Island God: Going From Level 1 To World Ruler-Chapter 95: Overwhelming Spirit
"I see... what type of foolish god thought that I would lose to a damn troll?" Dorhal said nonchalantly, seeming unbothered.
Uranus grinned, raising his right hand in front of his face.
Out of nowhere, a blade made of dark purple energy was summoned within the palm of his hand.
He gripped the handle of the blade. It was a cutlass, the edges dark and the center bright!
Dorhal threw Bobo’s head in the air before slashing it in half on its way down.
"Come!" He shouted, his eyes intensely wide.
Uranus lunged forward, covering the distance in a single leap.
He appeared in front of Dorhal’s face, dwarfing him in size like an adult standing next to a small kid.
The two swung their weapon’s forward in a direct clash. As soon as the two blades made contact, Uranus was pushed back as though his blade struck a brick of titanium.
Dorhal was unfazed, "Lose hope." He said in a low tone, staring Uranus directly in the eyes.
Uranus grinned even more, "I see... so that is the difference of power in our bodies." He said, "Good... great, even!"
Dorhal sneered at the troll, "You are just as dumb as the rest of them." He uttered.
Uranus looked up, his smile turning into a frown, "My ability is called Power Fold! It allows me to use the combined strength of not only my power but also all the power of the person I am up against! With that difference in strength, you will be crushed!"
"Thats it?" Dorhal nearly scoffed at those words, "Strength alone will not save you, you fool! I am absolutely indomitable, don’t you understand?" Even he was starting to get a bit confused now.
"That’s what you think, but that’s where you are wrong! When I said double the power, I didn’t just mean physical. I also gain all of the mental strength of my opponent. If you didn’t know, our abilities are governed by our mental strength. That also includes your Absolute Indomitability, orc!" Uranus replied with a grin.
For a second, Dorhal was quite shocked.
If what the troll was saying was true, he could have been in some actual trouble here.
"The only issue with that is... when it comes to gaining mental strength, there is a limitation. Since my brain can only process the capacity of my own brain strength, I only receive as much as my own. So, in other words, my brain strength is doubled. Regardless, that will be enough to overpower almost any living soul! I am an ancient troll that is over ten thousand years old, young orc! You shall not overcome me... especially not with Power Fold." Uranus drew nearer.
He raised his sword, his purple cutlass blade glowing more than three times as bright as before with an extraordinary brilliance.
Dorhal’s expression was shadowed, yet his grip on his sword remained tight and to his side. He stared at the floor, his expression undiscernible.
His body continued to glow in a powerful light.
Uranus swung down his sword, "Die!" He roared.
As his blade traveled toward Dorhal’s temple, his eyes widened with excitement. ’He isn’t even making an attempt to block this time! He’s given up! He knows he has been checkmated!’ He thought.
In Uranus’s mind, there was no chance that Dorhal would survive this blow.
He had tested his mental strength for many eons, and yet was a single being enough to topple his resilience. Such a power doubled onto itself was sure to defeat that of any living being.
However, when his blade struck Dorhal’s head, it stopped as though it had reached the barrier of space itself.
There wasn’t even a clang. No, there was no noise at all. In fact, there wasn’t even a gust of wind, nor a peep of sound.
No... more than that, Uranus’s blade hadn’t even made contact with Dorhal’s temple. It was still an entire inch away.
Dorhal’s Absolute Indomitability had oozed out of his body, creating a void of infinite willpower all around him--like a protective barrier.
The barrier swallowed all of the kinetic energy of Uranus’s attack as though it were nothing. It was an entirely new ability.
Uranus was awestruck. His maw was wide open with shock as terror flashed across his pupils.
"I-impossible!" He roared, "How is this possible!? A special ability granted to one by a god can overpower all other lifeforms without exception. Against another who also has a primordial boon, the amount of one’s willpower and spirit determines the winner. My boon has been created for this exact reason! My boon defies all others on Fell-Terra, able to directly defeat all those with primordial gifts in a direct confrontation. That is the nature of its existence! Yet... your ability still supersedes mine!?" He was at a loss.
He didn’t know whether to feel confused, fearful, or angry.
Dorhal finally raised his head and revealed his stone-cold expression.
"There’s one issue with that, Bob," Dorhal said, refusing to acknowledge this new name for the troll. His words gave multiple meanings of intention.
It was clear that Dorhal still saw Uranus as nothing more than a troll, just like the rest of them. He was still inferior.
"My innate spirit and will power far overwhelm yours. Even with your willpower doubled, it is unable to hold a candle to mine. If our spirits were similar in power, our clash would have been somewhat even. But instead, my Absolute Indomitability grew stronger!" Dorhal said with wide and intense eyes, like those of a tiger before it was about to pounce.
Right before Uranus struck Dorhal, thoughts raced through the orc’s head.
’If his will power is above mine, Absolute Indomitability will do nothing. Blocking is useless. I can only gamble my willpower against double his. That is the last chance I have...’ After thinking this to himself, Dorhal clenched his fist and reinforced his mind with clarity and confidence. ’I shall not falter!’ He roared inwardly.
His spirit and willpower expanded, becoming a layer of Absolute Indomitability that surrounded him.
Uranus couldn’t believe what he was hearing. How could a mere orc have such willpower? It was inconceivable.
