______________

Ethan walked towards the mansion entrance with unsteady steps. He wasn’t planning to come back to the mansion today but it was the only place he could see her. When he woke and didn’t find her in the bed with. He felt strange feelings. The spot that was supposed to fill with her warmth was cold. He felt angry and wanted to find her and ask her why? But he didn’t. Instead. He went and bought alcohol bottles and went back to the house. To the room where she was. Where her scent was the strongest

Glass after the other. Ethan consumed all of it to the point that he was extremely drunk. Thinking that it might numb the pain.

Ethan walked towards the stairs with Alice following right behind him. She was worried that he might lose his footing and hurt himself. Last night was back to the mansion late and he didn’t. She had a feeling that they were together and something had happened between them that led him to end up like this.

Hearing footsteps. Alice looked up to see Petal coming downstairs. She turned to look at Ethan and saw him look up at him.

Petal’s eyes met his first a brief moment before she continued to walk downstairs and was about to pass them when she heard him say.

"Are you going to Ignore me like nothing happened?" Ethan asked.

Petal looked over her shoulder before she continued walking downstairs but he followed her and so did Alice. Gripping her arm. Ethan turned her around forcefully.

Petal yanked her arm off and glared at him. She wanted to slap his handsome face so badly to make him know his place but it was best not to do that here. So, She kept cool. Plus he was drunk. So it’s useless.

"How could you?" Ethan now spoke in a desperate tone as he approached her.

Petal gave him a bord look. Pretending that she didn’t care."You should drink something to sober up." She said to him, Signaling.

Ethan tried to hold back his anger. He promised himself to not show her that dark side of him once again after what he did. But her careless actions were making him lose his mind. One moment she seduce him and ask him to fuck her body as he pleased and the next day she give him a cold shoulder. It was confusing. He doesn’t understand her. Was that her way to make him suffer? Because it was working.

"What if I told you that it’s a lie? All that you heard. Would you believe me?" Ethan asked her.

Alice watched with wide eyes her brother. No. The mafia king pleading for a woman’s forgiveness. That is something that she never expected.

Petal reached to message the space between her eyebrows. She simply doesn’t have the time with this shit early in the morning."No. Are you done now?" She replied and asked. Signaling.

Ethan’s heart hurt. Like he was being stepped on. A realization hit him. He already lost her. The look in her eyes was full of hatred and pain. A dangerous combination. He knows it well. For he knows it best. She healed him from it but the question now Is. Who will heal her from?

Seeing that he stopped babbling. She turned on her heels and left the mansion. Shocked by how cool and fazed by what happened right now. But it was best that way. The less she cared the faster she forgot.

"Ethan." Alice called her brother placing her hand on his shoulder.

It pained him seeing him like this. Weak and vulnerable. Helping him to walk upstairs. She went to his room. Ethan asked her to leave. Wishing to be alone.

After drinking a large cup of coffee. Ethan stepped inside the bathroom to take a shower. He turned the cold water only hoping it would sober him up.

Closing his eyes. The image of Petal laying in his arms appeared in his mind. The feeling of his hands caressing her soft body. She labored against his neck and hold into him. The heat of her skin against his. The feeling of her soft black hair as he ran his fingers through it.

Ethan’s eyes narrowed. A sense of possessiveness took over him. She belongs to him and no one else. Every part of her. He will have her heart again. He will not stop chasing her until she admits her feelings. She thinks that he bought how unfazed she appeared. But both knew that what they shared last night wasn’t just physical intimacy. It was far from that.

He won’t allow her to hurt herself and him just for the sake of revenge. He knew that feeling. The loneliness and how it can eat you deep inside until it turns you into a monster. One that no longer can feel or enjoy anything. He can’t allow her to lose that kind soul of hers. The brightness of her smile.

"It’s been a while since we last used it." Issac said pointing at the shooting area behind the mansion.

"It looks like it’s still in good condition." Jacob said.

"Yes. I made sure to keep it like this. It’s Ethan’s favorite place. My father and Ethan used to come here most of the time." Alice said as walked towards them.

Jacob noticed how close the family was. It reminded him of his own family. The difference is that his life was less dramatic than theirs.

"Do you want to try it?" Issac asked Jacob as he set up the shooting targets." Let’s see how good you’re?" He added.

Jacob chuckled. Was he challenging him? He’s more than happy to teach this brat a lesson.
