Chapter 160: Dinner at her uncle house part one

"I don’t think your boyfriend would be happy if he knew that you’re here in a man’s bedroom." Jacob said as he continued typing on the laptop.

Petal ignored his words and continued looking around the room. It was a pretty big bedroom. At least she won’t feel guilty that he’s sleeping in some small place.

"Ethan is not like that. He’s just overprotective. I think it’s because of the guilt he is feeling towards me." Petal said. signaling.

Jacob closed the lid of the laptop and said."Are you saying that your relationship with him is biased on the guilt that he feels but not true love?" He asked, looking at her.

Petal nodded her head and sighed as she sat on the chair.``That’s what sometimes I feel. But I’m certain." She replied. signaling.

"Well, from a man’s point of view I can tell that your feelings are wrong. It’s obvious in the way he treats. Getting jealous for no reason. All of this is obvious. It’s just that you don’t have much experience in these things." Jacob said as he got off the bed.

Petal smiled as she looked at Jacob. The only person who can clear her doubts when she is lost is only him.

"Are you going out?" Jacob asked her.

"Yes. I’m going to visit my mother’s grave. It’s been a while." Petal said as she stood up."I’m glad that you’re comfortable here." She added before she left the room.

"I did for you silly. I promised your mother to keep you safe and I will keep my promise." Jacob mumbled to himself. Petal didn’t hear him because she had already left the room.

"This one misses Petal." The bodyguard said as he opened the car door for her.

Petal got into the car looking outside the window and sighed. So many bodyguards come with her just because she’s going to visit her mother’s grave. She knew that all this was to protect but the question was for how long things are going to be like this?

The car she was in drove out of the mansion followed by two behind her and two in front of her. The Santos cemetery wasn’t very far from here. Petal looked at the date on her phone, noticing that her birthday was close. A week from now. She decided to not tell anyone because she didn’t feel like calibrating it. Not when her mother is not around.

All her birthday memories were always filled with her mother calibrating with her. Making the cake for her.

"Miss Peter. We’re here." The driver announced.

Petal was lost in her thoughts that the drive went by in the blink of an eye. Nodding her head. The driver got out of the car, opening the door for her.

Getting out of the car. Petal opened her umbrella before she started walking towards the cemetery. The rain was heavy today. Walking towards her mother’s grave. Petal felt sadness fill her heart. She never imagined visiting her mother’s grave. Never. But here she is visiting her.

Reaching her mother’s grave. Petal placed bent down removing the old flowers before replacing them with the new ones that she brought. Placing her hand on the grave. She wondered if her mother could feel her presence. At moments like this, she wished that she could talk so she could tell her how much she missed her.

"I had a feeling that I will see you here today." Petal heard someone’s voice behind and she turned to look at who this person was.

"Good evening my beautiful niece." Ben happily said, making Petal smile.

It was hard not to when she’s around this man. He felt oddly close to her as he was her father. Standing up. She looked at him confused as to why he was here3.

"What are you doing here?" She asked him. signaling.

"Is that how you greet your uncle." Ben said walking towards her. "I came here to visit Olivia. Like you. I miss her too." Ben replied to her question.

Petal stared at the man in front of her with a confused look. He seemed close to her mother. Offaly close."I’m sorry. But I’m not used to having you around." She said. signaling.

Ben patted her head and bent down kissing her forehead."It’s alright. You will get used to me in time. I’m planning to be close to you. That’s why I bought a house close to Wilson’s estate. Now you can visit me." He said cupping her face.

Ben looked into her hazel eyes noticing that it was the same hazel shads as him. Petal looked more like him than Olivia. How badly he wanted to tell her the truth. But he knew that this wasn’t the right time.

Petal was taken aback by her uncle’s sudden affection. But she didn’t hate it. Somehow she sensed her mother’s love in his touch. Taking a step closer to him. She warped her arms around him and he did the same.

"It must have been hard for you. You suddenly lost your mother. But I want to know that I will always be your family." Ben said as he kissed the crown of her head before he pulled away.

Petal nodded. The truth is. She was happy that Ben had appeared in her life. At least someone from her family is alive and by her side.

"How close were you and my mother?" Petal asked Ben. Signaling.

"Oh. That’s a long story that one day I will make sure to tell to you. But you need is that Olivia is a good woman. She loved you so much." Ben replied to her question as he looked at her grave. The grave that belonged to the woman he loved.

"I know." Petal said. Signaling. "I miss her." She added. signaling.

"Me too." Ben replied.

After leaving the cemetery. Ben and Petal stood near his car talking.

"Come with me and have dinner." Ben offered.

Petal looked at the watch in her hand noticing that it was almost dinner time. She supposed that it won’t be harmful to have dinner with her uncle.

"Alright. I will come." Petal replied. signaling.
