Island God: Going From Level 1 To World Ruler-Chapter 101: Third Breath
’H-huh!? Again!?’ Midas thought, utterly shocked.
His body quickly began to squirm with changes once again as stats began to pop up before him.
His body suddenly released a blast of smoke as heat flew out of him. He was red-hot from head to toe, feeling as though he himself was in a sauna.
Glancing down at his arms, Midas gasped with shock and confusion.
’W-what the hell!?’ His eyebrows furrowed with absurdity. His blood... looking to be boiling!
There was no pain, but Midas was almost sure of it. As beads of sweat poured down his face, he looked down with horror as he saw his blood bubbling under his skin.
His entire body began squirming like large ants crawled inside.
He looked forward with confusion, not understanding what was going on, and quite scared to be frank.
Just then, a cold gust flew in from behind him and crashed against his back.
He felt like he had an out-of-body experience, able to somehow perceive something behind him.
No... something was definitely behind him. It was a hammer. A massive one, used for smithing. However, it looked to have been directly cut out of a large block of ice.
It excluded a terrifying and massive freezing aura, one that was smoky and existed in multiple shades of blue.
The hammer was no smaller than a hill. It rose abruptly as if to swing down. As it rose, its size increased. By the top, it rivaled the size of a mountain.
Midas couldn’t believe what he was seeing behind his back.
The hammer swung down with a loud clang. Midas felt a powerful vibration tear through his entire body and ripple. The vibrations slightly burned his fingertips as they traveled through his body.
But in the end, there was no pain. Instead, he felt his blood cool back down to its normal temperature.
Above that, his entire body felt fortified, like steel.
[Your blood has been forged stronger. It is denser and carries much more energy and oxygen. Your strength will increase by forty percent.]
[Your heart has made contact. It has been overwhelmed, and now forcefully develops stronger. Your stamina has increased by one hundred percent.]
[Your blood is now richer in rejuvenating essence. Your vitality increases by sixty percent.]
[Your blood is now more efficient. Your bones mend much faster. Injured tissue will regenerate at an accelerated pace. Your overall recovery rate has increased by three hundred percent.]
[Your battle instinct climbs. Your killing intent does not contain itself automatically. It begins to leak.]
[You can now control your killing intent.]
[You can now control the pace of your heartbeat, and are manually able to slow or hasten it.]
’Oh... my god. Did I just break through into the third breath back-to-back following the second breath? What in the world is going on...’ Midas was in shock.
The status boosts he got were amazing, but the fact that he had just breathed the third breath was almost unbelievable.
’System, open my stats.’

’A-amazing!’ Midas thought, seeing the boosts in his stats. ’If I do the math, my stats rival those of someone who is at around level 35 or so. That’s if the stats are evenly placed, that is.’
"How amusing." Dorian’s low voice sounded from the distance.
Midas immediately closed his status menu, dropping down to the floor.
"Dorian?" He muttered, slightly confused. He didn’t see a figure before him.
Just then, Dorian stepped out of hiding and revealed himself from around the tree.
"From the first breath all the way to the third, huh?" Dorian said, walking forward calmly. "It seems you are gifted, Stars."
"Well... it seems so. But I still don’t have a clue how I broke through twice in a row." Midas said, still strung up on that part.
"Hmm..." Dorian narrowed his eyelids, seemingly scanning Midas up and down. "More than that, how did you break through the second breath to begin with? Such a feat requires a very rare form of thinking. A form of thinking developed after years of experience." He asked, curious.
"I... used your words to help me," Midas said, willing to say the truth. There was no point in hiding it.
"What?" Dorian replied, seemingly clueless about what the boy was saying.
"Your answer to what would be the fastest path to supremacy in the world. In it, I found that each sentence was a guide to unlocking the next breath. I’m sure you planned for this, but you may not have expected me to figure it out. I’m surprised I put the dots together myself." Midas answered in a humble tone.
Dorian’s eyelids widened with surprise for a split second.
’W-what!? Did I accidentally spoil the way to cultivate this technique? Hmm... I guess it can’t be helped. After all, the path to supremacy and the path to mastering this breathing technique are pretty much one and the same. To attain either one, one must be willing to rise above all difficulties.’ He thought to himself. ’But still... the fact that Midas figured that out is amazing on its own. One would have to be thinking and trying countless possible ways to succeed before finally figuring out that my words correlated with the technique. It just goes to show how passionate Midas was with succeeding... maybe even obsessed, rather.’
"Well, I’ll tell you how you broke through," Dorian replied, capturing Midas’s attention.
"You peered into your own soul and realized that nothing else in the material world exists. It only exists to bind one here."
Midas nodded, already informed of this knowledge through his own experience.
"To do this... is the requirement of breaking through the third breath. In other words, you skipped having to master the second breath entirely." Dorian said as Midas looked more shocked. "Usually, this would be impossible. This is because mastering the third breath is pretty much just as hard as any other of the breaths, including the seventh or even the eighth. The ninth is arguable. Still, the third breath is the only one that requires one to somehow reach so deep within their consciousness that they reach their own soul. If anyone could do it so easily, even a beginner could immediately skip to the third breath. You did this with ease, but many fail to ever do it. Only with the exact directions from the technique should it be possible." Dorian explained.
