Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Not sure if its poetry

[Mass Release]

Jeff, hearing what he said panicked as, as he felt the atmosphere darken. He could even feel his hair stand, and his back felt cold.

Emma’s serious and deadly expression felt like it could tear him apart, made him smile wryly.

Jessica and Layla were also looking at him like he was dead. Even Charlotte was not an exception, as her gaze was cold as ice.

"What did I doo!" he exclaimed loudly, he knows that one wrong move will kill him.

"Girls, girls, girls, why are all of you so hard to handle? " he cursed.

Extending his hand, he placed it on Ariana’s shoulder, who was cuddling in his bare chest like a girl in love.

Well, she was in love, so remove the ’like’ if you want to. Seeing his hands, their gazes were igniting, making him sweat even further.

He tried to focus as he touched her shoulder. Emma was about to throw a tantrum, as she really wanted to step on him.

"Are you trying to flirt in front of me? Let me show you how I deal with you later," She growled inwardly.

Ariana felt his soft touch. She shyly looked up as Jeff pushed him back a little to make some space, not entirely shoving her away since this would hurt Ariana.

His eyes were calm as Ariana looked at him, her face filled with love and doting.

Jeff, seeing his reaction, asked what he had in mind. "Look, Ariana, when I accepted all of you in the group, I did not want this kind of compensation. We are a team, and we share the same burden. For you giving yourself as compensation, I cannot accept it since a girl as beautiful as you must find someone deserving," he said, sharing his thoughts.

This is not a lie or a come-up constructed word; this is what his heart said since he can’t accept this kind of thing.

Hearing what he said, the girls felt their eyes soften. Jessica could not help but tear up a little but no tears were coming.

Layla, beside Jessica, her eyes and his expression turned soft as she felt her body go numb from his words.

"Oh, captain" she mumbled entrance by his words.

Charlotte was also affected as her view towards Jeff, changed suddenly. She was like in her younger years, starting to fall in love again.

Behind him, Emma was the most affected. She could not help but feel her body lose its strength from his words.

That was very manly, and her heart began to beat wildly as her gaze toward him intensified.

"Your move just now is good. I’ll make you satisfied with the service next time," she said to herself. She was very happy with what he said.

Ariana, hearing his thoughts, was entranced; her love deepened even more. She knew that even if she found another man in his life, she would never fall in love again.

Jeff, not knowing how powerful his words were, was oblivious to this as he stared at her, waiting for her reply.

But what made their heart sour is he called ’Ariana’ beautiful, making their heart bittersweet.

Their jealousy was still there, but for real, Ariana was really beautiful and cute, but the compliment in front of them made them a bit uncomfortable.

Ariana who could not handle it anymore, her eyes were overflowing with love. They had met for not more than a week, but their bond was deep.

Experiencing a lot of happenings in that span of days already carved Jeff’s presence in her heart.

She knows that it is dumb to love someone in just a span of days, but she can’t handle it.

She hugged Jeff again, wrapping her arms around his back and her cheeks pressed against his chest.

Their happy and somewhat good feeling turned to jealousy upon seeing this scene again.

"Shameful!" the girls shouted In their minds.

Getting hugged by a girl again made Jeff freeze. She was hugging him more tightly, and he felt her breast was hitting his abdomen.

"So soft," he thought inwardly.

Since Ariana is the third largest melons in the group, Charlotte is second, but the gap between them is not wide but small.

But the demon queen of this competition, for the largest melons is none other than Emma. We will know in the future if Ariana improves in size.

Jeff did not feel their wrathful gaze since his focus was on Ariana.

He was about to say something when Ariana let go, leaning back again with a beautiful smile.

"Then don’t take it as compensation, captain. Actually, I love you, and I had a crush on you back on the first day we met. But that changes into love as time passes by," she muttered softly. Her gaze was like springs.

The girls were shocked upon hearing this; their jealousy faded. "This is a face-to-face confession," they thought inwardly.

All of them were very anxious, and Emma was the most affected one since she couldn’t handle the feeling if this young man accepted Ariana’s confession.

Her heart began to waver, and her face turned solemn. She just stand their and let Jeff decide.

If he agreed, then his treasure man would be taken away, making her plale from this though.

"I should have let him take responsibility back there. What would happen if he accepts her confession? Should I really pressure him to break up with her if they end up together, just to make him take responsibility?" Her thoughts drifted as she contemplated the possibility.

Jeff’s face was still calm, and he sighed. "Are you sure it’s love and not gratitude?" he asked, as Ariana looked at him weirdly.

Ariana blinked. Her expression showed how she was caught off guard, "Gratitude, what do you mean?"

Seeing her face and hearing what she said, he continued, "Look, being in love is different from gratitude. I think that you are mixing up the two"

"When someone helps us during our difficult time, we can naturally feel grateful to them, right?" he said, but Ariana remained silent, waiting for him to continue.

"That gratitude we feel can be strong and sometimes even overwhelming, especially if the person makes a big impact in our lives. It is very easy to confuse that with love because both emotions come from a place of deep appreciation and care," he said in a gentle tone as he lowered his gaze, looking at her eyes.

He paused for a moment, giving them a moment to absorb his words as he added.

"When it comes to love, things are different. Love isn’t just about the things someone has done for you; it’s deeply rooted in who they are. It means caring for someone, not for how they’ve supported you but because you truly see them—their flaws, their strengths, and everything in between. It’s about choosing them willingly, without any expectations in return."

Ariana’s gaze softened as she processed his explanation. The place grew quieter as the other girls hung onto his every word that was like a fucking poetry.

I don’t know if this is even fucking poetry, but just go with the flow, my fellow readers

Jeff offered a faint smile, but his eyes held a serious glimmer. "That’s why I’m asking, Ariana. Do you love me for who I truly am, or is it because of the things I’ve done for you? Think carefully before you respond, because the distinction is significant."

Ariana’s face turned serious as she pondered this, gazing at him in a daze. Jeff then let go of his hand on his shoulder.

He patted her head as he said, "Think about it carefully since this is for your own good."

Ariana was deep in contemplation, wondering if it was gratitude or love. The other girls were also in a dilemma.

"Is my love for the captain truly because I feel indebted to repay what he has done?" Layla looked down in a daze, unsure of the answer she was seeking.

Jessica stared at Jeff, filled with thoughts. "Gratitude? Is this gratitude?" she mumbled in a low voice.

Charlotte also clutched her heart in question as she wondered about his words, "Love? Gratitude? Different yet connected—what is it really?" She thought, feeling shocked.

"In the first place, why am I even thinking about this? Don’t tell me I’m really attracted to a man who is a year younger than me," she exclaimed.

Emma began to wonder about her actions, like what they had done earlier, if she was back in the city, or if she had found a man who had helped her a lot.

She will never do that, from what she did to the young man earlier.

She knows that what she felt was not gratitude but love that was beginning to sprout inside of her.

"My feelings are pure, young captain. You better take responsibility for this," she exhaled sharply, not sharing her thoughts.
