Isekai Adventure in the Dimensional Cube-Chapter 1502 - 1052: Reiger’s True Purpose
Beluti was indeed grateful to Reiger.
Because she knew very well that from Reiger’s perspective, the request for a meeting was not only abrupt but also unreasonable.
It must be noted that Reiger was Source World’s savior, returning after eleven thousand years, the Master of the Holy Sword, whose noble and unique status was not one to easily entertain such casual meeting requests.
Not to mention, concerning Reiger’s previous encounters, he had been attacked by Abyss followers more than once.
Knowing that Abyss followers were lurking, with other major forces, nations, and races trying to get close to him, attempting to win him over and curry favor, allowing Reiger to venture alone, without any guards, to such a deserted area far from the guard zone where no one would come to rescue him in case of trouble was extremely risky; Beluti would definitely be suspected of trying to seduce and harm Reiger.
In Reiger’s position, he absolutely had no need to agree to such potentially dangerous meetings and head out to the wild at such a late hour.
Yet, aware of the risks, and unreasonable nature, Reiger still accepted Beluti’s meeting request and adhered to the agreement, arriving there alone.
Just from this, Beluti had ample reason to feel grateful.
Of course...
"I personally don’t mind."
Reiger, who never considered needing protection or saw going out alone at night as an extremely dangerous activity, merely shook his head in response to Beluti’s bow of gratitude.
"It’s you, coming alone to such a place, that seems much more dangerous, right?"
Though this forest rarely had monsters or wild beasts, "rarely" didn’t mean "never."
Moreover, this place isn’t very far from the guard zone, and with a natural barrier, if someone with ill intentions wanted to do something to the Karedohart Empire’s guard zone, arranging people to secretly hide here and monitor its actions would likely be a widely considered tactic.
In such circumstances, a young girl without strength even to truss a chicken entered this forest, and even ventured deeply to the position beneath the great wall; isn’t this dangerous?
Especially when this defenseless young girl was the compassionate saint, leaving unbelievable legends in every place, with broad connections, extremely beautiful and pure like Beluti Lawon; one could imagine how dangerous it was for her to come alone at night here.
If Reiger dared to do so purely because of his skills, Beluti did so completely out of innocence and lack of judgment.
If it were another girl, some regretful event might have already occurred.
Yet Beluti still had an ever-radiant smile on her face.
"I’m quite accustomed to night roaming," she said: "Moreover, everyone in the wild is really nice to me and won’t hurt me."
This statement made Reiger recall one of the legends about this young girl.
"Are there really monsters that wouldn’t hurt you, even wicked bandits would let you go?"
Reiger asked curiously.
"Yes." Beluti nodded, stating with pure innocence: "So, everyone is a good person."
Reiger’s eyes suddenly narrowed.
Suddenly, Reiger stretched out his hand, pinched Beluti’s chin gently lifting her face.
"In any world, it’s impossible for everyone to be good people." Reiger drew closer to Beluti, his somewhat flippant gesture smilingly remarked: "Like me, I’m not a good person."
"Don’t you know how hazardous you are to men?"
"Here is a deserted location, and even if I did whatever I wanted to you, no one would find out, right?"
Beluti was momentarily startled by Reiger’s words.
Staring at Reiger’s seemingly extremely close face and his mysterious, cosmic starry eyes peering into hers, Beluti, instead of panicking due to Reiger’s now improper actions and malicious seeming remarks, smiled once more.
"You are not that type of person."
Beluti stated with great certainty.
"...Why so sure?"
Reiger continued gazing at Beluti.
And to this, Beluti responded.
"You may have heard I have the ability to foresee disasters?" Beluti candidly said: "If meeting with you here would have brought misfortune, I would have ’seen’ that scene."
"Since, for me, that would be the greatest disaster."
Upon hearing Beluti say this, Reiger was enlightened.
"So, that’s why?" Reiger laughed: "I finally understand why you have traveled safely till now."
As Reiger stated before, in any world, it’s impossible for everyone to be universally good.
Thus, Reiger absolutely doesn’t believe that Beluti has only encountered unharmful good people till now.
Monsters are merely powerful beasts, and attacking humans is their nature and instinct; it’s impossible for them to suddenly develop an unexplainable fondness for a human saint and thus abandon the urgency to attack her.
