Chapter 22: Chapter 22

As they made their way back, night fell, and upon arrival, they found the place slightly dark. They began organizing their belongings before settling in.

Jeff then started a fire, which earned him some experience points & points. Afterward, he skinned the boar and was surprised to hear a notification.

[You just skinned a Boar, You received 1 experience points]

As he continued his actions the notification keeps bombarding him like crazy, if I say it’s crazy, it’s so cre-crazy!

He persisted with the process and eventually gathered the beast’s meat, fat, and hide. He recalled from a book that this wild boar was quite versatile in its uses.

Rising to his feet on the flat, rocky surface near the shore, he proceeded to clean his catch in the water. Once finished, he returned.

As he returned, they noticed he was carrying the boar’s hide, filled with its meat and fat.

"Captain, how much meat did you get from the boar?" Ariana asked excitedly, eyeing the large hide serving as a container.

She couldn’t imagine the bounty of 30-40 pounds, which made her mouth water at the thought that none of them would go hungry.

The rest awaited his response eagerly, "If you mean the meat, it’s around 60 pounds, and the fat is approximately 15 pounds." he replied, after weighing it.

All of them were astonished and overjoyed as they gathered around the fireplace.

"Young captain, can we roast it now? I’m very hungry," Emma exclaimed, caressing her stomach.

"Look at yourself, you’re such a foodie. We should properly limit our consumption of the meat so it can last us for a long time," Charlotte retorted, earning a glare from Emma.

"Hmph, at least the food didn’t go to my stomach, but to my bosom," she said, crossing her arms, again to make it bulge.

Charlotte’s face darkened as anger flared up within her. The tension between the two was about to ignite into another full-blown argument when Jeff stepped in.

"Alright, enough of your bickering," he said firmly, cutting them off.

"We can enjoy this meat as much as we want for today. There are plenty of boars in the forest, so running out of food isn’t a problem just yet."

His calm but authoritative tone managed to diffuse the situation, though both women huffed and looked away, clearly still holding onto their rivalry.

Hearing that there was more meat in the forest, Ariana’s saliva was dripping from her mouth because Jessica was getting used to her arms interlocking with each other.

She felt something cold and gooey land on her skin. Looking at her arms, the source was from Ariana’s mouth.

"Ariana! Hurry up and swallow it already!" Jessica exclaimed, snapping Ariana out of her daze.

"Look at my arm—it’s covered in drool!" she said angrily, filled with disgust on her face.

Startled, Ariana quickly wiped her mouth, greatly embarrassed. Jessica, meanwhile, wiped her arm with her clothes, looking a little nauseated.

She hesitated to put her arm near Ariana again, clearly worried it might happen again.

"Let’s roast some meat. Since all of you are hungry," Jeff said, breaking the awkward moment as he began gathering sticks near their shelter.

Layla extended her hand toward the freshly prepared meat, her eyes locked on the fatty portion. Jeff noticed and was about to stop her but hesitated, ultimately deciding against it

Layla noticed Jeff’s hesitation and became solemn, misinterpreting his actions. She thought he wanted to stop her but chose not to, leaving her feeling uncertain.

The others noticed as well, and Charlotte frowned, her expression darkening as she assumed Jeff was being selfish.

The atmosphere grew tense, the weight of misunderstanding lingering over the group. Sensing this, Jeff quickly addressed the situation.

"Don’t misunderstand," he said firmly.

"I wasn’t stopping anyone from eating. I was only referring to roasting the meat properly, not eating the fat. But if you all want to eat, go ahead. Just make sure to leave at least 10 pounds and consume no more than 5 pounds for now."

Charlotte’s frown deepened as she gave him a scrutinizing look, "Is there a reason for this?" she asked, her tone demanding an explanation.

"Yes, actually, I’m planning to use the fat of the boar to make soap, especially oil," he explained.

Hearing the word "soap," they were astounded. "Soap? You can make a soap?" All of them racked their minds, looking at Jeff like a living monster.

"You can make soap? I didn’t know that the fat of a boar could be used to make a bar of soap," Charlotte exclaimed in surprise. She only knew that oil could be extracted from animals.

But this is the first time she had ever heard you can make a soap using the boars fat, Jeff just nodded his head and replied, "But the quality is not that great, and the texture might be a little different from the soap that you can buy in the market. But it’s good for us, since it is a practical and effective option for maintaining hygiene on the island." he explained.

"Wow, young captain you are really amazing. You’re just becoming more and more attractive from this big sister" Emma spoke, praising his intelligence.

Layla, knowing the reason now, sighed in relief. She thought at first that Jeff was being selfish with her. But when she saw that he would even let her roast the fat, she felt warm all of a sudden.

"Thank you, Captain," Layla spoke gratefully.

Hearing her heartfelt words, Jeff was stupefied.

Why was she thanking him for no reason at all?

"Don’t mention it," he replied, not knowing what she was referring to.

"Is it also possible to make shampoo?" Jessica asked, waiting for the answer.

Her hair had become coarser and more unkempt as it had not been washed with shampoo.

"Is it also possible?" Charlotte asked as well.

All of them then were waiting for his answer, since they also wanted a shampoo. They can’t wait to wash their hair, back to its original form.

"Well, if making soap is achievable, then producing shampoo isn’t far-fetched either. We could use the soap base made from boar fat and wood ash. Next, we would collect herbs or plants known for their cleansing effects. These would be boiled in water to create an infusion, which, after cooling and straining, would be mixed with the soap base to form a simple yet effective shampoo," he explained.

Hearing his words they did not doubted him one bit, after seeing his capability so many times. They trust his words with 100% certainly.

Observing their expectant and eager expressions, he continued, "However, we still need to source the proper materials and equipment to achieve the desired result. But don’t worry, we should have everything within two days or so," he assured.

"Captain is really amazing! As long as I can wash my hair and take a bath with soap, I won’t care even if it takes weeks or months, as long as I can get soap," Ariana muttered, clearly excited.

"That’s right, Captain is really intelligent. Even if it takes weeks or months, if it were up to us, making this kind of product would be impossible," Layla praised as well.

"I can’t wait," Emma spoke as she caressed her hair.

"Me neither," Charlotte added, caressing her hair as well.

Jessica, on the other hand, was shaking all over from too much excitement. She couldn’t wait to take a bath with soap or shampoo.

They then decided to eat the meat. Only 5 pounds of fat and 10 pounds of meat were roasted. Everyone had their hearty meal, relishing their life on the island.

They also drank some coconut juice to help them swallow the food. As they finished, Jessica bade her farewell, followed by Ariana and Layla, who said their goodnights.

What was left at the site was Jeff, Emma, and Charlotte again. He wondered why they were still here and hadn’t gone to the small shelter.

"Are you two still not sleepy?" he asked.

The two then looked at each other, and Emma nodded her head as she looked at Jeff seriously.

"Young Captain, are you going to sleep here again, using the palm leaves as a quilt and mattress?" she asked.

"Yes, where else would I sleep? Since it’s closer to the fire, it can greatly help me to eliminate the cold," he replied to her question.

"Captain, would you prefer to sleep in the shelter? It’s rightfully yours, after all. We can’t let your good conscience to let you rest here in discomfort while we enjoy the comfort. That wouldn’t be fair," Emma stated earnestly, feeling as though they were taking advantage of his generous self.

Hearing Charlotte’s words, Jeff couldn’t help but feel warmth for her kind-hearted nature. However, he quickly addressed the situation.

"Didn’t I already explain?" he began, his tone steady.

"If I sleep inside with all three of you, something like an unintended contact might occur." It wasn’t right for a man to share such close quarters with women, he thought.

"I don’t mind, young captain," Emma replied seriously, her face turning red as she recalled the earlier incident when she hugged him.

The hot and big thing hitting below her abdomen was the most embarrassing thing that had ever happened to her.

But she just tried to mind it as a normal thing, since he was still in his teens. Hormones from a man who just turned adult can be really uncontrollable, Emma thought inwardly, reminding herself about this.

"Yeah, we don’t mind," Charlotte added firmly, her expression resolute.

"If you refuse to sleep inside, then we won’t sleep either."

Seeing the two standing their ground, Jeff could only sigh in resignation. Realizing he had no choice, he relented.

"Alright then," he said, his tone was exhausted.

"Let’s get some rest since we need to be up early tomorrow. But wait for a moment." he stated.

Jeff then walked over to the nearest coconut tree and hung the fur pouch containing their meat securely on a high branch.

It was a precaution to keep wild animals from getting to their food while they slept.

Once he returned, he cast a glance at his two women, who were waiting patiently.

"Let’s rest now," he said, settling into their shelter for the night.
