[OP: ]

Even if she could see the light threads attached to the training cubes, the locations that they were leading to was not simply some certain place. Eon's room that his master had hidden away was present somewhere else entirely.

She did not know where it was and she did not really understand how to interpret the signals she was seeing through the cubes.

Since she did not want Eon's help with anything related to this, she knew there was not much that she could do by herself, so, she asked around the little artificial helpers to help her.

"You're sure about this, right?"

-Beep!

The small machine resembling a floating teacup nodded with green lights lightning up around it. She liked this one among the many other similar artificial devices that were present around her right now.

"Hmmm. This better work then."

She had gathered a bunch of these artificial helpers from various floors for help and had gathered data according to their instructions.

From what they found out, the cubes were apparently a puzzle-like artifact that did something different independently and when used together with one another, it produced something else.

She needed to do that– combine all twelve of the cubes and from the resulting ray-thread, she should be able to figure out where she needed to go at that certain moment.

"To hell with this precision! Haaaa." Since the location of the room was not fixed as she had learned until now, she needed that fixed coordinates but for that, she would have to work faster.

She had been trying different things out since the last two days and it had taken a lot of time and efforts, a lot of trials and errors just to understand how this was going to play out.

She was ready now, and the artificial helpers that were with her also reassured her that this was the right plan according to them. Now, all that was left was to combine the cubes, and to do that, she was back to the room of magical elements on the first floor.

Here, she was standing before not any element but before a certain artifact that took up an entire room by itself.

"Huuuu." The artifact before her was large enough to actually take up the entire room. It was a complicated artifact that she needed a good amount of help just to operate.

The artificial helpers around her were going to help her run this complicated artifact that could fuse anything without going through complicated procedures.

It was a special artifact that Eon's master used to fuse different elements together. It was so powerful that it could fuse any of the elements.

These cubes, which did not get affected by any other artefact or magic or weapon until now, should come together with the help of this one artifact.

"Haaaa."

She had asked Zoe if this was fine or not, and while she did not know if this was the answer or not, she knew doing this was not going to damage these cubes.

If the artifact could not fuse them after a thorough examination, the artifact would reject the input itself, and once it starts, it is going to end up with the end results. Whatever the results might be, the artifact would also protect the people that were inside the room, operating the artifact.

It was pretty much like a relic since it could do something as absurd as fusing to distinct elements. But to Eon and his master, this complicated thing used to be a simple toy.

And now that she had the hold of this toy…

"Alright then. Let's start." she was at least determined to see this one project through.

Thankfully, there were more than one set of these cubes. But even Eon did not know where the other set was. He had looked around the house, he had looked through the information his master left, and the only clue to the next pair was a riddle that they had yet to solve.

Thankfully, they were not going to need this riddle anytime soon.

-Blink!

-Bing! Bing!

-Ding! Ding! Ding!

The artificial helpers scattered around the place, they took up the needed areas and connected with the artifact's operations mechanism.

Starting the main power supply, they turned the artifact on, blasting the whole place with light and filling up the room with a strange hum of vibrations.

"Wow…"

Rein was not expecting something like this. She knew the artifact was unique and different from the usual artifacts, but there was something about it that made it different from the usual artifacts as big as this one.

It seemed like the energy that it was consuming just to stay on was much greater than the energy that was usually consumed by the artifacts of the same volume. Also, her eyes did not see this artifact as anything more than what it already was, hinting at how this was the only form of this artifact, the perfection that could not be improved any further.

"They didn't say it was a masterpiece, alright." She was stunned for a moment, but then she felt something pulling her shoulder sleeves from the side. Find exclusive stories on novelbuddy

-Beep!

The teacup helper was floating before her, asking her to act quickly and put the cubes inside the compartment that had just opened up.

"Oh, right." she remembered what she needed to do and forgetting what she had been thinking about, she proceeded with the process.

"Here." placing the cubes in a small compartment that had opened up right in front of her, a place glowing in blue, she took a step back with her little helper.

[Ding!]

The artifact recognised whatever was put inside of it and acted quickly, showing all kinds of data values and properties of the objects that she had placed inside of it.

[Analysis complete. Fusion possible.]

The artifact now asked for her permission to proceed further with the process. Only after it receives her permission would the process start so she should have pressed the button immediately.

However, she did not do that. Instead, she thought about this for a moment more, looked around her and saw all the various parts of the artifact that were operating right now, thought about the end goal, the big treasure that she had been after for so long, and only after she confirmed the value of this ambition, she proceeded with the [Yes] option.

[Material synthesis process initiated!]

[Ding!]

[Material synthesis process has concluded. Preparing the end product in the most suitable form.]

It took the artifact more than a few minutes to finish up the entire process which might have taken any skilled creator who could work on them much longer.

It was pretty fact so she did not think much about the end product, however the product that came out from the other side of the artifact, which was on the side as where she had submitted the cubes.

"Has this artifact done this before? Why did it turn the cubes into a key?"

She could not understand why the cubes had suddenly turned into a key but this must be a sign. There must be some meaning behind this, perhaps she was going on the right track, or perhaps that was not the case.

"Why would this turn into a key when Eon has never found it?" She could not understand the reason behind this phenomenon, but she knew she had found the key.

And this key was directly connecting something.

"Let's follow this for now."

She could see a thread of distinct color attached to this key. The key, made from crystals of various colors, was shaped in a way that made it seem a little different and a little simple at the same time.

The key did not have any special effects. It was simply a key shaped precious stone of different colors. They were made from the crystal cubes so there was a light string connecting this to something as well, and unlike the other strings, this one was much clearer and unbroken.

-Beep!

Rein followed the string and reached the higher floors. She thought the place would be in some of the floors that she had already been to, but there was a certain floor that they had not visited previously and Eon did not want anyone to go there either.

"But I have to go there, no?"

The string was showing them where they needed to go. Even in the lift, the string had passed through the number of floors that they needed to be in.

Right now, they were on the 44th floor, the floor that Eon called [Human comedy]. It was one of the worst floors present in the entire tower.

-Beep!

"It's too late, little one."

Eon did not want her to see this place for long since there were all kinds of negative things present here.

The meaninglessness of the world was portrayed in the elements of this floor. If one looked closely, they would find many things much different here compared to the other side.

She did not like the vibe of this place.

But, this was also where her darling's room which she had been searching all this time for, was located.

"Anyway…"

She was going to find that room.

Even though there were all kinds of sickening things in this room, even though there were all kinds of crazy things in this place, and even though she wanted to get out of here, she was going to finish this task.

She was stubborn as well.

She was going to stick to this place until she finds her grand treasure…
