from favorable for Dr. Snake. The Vampire Snake's growth had been unexpectedly rapid; fed on human flesh, it was far stronger than he had anticipated.
He had intended to use his Silver Needles to seal the Vampire Snake's pressure points and subdue it easily—just as he had done before.
But the Vampire Snake now boasted a massive, twenty-meter-long body, its scales as hard as iron. He couldn't find an opening, and even if he could, his needles wouldn't be able to pierce its hide.
A thick, massive tail swept toward him with overwhelming force. It slammed into the ground, causing a violent tremor. Fortunately, the cage had been specially constructed to imprison the Vampire Snake and was incredibly sturdy.
Otherwise, it would have collapsed long ago.
"Haha, Master, you've lost your touch. You should just run away. I'd rather not have the crime of killing my own master on my conscience," Jiang Xingze taunted, gloating as Chen Mo could only parry the Vampire Snake's attacks.
"Master, you've spent your whole life practicing Snake Control. If you end up getting eaten by a Snake, wouldn't that be a pathetic end? A disgrace to your great name?"
Chen Mo desperately dodged the whipping tail, knowing he couldn't let it coil around him, or he'd never break free. Hearing Jiang Xingze's words, his face turned livid. A vein bulged on his forehead, and the muscles around his temples twitched uncontrollably.
"How did I ever teach a monstrous apprentice like you?!"
He let out a furious roar as a snake tail whistled through the air. Chen Mo's expression changed drastically. With no time to dodge, he threw his arms up to block. He was slammed against the wall, his insides churning violently. Kneeling, he spat out a mouthful of blood.
'When you can no longer control a snake, you must be prepared for it to turn on you.'
This was especially true for a Giant Snake of this size—its body was like iron, tough and resilient, giving him no easy way to strike.
Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, he looked up at the cold glint of the iron door. If Chen Mo wanted to escape, he still could.
But he couldn't. He absolutely could not let Jiang Xingze leave with the Vampire Snake.
That would be like unleashing a tiger into the mountains—a disaster for everyone.
Even here, right under his nose at Shanye Group, Jiang Xingze had let the Vampire Snake devour people. If they got out, he would be even more unscrupulous, completely lawless.
If that happened, he, Chen Mo, would be a sinner for all time. There was no telling how many people would die at the Vampire Snake's fangs.
The sound of footsteps echoed from beyond the iron door. Someone was coming. Instead of relief, Chen Mo felt a surge of panic.
This twenty-meter-long Vampire Snake was not something ordinary people could handle. Anyone who came would just be marching to their death.
"Stay back! Don't come in!"
In a desperate frenzy, Chen Mo roared and charged toward the iron door. He had to shut it, to keep them from getting in—and to keep the snake from getting out.
WHOOSH...
The air itself seemed to shudder. An overwhelming force struck, and Chen Mo was sent flying. He crashed to the ground, coughing up several mouthfuls of blood.
At that moment, he knew. He truly couldn't defeat this Mutated Bloodsucker Snake.
His Snake Control techniques were useless against it.
"Master, if people want to come in, just let them. They can fight alongside you,"
Jiang Xingze said mockingly, a smirk on his face. He didn't care at all about anyone coming in. At the same time, however, he kept his distance from Chen Mo, hiding behind the Vampire Snake. After all, a starved camel is still bigger than a horse.
"Don't come in! Stay out!"
Chen Mo had no time to waste being angry with Jiang Xingze. In the next instant, five or six security guards rushed in. Seeing Chen Mo on the ground, his mouth covered in blood, they cried out in alarm, "Dr. Snake, what happened to you?"
"Get out, quickly! It's dangerous!"
"ROAR..."
A horrifying, sinister hiss shook the room. The Vampire Snake's bell-sized, serpentine eyes glinted with greed. Its tail whipped out, instantly encircling the five or six guards.
The sudden appearance of a twenty-meter Giant Snake looming over them stunned the guards. Their hearts sank as if filled with cold lead.
For a moment, they were too terrified even to scream for help.
"Vampire Snake, your fight is with me! Don't slaughter the innocent!"
Chen Mo struggled to his feet and flung three or four Silver Needles straight at the Vampire Snake's eyes.
The snake's eyes were likely its only weakness; its defenses elsewhere were too strong.
The Vampire Snake was vicious and cunning. With a sway of its Snake Head, it dodged the attack, and the Silver Needles hit nothing but air.
"You humans all deserve to die. You are all my food."
The sinister, raspy voice emanated from the Vampire Snake's bloody maw, filled with cold-blooded Killing Intent.
"Oh god! Dr. Snake, help us—"
That cry for help was the last sound they would ever make. Under that bloody maw, how could anyone survive?
Chen Mo's eyes were bloodshot. The brutal scene of the Snake devouring the men filled him with uncontrollable Fury. His Qi surged forth, making his clothes rustle. A deep-seated regret washed over him. 'I never should have tried to cultivate some peerless Snake Species.'
"Haha... Vampire Snake, eat up! When you're full, my master will be waiting for his turn. Then you'll have had your revenge!"
Jiang Xingze's face was a mask of loathsome glee. The gruesome sight of the Snake devouring people only excited him more.
He no longer considered himself human. What did the lives of those being eaten have to do with him?
"You monster!"
Chen Mo gritted his teeth, his Killing Intent erupting like a hurricane. This was his chance. The Vampire Snake was busy eating, and had forgotten all about Jiang Xingze.
"You monster! I'll take your life first!"
SHHH...
In the dim cage, a faint glint of light flashed. A Silver Needle suddenly embedded itself in Jiang Xingze's left eye.
It was as fast as lightning, impossible to perceive.
"Aaargh! My eye!"
The smile on Jiang Xingze's face froze, then contorted into a howl of agony.
Chen Mo's figure flickered like a phantom, appearing directly in front of Jiang Xingze. He spoke, his voice laced with grief and fury, "These hands of mine have only ever saved people, never killed. I never thought the first person I'd have to kill would be my own apprentice. But you deserve to be killed. You deserve to die!"
He raised his palm high, gathering an incomparable force, and brought it down on the head of the screaming Jiang Xingze.
The Vampire Snake was too terrifying. Chen Mo knew he couldn't defeat it, so he had to kill this beast of an apprentice first.
"Vampire Snake, save me!"
Jiang Xingze was now blind in his left eye, blood streaming down his face. Seeing Chen Mo's palm, filled with raging Fury, descending upon him, he was scared out of his wits.
In a flash, a long, thick snake tail swept over without a sound. It instantly wrapped around Chen Mo's legs, yanking him up and tossing him into the air.
The palm strike missed Jiang Xingze by a hair's breadth.
"Vampire Snake, kill him! Swallow him in one bite!"
Jiang Xingze shrieked, his face a ferocious, blood-soaked mask of perverse violence.
Thrown into the air, Chen Mo was like a lamb to the slaughter. A bloody maw, reeking of iron, lunged up for the Devouring.
Chen Mo twisted his body desperately, but in mid-air, he had no leverage. There was no escaping his doom.
His only choice was a desperate, final struggle.
Three more Silver Needles appeared in Chen Mo's hand. With all his might, he hurled them into the gaping maw.
In an instant, the three Silver Needles vanished deep into the snake's throat. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
ANGG...
The Vampire Snake let out a pained roar. It had been about to swallow Chen Mo whole, but before it could, it snapped its bloody maw shut in agony.
CRUNCH...
As its mouth closed, its pale white fangs bit down on Chen Mo's legs. With a shake of its Snake Head, Chen Mo's legs were completely severed. He was thrown aside, a mangled, bleeding wreck.
At the same time, a large number of fully armed personnel poured in through the iron door. The commotion in the cage had finally attracted attention.
"Vampire Snake, playtime's over. We're leaving!"
Blind in one eye and bleeding profusely, Jiang Xingze was in no mood to play around anymore. He needed to find a place to treat his wound.
Besides, seeing his master Chen Mo's legs get bitten off by the Vampire Snake, he figured the old man wouldn't live much longer anyway.
On top of that, a large number of armed personnel had rushed in. The situation was exposed. If they didn't leave now, things could get complicated.
Jiang Xingze leaped onto the Vampire Snake's back and roared ferociously, "Break out!"
The Vampire Snake roared at the sky, its terrifying presence overwhelming, and charged straight for the iron door.
"Oh my god... a python! A Giant Snake! Everyone, scatter!"
Few people knew of the Vampire Snake's existence. The armed personnel who had just rushed in saw the twenty-meter, incredibly vicious Giant Snake and scattered in terror, not daring to block its path.
"Don't let the Snake escape Shanye Group!"
From a corner, Chen Mo, his face deathly pale, watched. His lower body was a mangled mess—everything below his thighs was gone, and blood was gushing out.
He hastily used a few Silver Needles to barely seal his pressure points, staunching the bleeding. With his last ounce of strength, he let out a roar before falling unconscious.
It was impossible to tell if he was dead or alive.
The great Dr. Snake, a Human Awakened, was no match for the Vampire Snake. What chance did these newcomers have? It was a miracle they hadn't already pissed themselves in terror.
Only true military forces, with heavy firepower, could possibly suppress this Snake.
But it was all in vain. As things stood, no one could stop this Snake from leaving so brazenly.
